Although I’m not there yet, I am rapidly approaching and am being driven mad by itchy, dry legs.

I really need something cosseting and soothing to stop me clawing at my ankles in bed.

Any beefy suggestions?

Argh been there. Horrendous.
I take an antihistamine which seems to help with the itching. And the cream that seems to work for me, after much trial and error, is Mixa Balm Cica for irritated dry skin. It doesn't sting if you put it on scratched skin unlike a lot of others. A lot of that range seems good for dry sensitive skin tbh. I got mine in Superdrug.

I noticed the cosseting but wasn’t sure whether you were being ironic or not so didn‘t react!!!!
I was trying really hard to throw in a line related to this, and I'm sure someone with superior vocab skills can do it, but I can't think of a Saliesque comeback. All that's coming to mind is that Chappell Roan bauble she bought for cool teenagers.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

I had a reel pop up from Rochelle and Marvin what’s their faces and they were in Miami for SpaceNK
Why?
Just reminded me not to buy from there no matter how many £5 offs they try tempting me with
PS the pair of them were on my flight to Ibiza last year, they had right miserable faces on them, they hardly acknowledged each other, but of course that’s not what they posted on IG two days later, all smiles and chinking of champagne glasses
PPS ever since I searched them they now appear in my you may like list 🙄
They sent Luke Hamnett to that Adele trip last year. The guy that used to do comedy reels taking the piss out of influencers and now is one of the biggest grifters going. Hanging off Maura’s coattails and now annoying as duck. Used to love him.

My husband is the same, especially on holiday with the mix of sun and harsher detergents used for bed sheets. He swears by this stuff. If it’s really bad I get him to add in a few drops of glycerin for an extra hydration boost.

Cosseting, you say?

I can't speak from personal experience but if in-shower is an option for you, I know a ton of people here (Canada, so you know. Cold and therefore dry and itchy) swear by Bioderma Atoderm Shower Oil.

Similar vein, though I have used it - this stuff from Naturium: https://www.boots.com/naturium-the-glow-getter-multi-oil-hydrating-body-wash-500-ml-10352820 I had to stop as it's too moisturizing for me.

First off, I deliberately inserted reference to 'cossetting' in there and nobody reacted to it. For shame!

Times have definitely changed. I remember in the early days of blogging, influencers would get free stuff. And now it's lavish trips that are entirely unrelated. Similar to the Orient Express, what was Space NK at sending people to see Adele? It's not even tangentially related to anything. It's very tasteless, especially post-pandemic when more and more people are struggling or worse.

I buy very little in terms of luxury beauty / skincare (I'm fairly specific in brands I use) but I do think consumers as a whole are questioning everything more and more (disruptors like Deciem shaking up the market, the internet at everyone's fingertips, etc.) in any case. At least, I hope so. Maybe I'm just getting old and too jaded to care about a lot of it :D
Influencers used to go on far more trips in the early days. I remember Anna Edit, Fleur & Victoria In the Frow going to Coachella with a brand back when Victoria had purple hair. Nars had many influencers on a holiday abroad where they were all in swimwear by a pool with inflatable flamingos for a mascara launch. Hello October was there. There was a Disney trip too. Other trips could be more related - like the bloggers trip round Chanel's apartment and fragrance fields which Ruth Crilly, Anna Edit & Lily Pebbles attended. I also remember Anna Edit & Lily Pebbles going to Glossier in New York and Anna Edit going to Scandinavia with Ren. Influencers in the early days would also be sent the entire set of shades when a new product was launched. I think Beauty Professor only seems to get all the shades now and she is known for her swatches.

I don’t buy any foundation anymore. I bought a £4 yellow colour corrector from MUA that does a great job of the shadows under the eyes and I leave it at that.

one of my favourite lipsticks is an Essence one that I’ve not been able to replicate in anything else.

but just sometimes, it feels like a treat to spend on something like a blush. I don’t know if it’s the 90s magazine reader in me or what.
I'm going to give the Maybelline one a go, I think - the one that's thin, in a little dropper. Skin Tint? But I need to get to a shop to look at testers, because ordering online for foundation is not a good idea, I have learned.

Re blush, I have a confession - I was influenced by Sali Hughes to get that cushiony MAC one and I do love it. I had bought an ELF liquid one, but they are just too strongly pigmented - I could not apply little enough and was looking like Aunt Sally out of Worzel Gummidge. The MAC one is very nice. Sali was recommending True Harmony, but I had a pinky one.

I LOVE the Glow Play blushes (ollways have) and have far too many of them. Beautiful formula, easy to use and gorgeous colours.

Ohh yes that Bioderma is my go to shower product. Great in winter or for sensitive/irritable skin and seems to last forever.

I tried the Maybelline Skin tint testers the other day on my hand and was disappointed as I loved the light formula - but every single suitable one seemed so orange. I don't know if it was the lighting in Superdrug or what. I've previously tried L'Oreal True Match Plumping Tinted Serum - again very thin consistency with a dropper - and found a good colour match for me. I need something that has a bit of a grey tinge if that makes sense.

Since we're talking makeup reccs... Beauty Pie discontinued their liquid eyeliner for some reason and it was one of the best I tried. Does anyone have a recommendation for a dupe?

this is rogue, but hairdryer. I have eczema and it helps. you slightly burn them but the itching is gone - immediately. I once had a spider bit that was the worst most itchy thing ever (and I have had hospitalisations for eczema in the past) and the hairdryer was instant relief.

Wow that's interesting - never heard of that but try it.

I genuinely loath SpaceNK.
Their policy of giving these mats massive holidays and freebies really pisses me off.
They paid for a bunch of them to go to LA to see Adele last year.
Seems like there's a current SpaceNK "press trip" that's going viral for all the wrong reasons

You haters just couldn't cope with the ferocious slog that's involved with being an influencer. Testing lipsticks and opening boxes containing high-end freebies is real labour. Digging a road is a cinch in comparison.

Regarding the Celluma pro panel that Lisa Eldridge recommended, I was totally influenced to buy it as I do trust her and I indeed loved it, for my face, chest and back (bacne 😬) however, due to raging ADHD and a long, protracted house move I’ve just not had the headspace to get back into a routine. You do need decent eye protectors (I bought cheapy hard plastic sunbed ones from Amazon that leave marks for hours) . Once you are under the Celluma, it’s really lovely and relaxing and is timed for half an hour, so ideal for a light nap. Nice time out and good for self care. I was flush when I bought it and well, now I’m a homeowner I’ve realised how much renovations, planning applications (bleeping major RIP OFF ) paint etc costs. I don’t want to sell it as it’s my main anti ageing thing (at 52 I’ve never done tweakments and I don’t go to salons for anything!)

Which t-shirt is that??
He has banged on so much about wanting it, his daughter sourced an original “missing - Shannon Matthew’s” t-shirt with Shannon’s school photo on, which the search teams wore whilst the child was kidnapped, drugged and held captive LOLS she’s now an adult with a new identity maybe she’ll see him laughing about her abduction
