I do find the sex stuff OTT, purely because when a man is like that, I also find it repellent and juvenile. It’s like when you lose your virginity and want everyone to know how cool and grown up you are now. But I guess this is her brand, and isn’t aimed at a 37yr old woman like me 😂

I think, maybe naively, but if your music is good and timeless you don’t need to resort to hair adverts that play on the word ‘bang’ and sexual innuendo to be popular

I think her having 4 albums on holywood that did nothing, then she signs to island and suddenly is a hit with this new persona kinda shows it's working.

Sadly good music alone isn't enough.

The thing is I don’t actually think she’s really sexual and is ‘expressing her sexuality’, I think she just thinks it’s hilarious to make sexual jokes/innuendos constantly. But it’s not

She can’t keep the Betty boop thing going forever. It’ll get dated really quick. Katy Perry was also marketed in a similar way and used to perform in the same same oopsy woopsy I’m just a little cutsie out here making giggly innuendos for the boys while winking at the camera. She couldn’t sustain that act and look at where she is now

sabrina can actually sing though this is what frustrates me. The boys/ men she’s marketing towards don’t care about her other than something to look at and they certainly don’t take her seriously as an artist. The teen audience for innuendoes will get old fast and move on to the next thing.

I don’t understand the end goal here at all.

The end goal is likely short term and is to sell the album and tour, and it’s definitely working. I only heard of her though Olivia Rodrigo and then the nonsense outros made me aware of the music. The innuendos from the outros went viral, so she went with this Barbarella thing.

We all know how women are expected to reinvent for every album. I really doubt she’ll stick with it forever now she’s got a foot in the door. Other than it being a bit cheesy in the hair and Netflix ads, I don’t really mind it.

It'll be Serious Sabrina next. Wearing black and pretending to play a guitar.

Tbf I think she actually can play guitar 😅

It’s a shame women have to do it in the industry. People will say the current thing has got old and overdone, and when she changes they’ll want the old her back. I was impressed that Olivia Rodrigo kept to the same style but just became slightly more mature for the second album. Bit of an anomaly for a female pop star though.

Defo her next incarnation then. Serious Sabrina with her guitar and her long black skirt, followed by Rock Chick Sabrina when the male interest dies down.

Whether it’s the real her or put on, it’s working (obviously not for the majority on this thread 😂) can’t blame her for leaning in to it when she’s now where she has wanted to be from her past albums. I do still prefer emails I can’t send, I think it has more depth but short n sweet is still a good album

Just seen on X her tour kicked off last night and the show was only 1 hour and 10 mins long , this seems so short for the ticket prices

The show looks great actually but it’s crazy how she sings virtually none of her older stuff apart from some stuff from Emails I Can’t Send.
