duck off ruby, “simple life is truly the better one” while you’re living in your multimillion dollar house in the affluent area of bangalow with your exxy car and incessant consumerism.. is this a spiel from Laura Laughlin playbook.
(I agree, nature and simplicity is excellent but please, pull the other one.)
so much phone down time she needs to post about it 🙄

do we think Ruby did all that Crazy Paving herself as she has implied, or a few trades there as well?

I think she did it herself, she seemed to show every step of the process. I was impressed it looks really good. I can’t say I’m surprised her drop kick of a ‘partner’ was nowhere to be seen and probably did nothing to help
To her credit, she’s actually very artistic and has practical skills and a willingness to try, so I wouldn’t be surprised that she’s done it herself.

Yep, I watched again and didn't see any snippets of other vehicles or people so maybe she did! Credit to her as opposed to the other narcissistic witches out there like Sophie , emmmy lou etc!

No doubt Ruby would have done the whole lot by herself.

She's pretty handy on the tools and really capable of getting stuff done around the house.

She takes a lot on - probably her own worst enemy in that regards.

I have a love/hate relationship with RTM.

I really like her style and her honesty, but obviously being an influencer, there are a few things I'm not a fan of.

What I do really like is the new Robey range coming out this week. The promo she did with the girl on the toilet smoking a cigarette was weird, but the actual towels, robes look amazing.

Same. I hated the banana thing with her son, it tipped me over. And all the ED stuff is a concern. There’s lots of things I don’t like.

but what I have always liked about RTM is she has actual genuine style and creative flair. And I hard agree the new robes and towels are hot.

The illustration on the new Robey robes and towels is an exact copy of a tarot deck card.

Whether the tarot card artwork is copy righted or in the public domain seems unclear, but it’s certainly the original artist’s intellectual property and I feel Ruby is presenting it as her own illustration.

The original artist, Pamela Colman Smith, doesn’t appear to be credited anywhere. This seems ironic when influencers are the first to screech about their images being their intellectual property. And also that women should support women. 😏

Shutterstock have that image too. RTM isn't dumb. She would have purchased the image to be used. Probs not to the artist but definitely from an online photo library like everyone else.

I think you’ve missed the point.

Ruby isn’t acknowledging the intellectual property of the artist no matter where she purchased the image. It’s not even a derivative design. It’s an exact replica that she’s allowing everyone to think is her own clever illustration that looks a bit like her middle child.

Ruby might not be dumb, but she’s not especially bright either and she’s really sneaky.

I work in a field where we buy imagery from shutterstock for our campaigns. Nobody credits the artists. We always use the exact art as is.

We don't claim it as our own but we don't say its not... The artists deliberately put their work into these forums to be used. Its all perfectly legit, legal and above board.

Influencers don't have to be the gold standard of business owners. They can be just like the rest of us just doing our best.

Tend to agree, it’s like the majority of printed designs we see - the graphic artist is never credited unless it’s a specific collab.

I asked ruby if she designed the image herself on her live this morning and she ignored the question everytime. I asked like 10 times 😳🙊

I think this illustration is more than just a graphic design purchased from a stock library. That’s extremely dismissive. It’s telling that Ruby won’t comment on the design.

The tarot deck was first released in 1909, so it’s a year or so out of copyright, but over one hundred million decks have been sold worldwide. The illustrator is the world’s most famous occult artist and vastly more interesting than Ruby Tuesday Matthews. The history of the illustration would provide a nice backstory to the robe and towel, and also acknowledge the intellectual property of a fascinating woman.

There’s not one influencer anywhere that couldn’t do better with minimal effort.
