Long time lurker here but only just created an account. I can actually say this is true haha. I follow Ruby on Instagram and I’ve been following the Lydia drama over on her thread. I went on Nickys profile right after Lydia posted her video and only 3 people I follow followed Nicky (all influencers) and Ruby wasn’t one of them. When Nicky posted on her stories saying she was going to do an IGTV, I saw that Ruby then followed Nicky (obviously had been stalking Lydia’s thread and wanted to follow Nicky to see her updates). Then after the 2 videos were posted, Ruby unfollowed Nicky. That person clearly noticed that too and Ruby obviously saw that comment and swiftly followed Nicky again so she didn’t look bad. It’s clear that from looking at comments on this thread that a few peoples opinions on Ruby have changed and mine certainly has too. I’ve gone on an influencer unfollowing spree and Ruby was one of them

These irritate the life out of me.
I think I’ve started to go off/dislike Ruby. Her content really is just the same now - affiliate links/ads and the same posts on the feed and posts of her dog. I really liked her when she used to show a bit more on her story, but more personality. Shame really, find myself tapping through her stories

Yep this is my problem, when I started following her which was a long time ago - she seemed really relatable and lovely. As relatable as you can be when you’re a WAG but I just find her content unrelatable now with the pricing, mostly because despite the fact I could probably afford some of it if I really wanted to - I simply wouldn’t spend the money she spends and not many normal people would because it’s unnecessary and money doesn’t always = nice or good quality. She doesn’t own the fact that she’s in a privileged position because of her family and Sam. I wouldn’t have a problem if she’d always marketed herself as luxury influencing but she doesn’t.making out she wears her boots to deathyeah I’m sure doing a few photos a week really wears them out. she had those chloe boots last year then sold them.
The issue for me with Ruby is that she still tries to pretend she’s normal ‘gal next door’. Lydia Millen and inthefrow don’t, they are full of themselves about being luxury and presenting a facade of luxury country living
Ruby should just own the fact she only buys high end and spends thousands every few months on ‘pieces’ and give up the pretence that she’s sooo normal just like everyone else. As for being an influencer, yes she is. But she also has the luxury of being selective about ads since she cohabits with a man who earns very well. Therefore she doesn’t have to scrabble around doing ads for misguided or oral B every week and can hold out for high end partnerships. So people think oh she’s a better influencer as she doesn’t do so many ads and buys more stuff her self. But she’s in a privileged position than alot of her peers because she’s so well off. That’s what rubs when she’s like heres a cheap disposable Zara haul followed by splashing cash on designer stuff. I doubt many women in their twenties can afford bottega boots.
I’ll give her her due that she does at least respond to DMs.
Think only certain places (main stream) are registered with the affiliate programme so there’s no money to be made in swipe ups for small businesses sadly.

Latest video showed over £100 on a winter candle and plate, £100s on baubles, £25 on just one! And the tree is apparantly not a forever tree, only until they have children - £1k on a temporary tree.
Losing touch with reality and the current climate I think, all so tone deaf

I don’t understand her. For someone who says they are so passionate about politics she doesn’t seem to grasp that people can have different opinions. She must throw a strop any time someone doesn’t agree with her. How draining she must be.

I’ve just had a scroll through her posts and given she’s got 212k followers - she really does not get that many likes does she? Some of these posts only have a couple thousand, not many go above 10-15k. Rarely. Good job she’s got Sam’s money behind her to not be so arsed about it
Came here to find her thread this girl.. I used to love her now she’s so un relateable Sam earns god knows how much a week but she would never ever mention it it’s so unrealistic for people that don’t know shes a wag ( because she tries to hide it anyway she can) another new designer handbag purchase today!

I’m sure I’ve seen her say about her brother not liking the attention and not wanting to be posted about. I could be wrong though! I generally like Ruby and I’ve followed her for a while, her style appeals to me and I like the outfits. I think she over explains herself sometimes though. I could tell she was well off or had money from her Zara haul videos...the basket total would be like £3-400 haha.

Ruby you wouldn’t know stress if it hit you with a brick. No one is forcing you to take these jobs on. I don’t think you are pleading poverty either so I’m sure you’ll manage fine taking on just 1 or 2. Also I think many influencer’s excessive promotions of Black Friday sales are quite tone deaf given the financial struggles many are facing. But I guess that’s an argument for another time.
Anyway the part that made me laugh was that she does ‘the hard work of trawling through the sites’Fuck off! I do that for a hobby and I’ll gladly do it for free!
So she’s earning money from her followers yet moaning about the struggles? Pur-lease she’s been gifted nearly a grands worth of freebies in the last few days alone.
Never hear of her giving it away / charity / refuge donations like other influencers.
