This came to my mind while listening to her nonsensical rambling about baahrds:

If you leave birdseed in your window sill, won't you just get a lot of birdpoop on your window sill?

What the flip - blue porridge, carrots, using a cup and a wooden spoon and a jar for water
Has she finally cracked?!!!

Her breakfast. I don't even care if it's blue. The teacup:

Her porridge in the teacup:

Good lord, with the pen cap next to it for size comparison and the fact that the teacup is also not filled to the brim, how big a portion was that exactly??

Thankfully she added 6 slices of banana and about 8 blueberries.

That's a hearty meal right there Ridiculous ed bating packaged as 'whimsical'.

Her “lunch” is even worse - her cucumber sandwich is a single slice of white bread cut in half, and then she has another slice with some whipped cream from a can, a sliced strawberry, and the world’s saddest cupcake, again with whipped “cream” because “I don’t like icing sugar.” She’s really veering back into the blatant ED baiting, and while she may just be looking for attention with this nonsense, I also have no trouble believing she has some sort of a problem with eating, because only a starved brain would choose three different carbohydrate-based elements and call it a meal after having had pure carbs for breakfast as well.

That'd be an insult to Liziqi & lot of other similar youtubers.

We're already insulting Lewis Carroll with this middle school lame video project. Why not a youtuber?
Besides, blueberries aside, blue food is hardly appealing. You know what they say, Blue food, blue turd. The proof is in the pudding!

It's also a lot of sugar. Ruby doesn't show much savoury food. It's always donuts, vegan snack bars, cupcakes, croissants, sweet pastries, fruit porridge, cakes and whatever else I'm forgetting to list. I'm not judging - I like sweet foods too - but it's just noticeable.

I think it’s because her diet is so restrictive already that she has to mask the blandness with some sort of flavor. The almond ‘cake’ probably has no flavor hence all the sugary icing. The porridge is the same way. It’s to mask having no flavor in the food she already eats. The only ’savory’ food I’ve seen her eat is like a plate of random assorted bargain bin looking vegetables with her family.

Spoiler slight ED talk
That’s what my friend who struggled with eating did as well, eat nothing and then just eat sweets all day

I think that Ruby probably relies on the sweets and sweet food for the quick hit of energy that she gets from them. I think that she prefers to 'save,' her calories to eat the sweet and the 'nicer,' foods that she eats during the day. I think that this was a it evident to me with the croissant that she said that she had for dinner in an Oxford video. I am just basing this with my own disordered eating. I am not sure how to explain the unusual food combinations such as the peas in the yoghurt or the cabbage water oats she made.
I am honestly surpriseed that Ruby has not tried or got a sponsership from Huel or any meal replacment shakes. Huel was very bad for advertising to students about how having it will make them more productive as you saved time with cooking. I could easily see Ruby advertising them as a meal on the go to help her productivity, especially since they are vegan ect.

RE: food combos -
When I worked with ED patients, it was an aim for some people to choose the 'correct' items to go into a meal and to avoid 'odd' items (like peas in porridge, ffs). Part of it was control, part of it was just not knowing anymore what food they wanted and being so hungry anything felt good. Part of it was trying to push the boundaries of treatment and part of it was to do with safe foods and combinations of them (peas = safe as they're a low calorie vegetable, porridge = safe as it's 'good carbs').

The advertisement showing her listening to academic texts on double speed confirms to me that she probably does this with other books to bump up her reading! I understand doing 1.2x for a slower narrator style but 2x is unhinged.

Thread title suggestion: Ruby, unhinged

Agreed, depending on the narrator's pace, 1.25 is reasonable, to my ear, but 2x is just a headache and you take nothing in. I did have to listen to an Agatha Christie book on 1.25x the other day because the narrator was so slow.

Get yourself someone who looks at you the way Roobs looks at herself through her phone camera

my mate is doing a literature masters at Oxford rn (different course to Ruby) but a 60% is a pass, you have to get 65% for a merit
When I did my masters 50%-65% was a pass (mine was integrated but had been changed a few years prior to be in line with the equivalent non-integrated master's course).

Me liking this as if I wasn’t just shaking replying to a simple email .

Difference between us and ruby on this one is that we understand that avoiding what makes us anxious just makes it worse, so we send the email anyway. We dont put it off for the bets part of a week.

The outfit...I'm speechless

I wish someone in Ruby's life would advise against outfits like this. Those chunky black shoes don't match with anything else she's wearing. The skirt is so creased, and in combination with the cardigan just makes her look like an elderly woman. Ruby's hair looks totally dishevelled too. I definitely wouldn't be posting a selfie like this on social media.
