I really wouldn't want to be in her shoes - she has chosen a masters that will be very difficult (and at Oxford). It won't be anything like doing an undergraduate degree and she will be competing against people who won't need Spark Notes. Fine to give it a go if she's interested, but also quite an intimidating prospect.

I have a question. I really don't know how things work in the UK school systems. But could this happen?

Ruby picked an obscure study so she could get into Oxford for her MA. She isn't even interested in the time period, but as it is not a popular one, it is easier to get into, so she tried for it and got in.

Once she gets there, maybe even takes some classes, could she changed her MA focus to one that she prefers and they would accept her, now that she has her foot in the door, or is that out of the question. In other words, we saw her change her major. Could she pull that one again at Oxford for her MA?

I am thinking no, because you were accepted for a very specific study and nothing else. But, like I said, if it is possible, I wouldn't put it past her.
Also gotta think of the amount of views and engagement a "I dropped out of my dream course at oxford university" would get ...

She might be doing it, but doesn't want anyone to know. That way she can later pretend she's a little genius who didn't have to do any prep...
It’s on her tyoo dyoo list for September so it’s definitely not time yet! She’s also got ”recuperate” or something tacked onto her September list, so i’m guessing she’ll be doing all the reading in the first week or so and then jetting off on another well-deserved holiday until it’s time to go to AXEFUD.

And if you learn it properly in an advanced academic setting, at a British university, she would not be reading Harry Potter but would be learning it in a way that’s actually helpful for her work. In those settings you absolutely focus on a grounding in grammar and then straight into (functional) academic translation. Again, she messes around and doesn’t ever optimise her work.

I know Ruby was 7 years younger in this photo than she is now but I think our Miss Bones looked really pretty & healthy then. Probably not entirely fair to comment on the clothes as it looks like a uniform but why for pity sake does she still sometimes dress as if she is still wearing a uniform to school. Seriously Ruby you are getting very slight. Look at that girl in the photo. That girl looked so healthy and actually really happy. Ruby, as far as I can see, you no longer look anywhere as genuinely happy and nowhere near as healthy. The girl in the photo looks a happy & health young lady. If she was try and take the spirit of that girl with you to Oxford.

So I’m queer myself and honestly forget that most of society does indeed see straight as a default. What was actually going through my mind when I wrote that post was almost feeling a bit protective of her (weird, not something I thought I’d say about Ruby!) but Kit Connor came to my mind. A young actor who felt like he was forced to come out because of so much online speculation about his sexuality.

But I totally hear you @coldestofspirits - on reflection I shouldn’t have added most of that last paragraph, wether it was intended as lighthearted or not, its totally hypocritical and goes against what I believe. Apologies for the lack of consideration there all. And thanks for helping keeping each other accountable.

This just came up in my YouTube recommended, just thought I would remind people how tone deaf Ruby can be. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with receiving so much but there is no need for her to show absolutely everything online, could just do a few things

(Also apologies for not interacting much lately, got final exams soon so sadly Ruby is not one of my priorities)

She will be expected to attend a few formal meals in Hall; other than that, it’s basically optional. I’m surprised she doesn’t want to use it for content, though. One of the illustrations in the planner looks like it’s based on a college Hall.

Yeah I presumed that she was going to Geneva straight after Florence too, yet she is back at home so IMO there was no reason for her to pack the extra bag.
"ACKSHUALLY, as AMMILY DICKINSON wonce wryote, "It isss BATTER tyooo beeee safe, than tyooo beeee not quoite as safe as you envisioned that yooou thought that you possibly VARRY MOCH moight be." And syoo that is whoiy oiy packed moiy ackstra bag, bot thankyou fwor your feedback. :) x"

That makes sense. That´s actually one the things that made me iffy about her MA, do students not have to know basics in latin for an MA in Early modern lit to even be accepted to the course? Where I´m from it´s mandatory to have had a certain amount of latin in school (or take extra courses later on at uni) when you want to study medicine, law, theology, archeology, ancient history etc. I first thought she might start learning it for her masters, but if that were the case she´d have to take actual lessons with a teacher imo
My inner city state school never taught us Latin 😭

Learning Latin as

Learning Latin as you said is a very private school thing, I went to private school and they offered it and my cousin did a degree in it but he studied it at his private school. Most of my uni friends are confused when I mention latin and classics lessons. Ruby is extremely privileged in that regard.
In France they offer it even in the lamest small secondary school and high school. It's usually the option that almost nobody wanted here, as it was view as boring but I'm still surprised that it seems something more like a "luxury"/private school for you. For us it's just like that weird class with three students.

Reposted to the correct page: I actually think Martha is so cringe sometimes. In the video shared in the last thread where she stares at the camera and says "WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY, WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY" presumably quoting the meme or whatever it is, and just pauses like it's funny. It's absolutely irritating and just so.... awkward and cringe? I can't explain it in better words, but it gives me secondhand embarrassment and makes me hard-click off her videos. Maybe it's the alleged drug use that makes her speak and act so weird, or maybe she just does it to try and fit in with the alt-quirky tiktok girl personality trope. Either way, I'm not a fan.

I just did a precursory search and didn't find it though? I found that Willowtree thing that was posted earlier, which I can safely assume isn't it, but it's most definitely not just there and easy to find.

I think there's cause for concern about both, the amount of people who say they have dreams about her and know her address in these threads 💀 I'd be more worried about that, if I were Ruby, than the comments on her account 💀

(I'm fully braced for the 'oKaY, RuBy' comments that always get rolled out like clockwork)
Did you really go out of your way to visit this thread and call us creeps?

What's in Ruby's uni bag/school bag. Don't care about that but what's in her future, carrying that lot about, is a bad back!!
