gays who remember ruby saying that she couldnt see any necessity to buy a ipad pro in her old ipad unboxing vedio?? I am impressed because I just bought my ipad pro 10.9 inch then...

Eve Bennett did a video last night basically saying she's done with youtube to focus on her journalism career. She said she always knew she never wanted to be a full time content creator and youtube was always just a hobby/side hustle. She seems very mature and grounded compared to the other former studytubers. I wonder if Ruby even wants a career or if she does just want to be an influencer forever. I think she could be ok at it if she focused on quality over quantity, she has found a niche that works for her with the old fashioned English countryside vibe but I don't see how she can sustain it forever if she just keeps recycling content and never improves her editing
Yes! And PaigeY is one of the one I think that actually opens the real career, much much better than Holly, who also graduated from Cambridge. I really respect Paige.

Last addendum to the latin topic, I promise! I forgot to mention that where I´m from it´s similar to what @Corneilya and @Ilaariaa wrote: latin is part of most schools curriculum (state/public as well as private school), so having had enough latin for certain uni courses is in most cases not really an issue. It´s very interesting to get to know more about how things work in the UK though, so thank you for all the input! 😊

As for driving: I´m from a city and in day to day life use public transport, so I rarely drive. However I think being at least able to drive a car is a certain life skill people should have if the circumstances allow it (ie being able to afford the driving lessons and other fees). I hope Ruby does finish her driving lessons and gets her driving license, it would be a huge step in the direction of reality that she´s not a 12 year old anymore.

Regarding her most recent video, I don't see an issue taking the taxi to and from work? I work nights and I don't drive. Also, I hate walking home in the dark so I book a taxi to pick me up when I finish my shift. I really dont see the issue?
I think it entirely depends on where you live and the situation. She lives near the school and is not walking in the dark. I live in the US. Taxis for commuting are okay in some cities, but can be very expensive and more rare as you move into the suburbs. I live in a rural area that doesn't even have taxi service. If you work, you have to walk or drive there. There isn't even a bus service available. This is the norm. At this point of her life, she has had plenty of free time and money to both learn to drive with a private teacher and buy a nice new car. But no. She, in all her disposable, highly privileged glory, went for the taxi over walking, biking or driving herself, like an adult. While I believe she started out having her Mommy drive her back and forth (I thought this was mentioned earlier) the students/teachers may have been making remarks and she ended up using a taxi as that would be so much more like a personal chauffeur!

Learning Ruby's surname isn't actually Granger feels so... bizarre. Not even the name itself, but how there's breadcrumbs in so many videos that when you realise it's kinda funny 😅

Chapter 1: A Graceful Encounter

Meet Clara Anderson, an elegant and charming middle-aged woman with a propensity for finding herself in amusingly awkward situations. Her days were occupied with running an art gallery, and her evenings were spent exploring the city's cultural events. But in between her sophisticated outings, Clara had a knack for tripping over her own feet or accidentally spilling coffee on herself, earning her a reputation for being endearingly clumsy.

Chapter 2: Love Takes Root

Amidst her occasional tumbles, Clara was blissfully married to her devoted husband, Alan. Their love story had unfolded over the years, starting as friends who shared a passion for art and poetry. As their bond grew stronger, they realized they had found something rare and beautiful in each other.

Yet, like any couple, they had their quirky moments. One such peculiarity was Clara's inexplicable fascination with the scent of Alan's armpits. It all began one evening when they were cuddling on the couch, and Clara caught a whiff of his unique aroma – reminiscent of warm, homemade tomato soup from her childhood.

checking Ruby's latest story slides got me confused... Jade has still been staying in Madeira up till now, right?
Probably Ruby using old photos from her meetup with Jade a while ago and passing them off as new to make it seem like she has a more active life than she does.

In a surprising flash of self-awareness, Roobee describes herself accurately for once. ”I am vacuous.” Yes you are, Roobee. Yes you are 🥹

I know that she means "my heart is filled with air and not with the things that I once hoped would live there", but the way she's phrased it sounds like she's forgotten the verb in the sentence.

Also helium doesn't work here, she should have used something that links to playing dress up in the clouds to be the thing that lifts her up so that the ideas connect better - nostalgia, wistfulness, even a boiled-down object that represents those feelings - birthday cake, ribbons in her hair, whatever. The reader would have understood that it was acting like helium in a poem about balloons and someone who has studied English Literature and LOVS WROITING especially should know this.

I think she's in for a rude awakening. I'm doing a distance MA while working (the same subject as my work, which helps a bit) and it is hard. There's just so much to read and I'm constantly aware of how little I know. I don't know how she is going to do it all in a year and the subject matter will be new to her, and possibly not that interesting to her really, given how she seems very drawn to Victorian Literature.
My masters was online as it was during COVID and it was really hard as the lecturers gave you little guidance which meant that you were left to fend for yourself on many occasions. As it was so stressful I nearly quit the course on 2 occasions but I stuck with it and ended up with a pass which I was delighted with.

That's pretty much what I did. Plus restocking the fridge. Because both me and my boyfriend actually have a life that's firmly rooted in reality. 😂
Restocking the fridge is for people who 1) actually eat and 2) aren’t privileged enough to live with a mummy and daddy who love them and get groceries and meal kits delivered.

She might've actually been quite smart with the early modern application. She has to take two core classes and write her dissertation on that period, but from the handbook it seems her other two classes can be from any period, so she'll get the chance to study American literature or Victorian literature if she wants to.

When all you want to do is to stay home and avoid the world, even a trip to the corner shop is an obstacle. I don't find it weird that the trip would be unnerving for her, anxiety is hell. I'd have sympathy if she weren't such a colossal liar.

I really want to know the after Oxford goal because clearly she doesn't know either. I know the degree is obviously just a flex (because she isn't even interested in Shakespearian stuff anyways....) It just frustrates me that she can just sit there acting so flippantly about her opportunity like she's Rory Gilmore when the grad degree program of my dreams won't take any more students because there isn't enough funding / students 🙄

Sorry you've been having a rough time. I hope you & your girls are doing OK.

Re: RG tattle. Honestly it's the same old same old when it comes to Rube the tube. She remains all posture & pretence. She hasn't posted much on getting into Oxford really.

I get the feeling as to others she's trying to get together a cookery book and some kind of poor man's version of 'A diary by an Edwardian Lady'. The original was well illustrated and well written. Ruby's as of it was written by an 11 year old to proudly show teacher. I would urge anyone who decides to buy it to remember to re-cycle it after use.

We should probably all prepare ourselves for a barrage of Oxford-centric videos. Each one I shall be delighted to click not interested. That's not even been unkind. I'm not interested in a 23 year old posing as a teen in a bid to stay relevant with young people five or more years her junior. Ruby is, imo, a complete sham.
Just like her Summer prepping video that only came out two weeks ago, I bet we won't see any Oxford-centric vids until around christmas time, several weeks after starting at Oxford. Simply because she is that lazy.

I am also an idiot who thought a candle like that is called a candlestick (although I have no interest in candles, unlike Ruby who is supposedly OBSASSED with them). But if anyone picked me up on it I would definitely have googled and realised my mistake, rather than blindly insisting what I said was right.
I thought they were called candlestick too, but mainly because candles like that are called „Stabkerzen“ in German, which reminds me of candlestick
