Jesus when did she do that?

Reading Harry Potter in Latin tells me she approached learning Latin like learning a modern language (that is, using things you're already familiar with). Which is a legitimate choice that some schools make but probably more trouble than it's worth. I never really got the point of that strategy since you're probably not gonna be talking to people or writing things in Latin. Latin is mostly used to translate classical texts using a dictionary. So imo it makes more sense to focus on what you need to do that (very good knowledge of grammar and translation techniques, mainly). Especially considering Latin is not even her academic focus area. Yes it's less fun but ultimately a lot more rewarding and efficient imo. Also Google Translate is rubbish at Latin
Source: studied Latin for five years and it was my favourite subject at school
Her whole "learning Latin" schtick made me immediately shake my head, it just screamed performative and to fit the dark academia aesthetic. I´ve also had latin in school for six years and had some courses with a bit of latin in uni (no translating, just working with latin terms and the ancient roman period). The way she approached learning it - at least according to what I could see on ig and yt - seemed very random. I also can´t imagine she´s getting anywhere with teaching herself latin without a teacher or at least any sort of former background (ie if I wanted to get into translating again I´d have to relearn a lot of things sure, but since I once learned the proper way of how to approach a latin text I would find it easier than someone who never had to translate something in latin.)

Ruby's released her 'NAYCHA JARRRNAL' facsimile (or "FASCimile", as Ruby spells it - and "FAKE-SMILE", as Ruby pronounces it).

For just £8+P&P, you can experience the magic of Ruby discovering what a sparrow is, or the wonder of her 398th poem of the year about seagulls.

And it wouldn't be Ruby merch if she just didn't bother sending stuff out. Right on cue, someone complains that they haven't received the poetry collection they paid for and right on cue, Ruby replies that it's "so strange" that the thing that always happens with her happened again.
She´s going to be an Oxford MA literature student and can´t even spell facsimile without a typo smh

Ruby wouldn’t like today’s kids anyway, they’re all glued to screens and silly videos instead of proper play :)

I miss the days before you could get rich on YouTube. The content used to be genuine.
This. I can't believe the number of young kids nowadays who aspire to be "influencers" when they grow up. It's not a damn job but it's very easy mone if you're lucky enough to get past other twenty gazillion channels who are also trying to be rich from social media. Ruby has lucked out big time, I wonder why she even keeps up this charade of an academic future. Just slap a Notion or a NordVpn spon on your crap video once every few weeks and you're sorted. Makes me angry.

I'm guessing her parents were on one of their many holidays that week.

It says a lot that her default option when it comes to transport is to inconvenience other people and rely on mummy and daddy to ferry her wherever she wants, up and down the country, whenever she wants.

It's also extremely revealing that when that option is taken away, she immediately resorts to blowing money on taxis to take her 5 minutes down the road and back for her 3 hour work day rather than walk or cycle, after spending years trying desperately to convince people that she happily walks several miles a day for fun as part of her VARRY PRODOCKTIVE SCHADULE.

She's just lazy and entitled, and that's fine if she has the money to waste and can't be bothered to walk, cycle or get a bus, but she should just say that. "I was feeling tired from doing nothing this week and really couldn't be bothered with walking. Money isn't an issue for me and I only work at the school to pad my CV a bit, so the cost isn't a problem. Given the option of hard work and convenience, I'll take convenience every time. Better the money go to someone who works hard than sit in my bank, am I right?" Instead, she lies, and her getting taxis everywhere when it's not cost-effective and she has other options she claims to prefer simply doesn't track with any of the fake stuff she claims every week.

It's yet another dead giveaway that all her claims that she's SYO SOSTAINABOL AND REDDYOOCES CARBON EMISSIONS WHEREAVVER POSSIBOL and LOVES TYOO WALK AND COICLE AVVERYWHAAAR and IS SYO VARRY FRYOOGAL are all lies. It should be blatantly obvious by now that every time she claims she goes for a 15 mile walk or goes on 7 "RONS" a day, she's literally just filming herself running in circles in her yard for a minute or walking to the end of the lane and back and passing it off as a mammoth expedition amongst her list of fake tasks.
Do we know the distance between her job and her house?
Because if it's literally 5 minutes down the road then there's no reason why she had to take a taxi. Like, Jesus. I get that it's August and it's really hot but she really couldn't walk or cycle for 5 minutes instead of blowing money on a taxi?

Ignoring the fact that when you accept a job offer, even a phony one like this one, you have to make sure you have the ability to get to work and back independently. You can't always rely on your parents who have their own life and jobs (well her parents don't but you know what I mean). I could accept that from a 16 year old with their first summer job, not a 23 year old recent graduate. She works for 3 hours a day in the middle of the day, it's not like she would have to walk home in the dark.

  • 2 big pencil cases, when for most of the sessions she’ll be writing on her ipad. I love stationery, but there comes a point where it’s silly to carry two full pencil cases around to lectures when also taking electronic devices.
You’d think with her professed love for busywork, she’d welcome the opportunity to just bring one type of note-taking apparatus and rewrite notes to her heart’s content when she gets back to her accommodation.

I don't own any Apple products, but to be fair, I did buy a Surface Laptop 4 last year when I already had a working Chromebook because I was tired of having to manually install and setup software that wasn't native to the device. I don't know which iPad she upgraded from and I hate to defend Ruby, but Apple does have the issue with slowing down devices and taking away features that they include in new upgrades after updates.
I think your case is different.
First of all she doesnt have a job that requires use of a tablet, let alone an ipad. Her degree or career path does not require use of a tablet, let alone an ipad.
She can easily manage her school and yt work via pen paper and her mac (or the sponsored lenovo laptop too i guess).
Her "need" of a new ipad is due to her being a priviledged, spoiled brat.

Let’s hope she’s using the end of the academic year for her make-believe to-do lists, because on the face of it, it just looks like she fucked up and put in the wrong dates 😂🤦 Also, this just in:

I wonder why the server isn’t being used, Rootoraptor. Could it be… *drumroll’ because YOU vanished into thin air and emerged two years later frolicking on the green, sponsored fields of Fable?
Why has it took her 2 years before commenting on the fact that the server is hardly been used? I swear she hasn't been updating Fable either because the book club pick is still The Great Gatsby.

She really just stopped using her fake, high-pitched voice out of nowhere, eh? How many videos has it been? 4? 5?

Also, I know I'm being petty but I really hate the color of her socks lol so ugly

Screenshot (608).png

Also, she didn't show how the popcorns turned out. Safe to assume she burned it to crisps. Anything less tragic, she would have proudly showed it off.

I'm amazed they are going for another round of the planners? Didn't they have to drop the price of the last lot, as they weren't shifting? 🤔 Maybe this might be a last hurrah because she's off to Oxford and an academic planner is still relevant and 2 fans might want them. Next year though, who knows? 🤷‍♀️

During/after covid, therapists realised they can utilise zoom for accessibility for patients with high anxiety or other disabilities that can make it harder/not possible for them to visit in person. It also can be used for people who live further away but want or need to see a specific therapist. I see my therapist via zoom (before covid I was seeing her in person) but since Ruby regularly traverses the globe with no issue I don’t see there being any reason for zoom sessions other than laziness or not wanting travel and waiting time to eat into her pretend productivity time
Let’s be real, she’s just found someone who will enable her and tell her she’s not the one who needs to work on herself. It’s like her fanbase only she pays them, so it must be legit.

The only 'summery' activity on her list is reading outside (which she also did in the middle of the night and during other seasons).

It’s on her tyoo dyoo list for September so it’s definitely not time yet! She’s also got ”recuperate” or something tacked onto her September list, so i’m guessing she’ll be doing all the reading in the first week or so and then jetting off on another well-deserved holiday until it’s time to go to AXEFUD.
I hope she comes back home early enough to have the time to reset after that holiday and then reset after resetting before AXEFUD(😂😂😂) starts...

I’ve looked at her course specifications and her Nyotion list for pre-reading is not even half of all the ”essential reading” listed. Then there’s also ”recommended” and ”further” reading, but f*ck all that I guess. In her tiny little mind, you read one book per week max, and maybe a couple of academic articles, and then you just bluff your way through a seminar with a little help from SparkNotes.
This just makes it more obvious that she does not have an interest in this course because if she did she would have done all of her pre-reading by now. If she thinks that SparkNotes is going to help her with the course then she is in for a rough ride IMO.

God I’d love a documentary of her wandering around the rough parts of Glasgow. She’d faint if she came here. Not least because she’d get called out on her bullshit if she started it in public.
Patiently awaiting a Maryhill big Tesco vlog 💀

Oh yeah I love Emmie!! I've been watching her for two years now. Do you have any other recommendations?.
Unfortunately, I do not. It's hard to find genuine booktubers lately. I suspect because a lot of YouTubers (including Ruby) realized you can make a lot of money through sponsored content, so a lot of their videos are sponsored, and then the ones that aren't are still somewhat treated like sponsored videos because you have to put on a persona for sponsors to want to continue to work with you. I miss the days before you could get rich on YouTube. The content used to be genuine.

Also she’s saying she plans to do all her pre-reading in September, but she’s also fucking off to Scotland again next week, so who knows if she’ll ever get around to any of it.
Remember, at Exeter she had the revelation that you don't actually have to do all your course readings and the suggested readings to pass the class. Of course, now she won't have Blakeney's notes to rely on, so I'm just gonna wait until she posts another video bashing the grader for not giving her a high enough score on her essay. Maybe then she'll realize in an English degree you have to actually study English texts.
