The fact she’s a Jenny a mustard fan…. Another girlie with body image issues she projects time to time in her videos (like when her husband was losing weight she also went on a diet, like she’s always been naturally thinner as most Swedes seem to be but lately she looks gaunt).

Also, she didn't show how the popcorns turned out. Safe to assume she burned it to crisps. Anything less tragic, she would have proudly showed it off.

I think her logic is that helium balloons are usually a birthday party staple, but it's still a mess of a metaophor to hinge a whole poem on.

At this point though, I'm not entirely convinced that ChatGPT didn't write this for her after she fed in some prompts. "ChatGEEPEETEEEEAAAA, please wroyte me ayyy sad pyoem about choyldhud, barrthdayyys and the fear of growing opp and not being as spashal as you'd hyoped, with a central mattaphore about balyoons thankyouplease." And then she just banged the enter key at random points.

1. Complains about the heat, then wears pants, black clothes, and a long dress.
2. Goes to Italy, surrounded by some of the most amazing culture, remarks that she is mostly there to be with Blakeney, but then reads on her own.
3. Blakeney stills seem rather wary of the camera. Maybe not video her standing at the top of stairs, looking up her shorts? I mean, come on, Rubes.
4. Woman has no idea how to dance. Someone give her lessons.
5. Found swings. Let's be childish again! Multiple shots of twirling. Seriously? Blakeney looked like she was going to trip over her own feet.
6. "We are on our way to Pizza!" omg
7. For everything super interesting she supposedly did, she forgot to vlog it! What a surprise!
8. Rather boring video. I would have liked to seen more of the sights, a lot less of Blakeney's butt or Rubbish's face. Too much of "us" going on.
9. Reminds us. again, how grateful she is to have found time to spend with her best friend, who lives in the same country as her, but hasn't seen in a year.

I only watched about five minutes before I got bored but I guess there are some positive signs? She's actually interacting with someone again who's not a family member and she seems a fairly confident traveller now. It's better than writing poetry and attempting crafts in her room all day or making her 403rd routine video.

I've changed my mind on Oxford and I think she'll be able to stick it out during term-time at least, especially since the terms are only eight weeks long.

The terms are eight weeks but that is mainly for undergraduates. Realistically you need to be working outside of that to complete a taught masters (like the one Ruby is doing).

However, I don’t think she will drop out. I think she will make excuses, get extensions, and possibly cheat a bit.

True, although I'd imagine all the work outside of terms can be done from home, with maybe a weekly or fortnightly trip to the libraries.

Another holiday video of a beautiful place that Ruby makes look like the most boring place on Earth.

Endless amounts of recycled TikTok footage.

Endless shots of Blakeney walking away from camera - unintentionally symbolic of her seemingly (and understandably) wanting nothing to do with Ruby post-graduation unless there's a holiday or gifted event to enjoy.

Three different aspect ratios, seconds apart. Ruby, you're not Christopher Nolan and this isn't an Imax movie; pick an aspect ratio and stick with it, for god's sake.

All the usual clipped, overlapping audio.

Wind blasting the camera mic yet again.

Ruby claims that visiting Italy wasn't as important as the "JANUINE, unsolicited toiyme" with her BASST FRAND BLAYKEKNEEEEEEEE. In what sense is this unsolicited time if you planned it, paid for it and invited someone else to it, then - rather than enjoy it and live in the moment - you spent the trip with a camera in hand filming, using the other person as a posable prop in a sloppy YouTube video made to impress others? This is the very definition of solicited time, but Ruby continues to not know what words mean.

Ruby's incredibly forced 'list three things in awkward prose' narration when describing places. ("Thaaar whhaaar toyled ryoof-tops and bwookstwalls and narrowstone wawlkways between closely-packed bwuildings.")

The 'recording' overlay being slapped on-screen multiple times for no reason at all.

I hope Ruby's paying her BASST FRAND BLAKEKNEEEEEE royalties for this video or paid for her trip, especially since she'll be using B-roll from it for years to come.

The almost obsessive way she talks about Blakeney and how VARRY FWORTUNATE AND PRIVILEGED she is to be able TYO SPAND TOIYME WITH HAHHHRR BASST FRAND BLAKENEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE continues to be bizarre.

She ends the video by talking about how we should awwwwl reach out to our FRANDS and spend time with them while we can, while showing slo-mo footage of Ruby and Blakeney walking into the far distance as slow, melancholy piano music plays.



Completely unintentionally on Ruby's part, because she doesn't read books or watch films, it totally reminded me of the final scene from Stand by Me.



With how melodramatic Ruby's being about how short life is and how all her time with Blakeney was so precious, she makes it seem like one or both of them are dying from some terminal disease. I totally expected an epilogue scene where Ruby explained that Blakeney died shortly after this video was made.


She does, however, let someone else say more than a sentence in her video, which is at least a sentence more than she's ever let anyone speak uninterrupted before.

And while still using her fake Emma Watson accent, she does a pretentious reading of an extract from a book she's never read without going overboard on her fake whimsical 'OIY'M SMOYLING AT AVVERYTHING AND SHAKING MOIY HAD AT THE WHIMSY OF IT AWLLL' cadence.

That these tiny baby steps are the most progress Ruby's made as a person in her entire YouTube career is hilarious.

This is so petty but I get the ick from Ruby’s “Choose Kindness” t-shirt. It reminds me of those studies people have done about how clothes for little girls are full of slogans about kindness and all that stuff while little boys’ clothes are all about adventure and being wild, a monster, etc. Ruby is (1) not a kind person at all; (2) basically just performative in everything she does, and has been since she was a teenager; (3) aping that “kindness” rhetoric because she thinks it makes her look like a good person and that people therefore shouldn’t criticise her.

No. Eww. Ruby, you’re not a six-year-old with your Mummy buying ill-conceived shirts for you from Next. Learn to be kind before plastering the word all over yourself.

It's also a PETA shirt, even though Ruby haughtily assured all her fans that she would NAVVER, AVVER promote or advertise PETA (said while she was wearing PETA shirts and using PETA phone cases).
