Stop. Posting. Pictures. Of. Your. Food. Particularly when you’re desperately highlighting the fact that you’re eating 2 slices of bread. Christ. It really is disturbing that she can see all the comments (here and on Insta) about people being triggered and she just keeps doing it. That goes beyond being performative, beyond attention-seeking, that’s actively malicious. I’m getting horrific flashbacks to my best friend having an ED and trying to help her, I can’t imagine what it’s like for people who actually struggled with one.

Ruby, you are actually hurting people here. I know we make fun of you for the supposed bullying you experienced, but fine you felt targeted by cruel people who made your life miserable. Do you not see that you’re doing the same here?? You could potentially seriously hurt someone with your behaviour right now. EDs kill people, and you are doing everything in your power to trigger disordered eating in your young, impressionable audience. Do you not see how serious this is?? You’re not a child, and this isn’t a game.

Also just as people start commenting more on insta about her weight + appearance, she suddenly magically appears back on her bookclub. Coincidence?

Personally, I’ve never had an ED so I never thought I’d comment on something like this, but this picture made me really sit up and take notice because whenever watching her content before I’d always notice, just in passing, how small her hands looked but in this video they look so much bigger in comparison to the rest of her body! I know a lot is to be said of the camera angle, not wearing sleeves, generally growing from 18 to 21 but it’s just such a small thing that’s so noticeable that it really knocked me sidewards - I hope that makes sense

Gonna be mentioning EDs here for anyone who doesn’t want to read it pls just scroll past my ramblings, I suffered with bulimia (still do I suppose) severely for about 8 years, I see a lot of how I behaved more so when I was ill when I was young In how ruby is now, I was a dancer and felt so much pressure to look a certain way but looking back it was pressure I’d set on myself, I think ruby is the same way she puts pressure on herself to be a certain way that nobody could possibly be all the time. I also didn’t have a very good home life so I almost wanted to be ill so people would take notice and worry which is something I do think she does as well, difference is I was 12 and doing it so people I loved would worry whereas ruby is 21 and posting it online and though she’s clearly sick she should know better, even if she didn’t at first, a lot of people have told her that her content has become triggering. It’s murky waters really because she’s ill she’s not in full control but she is an adult who is educated on the matter.
I remember in the gurugossip days people speculated she had an ED and I suspect the pandemic has probably made it worse for her since she’s had nothing go focus on, I’m in the same boat so I sympathise. I think an internet break would do her and her followers good, she’s living up to an image she’s set herself but the image is impossible to live up to,

also just like to add it seems a lot of us suffer/have suffered with stuff like this and I truely hope you’re all healing and happy!

There are comments about her ed already on that new post. How long do you reckon she will actually ignore them? She doesn’t owe anyone to talk about her personal problems, but I’m curious if they keep popping up with this new frequency will she keep ignoring them, or be prompted to change how triggering some of the posts are? Surely - aside from the ed probably loving the fact that people are calling her thin - she would be finding the comments quite embarrassing or confronting…? I mean aside from family seeing them, it’s such a huge audience. If this were happening on my social media at the start of my ed, I’d have been mortified and probably thrown my phone into the mouth of a whale to get away from it all
Yeah seriously... I don't have a perfect relationship with food, but I've never had an ED so I don't know what it's like, but I've been accused of having one twice (both because I was reading food labels since I have severe food allergies or refusing food I might have been allergic to) and both times I was absolutely mortified. Surely Ruby is embarrassed at this point? I know these might just be affirmations of her behavior to her, but people thought to have EDs are treated pretty harshly... (I'm no expert but I assume people need help and love, not angered yelling.) Both times people mistook my food allergy-behavior for an ED they were super hostile and I was freaked out so much I could barely think ("I didn't think YOU'D be doing that!!" "You HAVE to EAT!!" ...and I'm just stuck trying to explain that I really can't eat certain ingredients or I might die, so I have to know what's in my food; it's not psychological; it's a very real autoimmune response)

nothing particularly intelligent or interesting! I don’t know The Picture of Dorian Grey well enough to comment on it, though I will point out that it’s “in practice” not “in practise” lol

She couldn't go 24 hours without doing it again after being forced to remove yesterday's and "apologise" and I imagine being called out by Molly for it privately. It's baffling. She's completely braindead. She's deliberately baiting people now, if she wasn't before.

She's a studytuber. Why is food half of what she posts about? She has a separate vegan Insta precisely for this tit, yet she puts it where it has the most visibility and has the most (negative) impact.

Ruby, just stop bleeping doing it! It's not rocket science. If you won't change, then just make your tiny, unhealthy meals and eat them privately, don't knowingly throw it in the faces of people who're either going to learn dangerous habits or are trying to recover and don't need or want ED triggers from a brainless productivity vlogger.

Hi, long time lurker and first time poster here.
I know I’m not saying anything that hasn’t been said already in the last couple of days but, god, I’m appalled at what she’s doing.
For the longest time I naively thought she was just a very sheltered rich girl who wasn’t really aware of how inconsiderate she came across sometimes. But having people both here and on her IG comments openly saying how triggering her content is, and now having a real life friend/acquaintance (who visited her like, what, 3 weeks ago?) unfollow her because of it too and still posting food pictures which I’m not sure anybody’s really interested in watching and awful outfit of the day videos to show off how small she’s getting is… almost evil.

And also, damn, she has no sense of style whatsoever.

Aaaand she’s dirty deleting. The comments calling her out are gone from her latest post, and she’s deleted the entire video with the tragic yellow dress.

Someone on her recent IG post asked what happened between her and Molly so I explained and I went back to check if they had replied, but the comment is gone 💀 she's obviously not wanting anyone to talk about it.

Even if you yourself can’t see there is a problem (this is common with EDs and I speak from personal experience.) Ruby can still READ. She can read the comments, she knows that people are comparing, finding it triggering and yet she keeps going.

What’s more, the comments of concern re her weight loss now far outstrip any begging for more OOTDs. So any argument that she is “giving people the content that they want” cannot be true.

That is what I cannot forgive. That she is continuing to post this content KNOWING that people are affected. As for the toast picture - in my eyes, that’s only reinforcing my fears that she has an ED, as this is a common thing when people hate been “called out” or others express concern. Food becomes performative to make it look like they’re fine. But as even Ruby herself acknowledged, we don’t know the context.

Jessie Paege (YouTuber) spoke about how she did this. Tanya Burr posted photos of food more when she lost a lot of weight. Emily Canham also does it. Even I remember I used to do it when I came home from Uni or was visited by my family at Uni. I won’t go into detail as I don’t want to trigger, but I went out of my way to make it look like I was eating fine so they wouldn’t panic about me.

So... "Dorian Gray is a study of the negativity of judging something solely by its appearance, now lets judge the beauty of books by their physical appearance! And, hey, we should pick a book purely because it has 'picnic' in the title!" There's just zero self-awareness here.

If you're an admin for the club and you're reading this: Overthrow this clown and ban her from the book club. (Although Picnic at Hanging Rock (and the film) are great, please don't let this moron pick books for you based on the "aesthetic" of it.)

Picnic at Hanging Rock is also about a bunch of Victorian-era schoolgirls who mysteriously vanish without a trace and Ruby dresses like a Victorian schoolgirl and should really just vanish from the internet without a trace.
