So I borrowed her book from the library and I really wanted to like it but it just wasn’t for me, I initially read the first few chapters and then flicked through it. So boring, literally a chapter about each boyfriend and what they got up to. Now if they had have been celebs I might have been a bit more interested but honestly, it really wasn’t very exciting at all. I’m happy she found love, got married and had a baby, but yeah, the book wasn’t for me.

Easily, with a decent agent. But I guess her not having visas sorted etc would have made it a difficult feat in Ireland.
I think its obvious that the agents/publishers weren't biting. I really doubt anyone would choose the crowdfunding approach if they had access to an actual publishing house.
Like, its better than self published, but still doesn't look like they were well set up to cater to someone with a predominantly Irish audience and the whole thing ended up being a bit of a shitshow for people who pledged early (and over the odds).

Oh definitely but I don't think any agents were biting because 1) she's based in the US now, a US agent wouldn't know what to do with her and 2) I don't think she made much of an effort with any irish agents

Do they mention why Beatrice lost her job on the podcast? I dip in and out but haven't come across it if they have.

Her latest stories are a perfect example of her immaturity, disconnection to what is actually going on in Ireland and self absorption.
Anyone who was disappointed with her book, have a read of Bryony Gordons’ The Wring Knickers. It is everything you wanted from Rosemarys’ monologue.

I was more horrified by her thinking that she’ll develop a Old Money Stylish vibe by growing out her roots.
This works well on women who are usually older, have an actual sense of style and carry themselves well.
Not someone with frizzy curls wearing a moo moo in hick county, USA.

duck off this with milennial white woman rit, we're not all the same as you
I thought the same when I saw that. I'm a couple of years younger than Rosemary and really couldn't give a rit about Taylor Swift, have no idea who the bloke is and cannot imagine saying 'Tay Tay'.

I agree with whoever said that about Rosemary thinking she would look expensive by letting her roots grow. For that to happen your whole vibe has to be expensive, your hair has to be glossy, your clothes well fitted etc. That's not really Rosemarys look.

You live in America love, 10 days holiday, no time off for maternity appointments, no maternity leave, no healthcare, you work until you die….except Rosemary!
