There is a young mother in her areas dying from cancer that has come back and here you have this balloon on making out like she has a life sentence.

Friends have started a GFM. Though personally I don’t see the need for these GFMs that raise huge sums of money for individuals. Charities could support multiple families with such a singular cash boost.

This is going to make me sound mean and horrible, but these GFM things are frying my head! I am sorry for anyone going through a tough time or facing a tragedy, it's truly horrendous, but since when has it become the publics responsibility to ensure that an individual with a terminal illness or a family who lost their home in a fire are compensated or funded by the public? It may sound harsh, but these GFM pages raise so much money with very little accountability after funds are raised. Look at Scamen Joyce... all that money raised and where is it? What was it used for? If folk want to give their hard earned cash to these things, there should be accountability and transparency for those who donate, there isn't! Maybe I am out of line here, but in my mind, there's no amount of money in the world that could ever help ease the pain of a loved passing with a terminal illness. Help xyz make memories... that's usually the tag line, memories are cuddles at home, trips to the seaside, adventures out and about in the country/area you live in, not mega bucks on trips abroad surely? A person local to me, with three young children, lost their partner very tragically... a GFM was started to help the widow and her children... over £70,000 raised for 'funeral expenses' yet the individual who died was insured and the family will receive huge compensation because of the way the person passed... another one local to me was set up after a young mother died tragically, to pay for 'funeral expenses' huge sum of money raised, £59k, funeral was paid for, headstone was purchased, balance of the money bought Christmas presents for the two kids left behind ( Christmas was weeks after the mum passed) the partner drank and drugged his way through the remaining money aided by 'friends' until 16 months later he was found dead after a drug binge... so the GFM idea for me is a no no, having had terminal illness destroy two immediate family/friend circles in recent months, I can think of nothing worse than setting out a begging bowl asking strangers for help! Rant over

Sure she shaved her head and had us all wondering if something was wrong - attention seeking

all the drama and stories and tears around closing the shop to make us all think something horrendous was happening rather than her just messing up taxes and being landed with a tax bill cos she spent the money instead

Never heard of Roisin until her post appeared on my feed, none of that post made sense and it was all about her. Of course I came straight here to see if she had a post. What a strange woman! Implying that her child was kidnapped, absolute narcissistic behaviour!

The complaint about the wait highlights what it’s like for many of us using the NHS. If I remember rightly she paid for private scans ect when pregnant so why could she not do the same regarding the BCC testing and results. Perhaps she was gifted those though.

I was in a similar position during covid, red flagged for a year when the target was four weeks. I have private insurance but they couldn’t cover me as I’d previously had cancerous cells removed. Got a call one day from the Trust to say they legally had to do the procedure to remove the abnormal cells for testing as I’d been on the list too long, luckily all came back negative twelve weeks later.

If she’d worded it in a way that acknowledged the underfunding in NI or the avoidance of our politicians regarding the transformation needed in our healthcare sector I’d have respected her position more. She’s promoting her story but takes no time to reflect on the nuances that influence our experiences of the NI healthcare system.

I’ll give her kudos though as I’ve friends who would be pre holiday sunbed users who’ve all remarked on her story as influencing them to stop.

The northern ireland family court system is diabolical, been through it myself. Childs father never ever ever been on the scene. But the court where kind to him, but put me through hell. I won in the end, but was a horrific experience. No matter whose at fault, that must be been a horrific experience for abbi and roisin weather you like her or not. How the school let her go without an approved pick up is beyond me.

I really feel for Roisin / anyone getting this news’ & dealing with this and it’s great to spread awareness..
But Roisin needs to spread awareness whilst realising this isn’t a journey that only she has been on!! It’s crazy to me…
I feel like some of the things she says are really insensitive to other people’s diagnosis & journeys with cancer

I honestly think I'd lose my mind if she tries to make money from this,
I do think she likes to big things up, as much as I feel for her, she is no more special than anyone else living with cancer, I haven't read the story, but if she if moaning about having to wait, while there is others worse off like yourself, she would seriously need to give her head a shake, I hope you are getting the help and care you need and deserve
