Er, that's not how it works. It's rare to find a rich person who doesn't want to be even more rich.In a way it might be good as he's so independently wealthy, even before considering his wife's wealth, that means he won't need to constantly be looking to how he can make more money after office.
The problem with Sunak being gone is that he is the only person in the Cabinet with 2 brain cells. Who will replace him? Naive Dorries? Jacob Rees Mogg? The main headline on BBC news earlier was "chancellor's wife spends 30k a year to maintain tax status", they've updated that articles headline now. Such an own goal.
It's mainly helping labour although I wouldn't be suprised if no 10 was behind some of the leaks like saying sunak blocked rasing benefits.
I highly doubt Johnson will run again, I'm surprised he lasted this long.
In a way I'm annoyed that sunak will be gone soon and won't help clear up the mess he bares responsibility for. But a full clear out of the current lot of Tories at the top isn't a bad thing either.
And I'll bet good money that it'll still be Boris come 2024, and it's a given that the Tories will win the election again, because Boris is their best chance of winning the election.I'm actually suprised how quickly the tables have turned for Rishi actually.
All of this helps the PM, there's a whole heap of financial pain and misery coming our way and if Rishi is the face of it, it gives Boris a better legacy/chance come 2024.
A complete outsider Is going to be Tory Leader come 2024 mind, I'd bet good money on it.
