Bumping with last week's private eye cover that just gets more relevant by the day. The arrogance must be off the scale to have not sorted the Russian business operations and the non dom tax staus! It would have been a good business move to close the Russian offices before it hit the headlines and attracted all the bad publicity for infosys.

For me it's that last week Sunak was saying his wifes finances were nothing to do with him and should be ignored. You can tell he's never applied for universal credit where your partner's finances are very much included! Try telling HMRC or benefits office that your partners finances are nothing to do with you and see how far you get.

It's totally irrelevant that they've decided now to pay a fair amount of tax. No one will forget how badly they managed this and took ages to come to the morally right decision.

In a way it might be good as he's so independently wealthy, even before considering his wife's wealth, that means he won't need to constantly be looking to how he can make more money after office.
Er, that's not how it works. It's rare to find a rich person who doesn't want to be even more rich.

He's a slimy dull piece of shit.

He's got untold money. So doesnt need to chase that primarily.
He wants power now. More power.
Exactly this.

He was given far too much credit for far too long. At least he's blown his chance to be PM.

Hopefully we won't get any more of the dreadful photo ops like pretending to be a server at wagamamas or borrowing a supermarket workers car to appear more normal.

Jokingly comparing himself to Will Smith I didn't think was the greatest idea last week. No surprise it's escalated. Today using the same argument that amazon / facebook / google use over their tax is hardly a good look - "Mrs Sunak pays all the tax she is legally required to"

Yes his wife is a private citizen that has never been a part of public office, but her husband has pursued this public life and presumably their finances are linked. Haven't family members of politicians always faced scrutiny?

I don't have an issue with someone very wealthy like Sunak having the second most important job in the country as they can still do the job and anyone that reaches that office will be so far removed from normals. In a way it might be good as he's so independently wealthy, even before considering his wife's wealth, that means he won't need to constantly be looking to how he can make more money after office.

He shouldn't have been given such a halo in the first place for dishing out the money. Especially as so much was unnecessarily wasted long into covid when it could have been better managed and he needlessly pumped house prices. Turning out to be a gift for the labor party.

Is there another thread for Fishi? Or shall we wake this one up, now that he has somehow become PM?

He looks like a little pixie in this picture from Egypt today :ROFLMAO:

Well well well, what a tangled web.

Looks like Rishi has also being fined. I wander if he’ll pack it all in and quit.
There were no parties.
I did not allow any parties.
I did not attend any parties.
Sue Gray will decide if I went to any parties.
I did not know they were parties.
The police will decide if there were parties.
Parties are old news and we have more pressing issues.
I have been fined for attending parties, and so has my wife !
I may appeal against the party findings.

I think this whole mess shows sunak isn't nearly as clever as he's given credit for.

It was all to predictable that the Russian offices and tax avoidance would become a pr disaster. And for both of them they eventually gave in after it mounted up and up rather than nipping it in the bud immediately. So easily avoided.

Someone REALLY has it in for Rishi. Im not condoning any of this, but you have to wonder why its all coming out now? It’s never been a secret that his wife is richer than the Queen and that her family are one of the richest in India. If I was a member of this government I’d be bricking it right now, especially if I had a few skeletons in the closet.

The mail have just published this along with unflattering photos. Can't see them being in the country come next winter.

Rich people being devious with money and making the rules for us during the most difficult financial times that most have ever know is near impossible to recover from.

HMRC investigations in grey areas often take years don't they?

Rishi Sunak's wife in £4m loan riddle: Tax experts call for investigation into whether Akshata Murty broke non-dom rules by lending money to her UK company with no interest charges

  • Experts call for investigation into if Akshata Murty broke non-dom status terms
  • They said personal loans to her venture capital firm fall into a 'grey area' of rules
  • On Friday, the Chancellor's wife had agreed to pay UK tax on her global fortune
The taxman has been urged to investigate whether the Chancellor's wife broke the terms of her non-dom status by giving her UK company £4.3 million in interest-free loans.

Richest man in Parliament shows how completely out of touch he is once again. This is fucking obscene - the prick has no empathy at all. Wish the homeless shelter had told him to fuck off.

I'm actually suprised how quickly the tables have turned for Rishi actually.

All of this helps the PM, there's a whole heap of financial pain and misery coming our way and if Rishi is the face of it, it gives Boris a better legacy/chance come 2024.

A complete outsider Is going to be Tory Leader come 2024 mind, I'd bet good money on it.

Reading this morning that his family have moved out of No 11.
The story changed pretty quickly. Last night after movers turned up it was his wife and children were moving to their Kensington home and he'd stay at no 11 and go down the road to Kensington to be with them at weekends. This morning they've all moved out apparently.

Maybe he'll stay for a few weeks more until the elections, then quit to take the fall for that disaster?

If I was her I'd be fuming; her name being dragged through the mud for a perfectly normal thing that the super super world elite do, the Easter holiday to Santa Monica was cancelled (is it a holiday if it's visiting your own house) and the final straw would be papped on the street. If I had her kind of wealth I wouldn't want to deal with all this when life could be so much easier😆.
