There are, and one of them is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail. There is a vow of silence between newspaper owners not to talk about what the other has done/tax arrangements/children in trouble etc.

The only one who ever broke it was Richard Desmond, who fell out with Rothermere over a business deal when owned the Express. He printed out the fact that Rothermere's father was a bully and had driven Rothermere mother into alcoholism, and that had left her to live with a another woman in Paris, splashed out about Rothermeres own behaviour and started starting about Rothermere tax arrangements about how his accountancy didn;t fit in with the Daily Mail campaign for tax transparency.

Rothermere and Desmond soon came to an 'arrangement' and nothing else was announced....

I remember this! The DM went after Dirty Desmond for his business interests in the porn industry. IIRC the ‘arrangement’ included not mentioning the non-dom/porny stuff.

It definitely was to do with protecting from the outfall of Brexit registering a fund in Ireland and he's a total idiot lying through his teeth over this.

It's just often totally misrepresented this whole "moving to Ireland" thing. No company upsticks and moved, a fund was opened in a high growth market. But I guess an accurate headline won't get the clicks.

Anyway back to Sunak, he's had such an easy ride so far. He might just have to face the normal kind of scrutiny that people in the cabinet get.

Sunak had an easy time giving out the money, and I think (fair enough, and I'm not how many of us wouldn't) the publicity went to his head, and he started scheming to become PM as thought Johnson would be toast sooner rather than later.

Well it depends on what you classify as rich. The sunaks have a wealth of near a billion dollars combined. That's the kind of wealth that you couldn't spend in a few lifetimes and people of that level of wealth often care less about making more.

Sure if you've "only" got 10-20-50 million I'm sure they're all desperate to make more.

I heard a guy that rents out luxury yachts and he said he doesn't like to let to millionaires as they can often be such penny pinchers because they could still lose it all. Billionaires on the other hand are are alot less hassle.

Rishi is probably more interested in power and celeb thesedays.

Just look at Trump who is literally fleecing his supporters for millions every week

I did not attend any parties.
Sue Gray will decide if I went to any parties.
I did not know they were parties.
The police will decide if there were parties.
Parties are old news and we have more pressing issues.
I have been fined for attending parties, and so has my wife !
I may appeal against the party findings.

Well this post has aged well.

He oversees the most corrupt government I can think of, and that's saying something after Johnson's time in power.
