Exactly. It's the contacts rather than the education. Matthew Syed in The Times today said that his class at Oxford was full of people who's dad's had schmoozed Oxford Don's to get their kids in, while he, as a Comp kid had to get the results.Maybe they’re going to make use of their mansion after all,it’s probably to do with the backlash over their subsidised heating and leckie bills in no 11 while the rest of the country struggles…nothing like the poor man funding a billionaires heating bill
I think it’s peoples perception of an English public school education more than what it actually achieves academically…When you look at the knobs it’s produced lol.
The thing with having a lot of money but not the IQ to match is you can afford to pay people to manage your business interests although that can come at a price if they’re not doing the job well enough.
I see a lot questioning why it's only Asians being targeted when there's many white Nom Doms .

Someone REALLY has it in for Rishi. Im not condoning any of this, but you have to wonder why its all coming out now? It’s never been a secret that his wife is richer than the Queen and that her family are one of the richest in India. If I was a member of this government I’d be bricking it right now, especially if I had a few skeletons in the closet.
I don’t believe there’s one single source for this story, it’s more like a combination of sources, open data and public records all being used. Thing is, our media are like a flock of sheep. Where one goes they all follow until saturation point then they all move on to something else.

There are, and one of them is Lord Rothermere the owner of the Daily Mail. There is a vow of silence between newspaper owners not to talk about what the other has done/tax arrangements/children in trouble etc.
The only one who ever broke it was Richard Desmond, who fell out with Rothermere over a business deal when owned the Express. He printed out the fact that Rothermere's father was a bully and had driven Rothermere mother into alcoholism, and that had left her to live with a another woman in Paris, splashed out about Rothermeres own behaviour and started starting about Rothermere tax arrangements about how his accountancy didn;t fit in with the Daily Mail campaign for tax transparency.
Rothermere and Desmond soon came to an 'arrangement' and nothing else was announced....

Probably payback for what looked like leaked garden party pics taken from his office area. And he disappeared on a tour somewhere when Boris wanted his support in the Commons. Then there was comment where he didn't support Boris' mentioning Jimmy Saville with Keir Starmer.
All that together probably pissed Boris off but it would have looked too obvious if they started leaking stuff about Rishi straight away so they waited a while. Imo
oh yeah obviously - i am far from in agreement with the voting public this past decade but this seemed to be the general consensus after party gate / patterson i think
Yes that makes me uncomfortable too. What about Jacob Rees Mogg and his moving businesses to Ireland after Brexit? I bet there are loads of Tories who have suspicious tax affairs but Sunak and Javid are the ones targeted. Funny how they were the most diverse cabinet in history yet now the brown members are the ones thrown under the bus by leaks from their own party.
The Conservative party has many members that were previously members of UKIP. Make of that what you will......

I think the problem with Somerset Capital Management was that it invited investment into their Ireland office when their new business prospectus listed Brexit as one of the risks, as it could cause "considerable uncertainty". He was still a director when that was written, but he has since resigned since being appointed as minister.
