En suites don't have to have doors. Personally I would hate this set up - especially as there doesn't appear to be a lock on the door to the hallway. It doesn't even seem to make practical sense from a plumbing perspective (i.e. I've seen bathrooms which seem to be illogical until you realise they're directly above/below the other plumbing in the house). I'd have had the stairs to the loft conversion put the other way and extended the shower room to make a bigger bathroom and then just had a toilet and shower en suite in the loft conversion.
I’d honestly prefer not to have an en-suite than have a carpeted hallway en-suite! Hell, I’d prefer to have an outside lav like the old days than have an open plan one 😆 I remember a friend had an en-suite in her room that didn’t have a door, just an arch thing and she hated it, said it turned her right off her hubby coz she could smell his urine when he used it first thing in the morning 🤢 at least a door contains certain odours!

I want to live in that house with adjoining castle, it's so cool! Not sure about Suffolk though, doesn't Ed Sheeran own half of it?
