So many beautiful words coming from people. And then this man whose career I too was aware of but I didn't know what a pleasant man and beautiful soul he seems to have been.

It seems everyone now has cancer. They have released the cause of death for Catherine O'Hara.

I remember him as a fixture on Jim Davidson's Big Break, which for some reason I used to watch as a kid despite having no genuine interest in snooker other than my grandad liking/playing for fun at pubs.

Same here. Everytime it was on, my grandad would watch snooker and it bored the tits off of me. Yet as soon as the theme came on for BB, I was sat in cross legged in front of the TV watching it. John was so deadpan and in my opinion a lot more funny than Jim...in fact most of the players who you assumed were boring were actually funny...well apart from Stephen Hendry who was and continues to be a bell end.

Oh how sad. I remember watching him in Dawson's Creek all those years ago. His poor wife and their children. He did seem terribly ill at one point about 6 months ago and I feared the worst then, but then he did seem to be improving
