As a proud Aberdonian and Aberdeen and Scotland fan, I’m gutted about Dennis passing. He was a true football legend who never forgot his roots and did so much for our city on and off the pitch.
I’ve got a house full of Man Utd supporters . That’s what you like to see someone that’s always remained grounded and humble no matter how well known they became x legend! As a proud Aberdonian and Aberdeen and Scotland fan, I’m gutted about Dennis passing. Tbh it often is pneumonia for those with underlying illnesses.Just read that it was actually double pneumonia that got her in the end.
Yeah, the same happened with my granddad. His immune system was nonexistent in the end, and everything he could catch, he did.Tbh it often is pneumonia for those with underlying illnesses.
"Our beautiful @thelindanolan left us yesterday, so much to say not sure where or if I can start, countless memories, countless laughs, and constant support when you really needed it, I am heartbroken as we all are, just so sad," she wrote.
"I would just like to say, to all the people out there who felt inspired by Linda, the big C didn’t actually get her. She contracted double pneumonia over Christmas and New Year and because of her immune system it was one battle too much.
"So please keep hopeful and strong if you are suffering, she lasted nearly 20 yrs with one cancer or another, and so can you,"
It's Mark's birthday today as well. There is never a good time to pass but on her husband's birthday is extra sad.RIP Claire Van Kampen, Lady Rylance, theatre director and composer (and wife of Mark Rylance).
The first female musical director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre.
Died today from cancer aged 71.
For the first time ever I contemplated arranging a direct funeral as costs have doubled or tripled for standard funerals. Makes sense if like me you don't have friends or family. A cremation with no service I think it is and a fraction of the price. With all this death in the news, it does make you wonder about your own mortality. Wonder how long you have yourself, to be grateful for everyday of health, and take nothing for granted, and especially to stress and worry less. Anyone ever feel the same? Does it make you reflect sometimes?
The Ballad of Lucy Jordan is one of my all time favourite songs.Marianne Faithful has died
What an amazing life she had. The highest highs to the lowest lows. Her later performances were just stunning. Raw, emotional and a reflection of everything she'd been through. Just incredible. RIP Marianne. The Ballad of Lucy Jordan is one of my all time favourite songs.
Many years ago I saw a One Woman Play based on her life - it was superb. Funny and moving.
