A child that’s long sighted with a squint needs to wear them everyday , poor kid will be really struggling and will have terrible headache later especially with squinting in the sun !!

being long sighted means you can see things that are far in the distance but not near by, short sighted means being able to see things close up but not far away. Both can be helped by using glasses.
If Alfie is long sighted he needs to be wearing his glasses probably all day so that he’s able to see things directly around him - particularly out of the house when trying to negotiate outside space like pavements/roads/shops etc (imagine walking down the street not being able to clearly see people/obstacles directly around you) the glasses will help the eye focus the light to avoid developing a squint.
