Just reminds me of Scarlett Jenkinson when she was convicted her mugshot looked so different to the innocent photos on her Facebook. She actually looked physically ill and gaunt. I don’t understand this at all. Apart from it being cruel and neglectful. Why was he filming him? A 14 minute video is a huge length of time.

He also contradicts himself - wants to see how Preston was in his own company but then says Preston could see him.

The key in the door thing - we do this at home so that I don’t find mega unusual on its own. Under the circumstances, does seem like he didn’t want JMF to be able to just walk in the house without him knowing. Does this then point to JMF not knowing about the abuse? (Thinking out loud here).

Your second point was something I picked up on. I am wondering if his defence is going to be along these lines you know…which I think if this was the defence, I might be likely they’d both have to take the stand. I will be interested to see if their relationship is spoken about; their sex life could be relevant but these could also be things to come out after the trial.
I know in my previous job (police investigator of DA) when there were sexual elements of a crime, we would have to question their “usual” sex life/preferences. I never dealt with child sex offences though so not sure if those types of questions wouldn’t be asked.

I thought about JMF was he actually aware of what was going on given the fact they headed straight to hospital on his arrival and keys in door but then they must have some sort of evidence of him with the sexual assault charge, the sperm on cot i suppose could be explained depending on how close it was to there own bed or if he had it on his hands then put his hands on the cot etc... all the messages saying things like I have strangled your child and hes sick of him working away etc makes me think he wasn't aware of the full extent and maybe resentment kicked in but who knows this is why I think alot more is going to come out about him for him to be remanded they must have very strong evidence

Two things stood out for me from that video.

He said that Preston couldn’t stand or lift himself up because of his arm. Is that the arm you broke you histrionic piece of shit?

When they asked who John was he referred to him as baby boys daddy. Baby boy? The fact that he referred to him as that rather than by his name or as his son says a lot I think.

Yes! I thought that too. Classic ‘distancing language’. I hope his mother will give evidence.

Comment saying he sits in the bath seat all the time whilst he gets in the shower and he plays peekaboo he loves it.....so not the first time hes apparently left him in bathtub alone, next comment is he doesnt like baths thats why grandma washed his hair this morning he doesnt like baths?!?! A forensic swab could detect it. In the same way. However I seem to recall that in English law if a penis is used then it is referred to as rape but an object is used sexual assault by penetration.

Yeah you’re right, I just googled it. JV has 2 charges of assault by penetration of a child under 13.

I know we still don’t know the full extent of JMF’s involvement but the impression I get (and I could be completely wrong) is that JV was the one who started the abuse and JMF somehow became involved too. I hadn’t heard about this awful case before this trial.
Does anyone know how long it took for these POS to be charged.
This poor baby died in July 2023, nearly three years ago.
Was the drowning in the bath story initially believed, or were arrests made for neglect straight away?
Did the men get a chance to go home and remove evidence, delete searches etc?
Have they been held in custody all this time?
I guess I just want to know if they nearly managed to get away with it
And I wonder if they are still in a relationship or if they are going to turn on each other in court.

Surely the mum knew something ? Her comment saying it wouldnt have happened if he was with her? If he was being SA'd then surely when mum was changing nappy she would be seeing sore area ... it doesnt add up! And why did John have no shoes and socks on aswell surely him coming straight home and leaving for hospital straight away he wouldnt have bothered taking his shoes and socks off this case is disturbing that poor baby !
