Well so much for my maternal instincts and all of the old wives tales that said otherwise (bad morning sickness, sweet cravings, Chinese gender predictor etc.)... It's a boy! I had convinced myself it was a girl and had to ask the sonographer again what made her think it was a boy, she was like 'his willy'. 😂

Now I'm freaking out over names, I had the girl name picked out, boy names so hard!!
No way, congratulations!!!! And yes boys’ names are so very hard 😫 So many nice ones but not ones I want for my own kid, IYKWIM? Like I think Benjamin is a lovely name, but I don’t wanna call a kid that.

Anyone got any tips on getting through the first trimester without too much anxiety?
I think it’s quite impossible, but just take it one week at a time. I’ve suffered with bad anxiety since I was 16 so while I’m pregnant it’s horrendous.

I know, I honestly have no idea! And my partner keeps suggesting ridiculous names - Xerxes anyone?! 😂 The sonographer said she's very happy with the baby and all her comments when she was checking everything were "very nice", "perfect", so that's given me a lot of reassurance.

My mum has messaged me a couple times asking when my appointment was, but I still feel so sour about her reaction last week and how "disappointed" she was and "doesn't want to be a grandma" that I've been ignoring her, I do feel a bit bad though.

Men sometimes have the weirdest suggestions for names. My partner has been dead set on Rufus.
Sorry if anyone has a child called that... But I just can't picture anything other than a dog 😂

Rufus just makes me think of the guy from Bill and Ted. 😂

I agree! I have about 20 girls names that I love and only one boys name, and my partner doesn’t like it.. but it’s fine I have 8 months of graft just in case I have a boy 😈

maybe you can do what I managed with our only son (so far, I’m convinced this one is a boy). I told my husband the name I liked. He said no. Then a month later he comes to me saying "what about this name?"....he truly believes to this day he thought it up himself. Plant a small seed and let him claim it as his own 😂

I like your style but I’ve banged on about this name for years so he will know! I used to love Archie until Megan and Harry robbed me for it 🤬

I suggested a name for my first boy and partner hated it. 4 years later I didn’t even suggest it again as knew he didn’t like it, then he suggested it. To be honest the younger one deff suits the name more so worked out quite well.

Had a membrane sweep today as now 4 days past due date

Wasn’t bad at all, read horror stories accidentally online while googling procedure (general advice- don’t google 🤣) I actually drove myself there and back to appointment as had no one else to take me (1 hour round trip) called at Costa drive thru on way back and got a major twinge, immediately panicked thinking I’m alone and a 20 minute drive from home 🤣 false alarm

Had some twinges this afternoon but nothing of significance

Haha I was so worried it would hurt but the woman was like.. Okay, done.
And I was like huh? Are you sure?! 😂

Again though, don't worry even if you are alone, you will 99% sure have plenty of time 😂

I could definitely feel her ‘poking around’ so to speak 🤣 but was only about a minute long so nothing unbearable unlike labour I’m imagining ha

I just pounced straight after I gave birth. I was still on the operating table (csection) and I’d had a name I wanted all along but OH kept saying no.

The midwife asked if we had a name and I said he looks like a (name) and OH said (name) it is then 🤣

I’m also team boy! Planning on calling him Alexander. Thankfully a name we agreed on fairly painlessly, my husband hated loads of my suggestions for girls names so it’s just as well he’s a boy!

Pram wise I have gone for an Uppababy Vista V2. Bit on the pricey side but gets excellent reviews and my two friends love theirs. It’s very easy to collapse down, has a huge basket and can be converted into a double if any future babies come along while the first is still in the pram. Also has lots of nice little features included like mesh vents and rain cover. Got a Cybex Cloud Z car seat as it is compatible with the pram, rotates and reclines so no time limit for using it when out with the pram. Again, a pricey option but I got my cot for £70 off Facebook and a second hand bedside crib so I saved £330 that way! 😁😂

We don't know what we are having this Time round but we are pretty set on Stanley for a boy. For a girl, no idea. I like Nancy, Violet, Elsie, Lyra but just can't choose. I think if baby is a girl we will decide on looking at her 💛

I have kept mummas and pappas ocarro pushchair from my first son 🥰 I loved it so much and cannot wait to get it back out!

I don’t know if it’ll make a difference to you but apparently Lyra has gotten really popular since Ed Sheeran named his daughter. They’re suggesting it’ll go the same way popularity wise as ‘Harper’ did when VB named her daughter
