It usually does, and then you get to the final hurdle and time seems to stop. I went to 42 weeks with my first and vividly recall how miserable I felt in those last couple of weeks. It dragged. I was so heavy and sore (he was almost 11lbs at birth). This is my first and I’m nearly 29 weeks and I think it’s flew in personally up to now anyway. Doesn’t feel like that long ago that I found out.
It did drag a wee bit up to the 12 week scan but from there I think mine has flew in
January is the worst for dragging, I agree completely. Hopefully your time passes more quickly than you think!Oh man I'm nearly 14 weeks but I feel like this wait is going to be forever until the 20 week scan. It doesn't help that January and February are always the most depressing draggiest months as well!
OMG 11lbsIt usually does, and then you get to the final hurdle and time seems to stop. I went to 42 weeks with my first and vividly recall how miserable I felt in those last couple of weeks. It dragged. I was so heavy and sore (he was almost 11lbs at birth).![]()
Yeah I think that's other thing, in the early second trimester you don't yet have a bump (FTM) and can't feel any movements yet plus the symptoms of the first trimester are fading away so now I just feel a bit largeIt gets more interesting once you start growing a real bump and having kicks etc. I’m really enjoying those things now
I was fully expecting with my first to be like everyone else, 7lb baby roughly. Even the scans showed just under 7lb at my growth scansIt usually does, and then you get to the final hurdle and time seems to stop. I’m only 29 weeks but I really want to go naturally as well I really don’t want a induction. I didn’t know you could refuse. How long can you refuse for?I’ve proper reached the fed up stage now. I’m 39+3 today. 1st baby came on due date, 2nd came at 39+5.
I’m booked in for an induction on Thursday (still undecided if I’m going to refuse it) but would really just like to go into labour naturally before then. With my others I didn’t have an induction looming so wasn’t as desperate to go into labour.
I’m not too sureI’m only 29 weeks but I really want to go naturally as well I really don’t want a induction. I didn’t know you could refuse. How long can you refuse for?
My foo foo hurts just reading all these posts about big babies.Thinking about giving birth to a big baby is terrifying to mefair play to anyone that’s done it. I’m hoping mine is no bigger than 7lb honestly

You can refuse as long as you like, it’s your body. I think risk of stillbirth goes up past 42 weeks but worth discussing the ins and outs with your midwife if it did come to potentially being inducedI’m only 29 weeks but I really want to go naturally as well I really don’t want a induction. What was an elective caesarean like? I had an emergency with my first and it was terrifying, the doctors argued in front of me about what to do and I was left to go to grade 1 emergency, ended up with a blood transfusion and defs some post traumatic stress. Am requesting an elective section at my midwife app this week, i semi wish a stork could just drop it to my doorOh I didn’t give birth vaginally. I got to 8cm dilated then was whisked off for an emergency cesarean due to my baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels dropping. My next baby was 8lb 11oz and delivered by elective cesarean so I’ve never had a vaginal delivery. Given the weight of them, I’m kind of glad tbh.![]()
Mine was very chilled out. Honestly, it was a dream in comparison to my emergency cesarean. I had to be put to sleep during the first and there were complications and a longer stay in hospital afterwards, but the elective was great. I felt so in control, my OH was able to be there, the staff took good care and reassured me, chatted away to me while it was all happening. I was only in hospital 24 hours and was able to go home the next day. If I have a third (which I would like someday) then I’d opt for an elective again. What was an elective caesarean like? You can refuse all medical intervention, for as long as you like. As mentioned above there are risks to carrying on past 42 weeks however.I’m only 29 weeks but I really want to go naturally as well I really don’t want a induction. I didn’t know you could refuse. How long can you refuse for?
