I can relate. First pregnancy no sickness and felt fine whereas this one a lot of feeling rough, nausea and a bit of sick. I’ve got my nhs scan tomorrow so I’m hoping there’s just one in here as I think it scares me more thinking about twins with a 13mo……

Best of luck! Please update me tomorrow

Yes they can be very different !
Pregnant with a boy last time and again this time so gender didn’t even matter for me

With my first I was actually sick multiple times for weeks, had so much heartburn, needed to nap a lot.. and now I’m almost 24 weeks with my second and I’ve only actually physically been sick once or twice. I think in weeks 7-9 I did feel like I had constant nausea that if I ate safe foods little and often it seemed to curb it but that stage passed quickly for me.

I have a 21 month old too so I’m not sure if I’m actually more tired this time hard to tell if it’s just tiredness from chasing him

Wondering some days why anyone actually wants to get pregnant while already having a toddler tbh

Yep I had the exact same with #2! I remember being nauseous for about a day with my first but the second one was awful and I really struggled. Only one baby (thankfully) but both girls so no idea why it was so different!

I started feeling better about 10-11 weeks I think, hope you do soon as well.

Same. I'm 8w approx and been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. It's just awful... I had hg last pregnancy but not to this extent.

Baby has waited until 37 weeks to start craving fruit and tomatoes and salads. Where was this healthy eating months ago? Too late to be a healthy queen now babes

I had a craving for a cheese and cucumber sandwich on the last night with two bags of hulahoops. This is as healthy as I've gotten so far

Hi everyone. I’m so pissed off and stressed and not sure what to do. Essay/ran

I’m 32+2 today in a supposed high risk pregnancy (40 plus, IVF). First time I’ve seen a consultant today but spoke to one when 16 weeks when he said they’d book my ELCS for 23rd Dec when I’m 38 weeks + 2. This was due to the bank hols and the fact that when I had my first son (natural pregnancy) ELCS at 39 weeks his placenta was discovered to be failing.

Now went to sign consent forms and there’s been a bollocks up and 23rd Dec is full, I wasn’t booked in. The earliest they can do is 30th Dec at 39+3 but I’m terrified this is too risky. I’m older now and IVF and placentas fail more than non-IVF ones and considering my history last time - it’s a very real risk of still birth to me. There’s nothing they can do, they won’t even consider 37 weeks + 5.

I can try transfer hospitals but the referral can take weeks and still no guarantee there is space for me on 23rd

What do I do??

Lodge a complaint with PALs. State the reason for the 23rd and also when you were told about the appointment being the 23rd - hopefully it’s noted in your medical notes. Bug the hell out of them. I hate to say it, but being persistent (and some times down right stubborn) can be the only way to get things moving.

yes absolutely this! Take it further and good luck x

Had my second sweep and I’ve had awful cramping since coming home makes me worry how the hell I’m gonna birth this baby hahaha

Thanks both. PALS can’t make them change the list, we can only “hope” someone gives birth early and I get their slot but this is risking my baby’s life. I suppose reporting it to PALS only helps me if the worst happens as a log for when I sue them for not following process.

I’m just so sad and anxious now. Can’t relax now at all

I have to admit we were also v.happy to find out we were only having one. It's our first, but I don't think we could have coped with twins.

It’s such a tough thing to get round our heads isn’t it! You desperately want children but at the same time don’t want two at once

Maybe I'm really strange and slightly delusional, but I've always said I'd love twins!
I always said the same until I had my first! I have so much respect for twin mammas, I can’t even imagine how hard it must be, especially in the first few years. Although I would have loved to only have one pregnancy after having HG with both of mine.

I also think you should get a higher rate of maternity pay for twins too!

Had the worst night last night waking up every hour, either to pee, raging heartburn, can’t fall asleep, overheating…did anyone else have this in the first trimester? It’s like I can’t get comfortable and fall asleep anymore!

Not the first, but from week 20ish that was me. I was up 5 times last night, then up at 6am being sick. Then I felt hungry so made some toast and ended up doing some work until 20 mins ago when I felt sick again. I did get anti sickness meds but some days they don't work as well as I wish they would.
