Congratulations!Baby shark is here and it’s a boy 🩵
My cravings and obsessions seem to change weeklyCongratulations!
Can I just go ahead and talk about how great potatoes are right now? I can't get enough. Also ham sandwiches with mayo. And cabbage. I think the embryo is Irish. All I've been able to think about all day at work is my ham sandwich for lunch and my jacket potato for dinner.
I had that last week. Specifically McCoys. But then I overdid it and now I can't eat themMy cravings and obsessions seem to change weeklyat the moment it’s salt and vinegar crisps which I unfortunately consumed them all over the weekend
I've not had proper cravings but dear lord, I have eaten enough Mexican food to last a lifetime since being at my in-laws.I’ve never really had a craving the whole pregnancy. At 27 weeks I don’t know if I’ll develop one 🥲 I was looking forward to itI’ve just been plagued with nausea and reflux the whole time which has limited my ability to eat in general
I use the s12 - I bought a load off of vinted. I get on well with them, they’re not the most discreet though. But generally comfy to wear and easy to use etcHas anyone tried the Momcozy lactation massager or their S12 breast pump? My workplace has point rewards and I’ve got enough points for either the massager or the breast pump - they’ve got good reviews but wanted to know if anyone on here has experience with them.
Most vaccinations are given (or can be given) as long as you don’t have a temperature.I have my covid vaccination booked for Saturday and both me and my partner were unwell all last week, he thinks it could’ve been covid but we’re not sure as didn’t test. I honestly didn’t feel as bad as he did, and I didn’t have many of the the possible symptoms so I’m not really sure if I even had it, and other than still sneezing (that I’ve done this whole pregnancy so far anyway) I feel fine now.
Does anyone know if I should be rebooking it? Seems silly as I’m fine now but my mum seems to think they won’t do it if you’ve been unwell recently ?
I suppose I should call and ask?
I do also love how on it my GP surgery has been with sending me text messages to book whooping cough, covid, rsv.. but for some reason they’ve all been wayyy ahead of schedule. Whooping cough I was barely pregnant when they wanted me to book it and Rsv isn’t done until 28 weeks but I have a text message link to book it that expires in 4 days time but I’m not even quite 20 weeks yet and there’s no appointments listed for 8 weeks time, so that’s unhelpful
I imagine I’ll have to call and ask them how I’m meant to book it?
Bless you, I had this and had to go into triage. I could hardly walk. They gave me strong painkillers so don’t put up with it if you’re in too much pain!My back has started spasming on the lower left side and omg it’s the worst pain everphoned triage to make sure everything sounded normal and they were just like ‘let the paracetamol kick in and ride it out basically’. I almost cried haha at least everything sounds okay with baby but my god I take back everything I said about the third trimester going well I refuse to deal with back pain for 8 more weeks
Omg same. Sandwiches and potatoes. I’m 29 weeks and if it’s between bread the baby goes nutsCongratulations!

It could just be a migraine (mine have gotten worse since pregnancy) but headaches that aren’t going away can be a sign of pre eclampsia so might be worthwhile calling triage/midwives and maybe getting checked over???I’m 35 weeks tomorrow and since last night I’ve had a banging headache which kept me up and hasn’t gone away with 3 doses of paracetamol or the little sleep I managed to get. It’s now travelled down my neck. I also feel sick and keep needing the loo. Anyone know what it could be?
I would call the triage line ASAP. Could be pre-eclampsia which you need to get seen to pretty quick!I’m 35 weeks tomorrow and since last night I’ve had a banging headache which kept me up and hasn’t gone away with 3 doses of paracetamol or the little sleep I managed to get. Agreed, call the midwife @yankydoo fingers crossed it’s nothing but worth checkingI would call the triage line ASAP. Could be pre-eclampsia which you need to get seen to pretty quick!
I set my WhatsApp settings so that people couldn’t see if I was online/read their message and casually announced a blanket rule that I was taking a break away from my phone in the last few weeks whilst I rested and prepared for labour…. This actually only applied to my MIL but she thought it was for everyone so made the blow a little softerAgreed, call the midwife @yankydoo fingers crossed it’s nothing but worth checking

I’m getting so annoyed with my MIL as my due date approaches. I’d love to hear how others actually dealt with this when going into labour. She has made multiple comments about feeling entitled to see her grandchild asap and come round asap, blah blah. We’ve said we’ll see how we feel (which is even more pertinent now as 3 of my NCT course friends have now had their babies and have stayed in hospital for 5-7 days, so you never know what to expect!)
Now MIL is messaging to make sure we keep her updated (I.e via WhatsApp etc). I’ve said we’ll share our news when we are ready! I don’t know what more she wants - a running update of my cervix dilation and which meds I’m on?!
I fully understand it’s an exciting time for everyone and im probably just sensitive about it but I wish everyone would just go away. Obviously if something goes wrong or me or baby are unwell we’ll share news asap. I just am getting so annoyed about the feeling of everyone looming over me when I just want to focus on me and my baby and my husband and have it as a special, private time

I wish I could remind them that in the 80s and 90s they had to wait for a phone call, people are too used to 500 WhatsApp’s and day and photos asap!
Thanks - yeah I’m in the same boat, she definitely thinks she’s above and beyond almost my own parents as to when she “deserves” to see/hear. She’s also made weird comments that “friends keep asking for updates”.. it’s like I’m sure they do, but don’t hide behind them when really it’s just you gagging for info.I set my WhatsApp settings so that people couldn’t see if I was online/read their message and casually announced a blanket rule that I was taking a break away from my phone in the last few weeks whilst I rested and prepared for labour…. I also dropped into convo that people messaging only to see if I was in labour/if the baby was here were being ignored. Didn’t stop her sending the message but I ignored it anyway. I needed her to understand that my rules and boundaries applied to her as sometimes those close family members/friends hear what you’re saying but don’t think it applies to them!
