I agree that it's good to be realistic. It's horrible that it stops you being so happy about it but I feel it just isn't talked about enough how common it actually is.
1 in 4 pregnancies is a lot.
I'm 20 weeks now and I still think something will go wrong. I have one little girl after my 2 miscarriages. Yet they still over power the one that went right!. Congratulations and good luck to you!

Ahhh thanks for thinking of me, I’m good thanks. I can’t lie and say I’m not absolutely terrified! My feelings seem to change on the hour and I find myself staring into thin air such a lot. I’m so happy and excited but then it’s also come with so many other emotions, I’m just totally overwhelmed and I feel like my mind isn’t my own. Iv been having a lot of nausea and going off food, and sleepless nights with worry- but I’m also very realistic with what happened to the lovely @SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur Iv been thinking about her a lot and almost mentally preparing for it to happen to myself. I don’t take it for granted and I know that there’s nothing I can do if it does. I feel abit in a limbo. But I’m very grateful that Iv managed to just get pregnant, I honestly didn't think it would ever happen to me. Xx
Sounds like a proper storm of emotions over with you! But overall sounds really positive which is great. Although not so fab about the nausea, it’s the absolute worst - mine has been going strong for 12 weeks so far, 24/7 😫 but hopefully yours subsides soon and you stay well.

Just found this thread, best of luck.

As far as I'm aware a line is a line, no matter how faint.

Someone here said they did a bunch of tests out of excitement, I did the same! I just loved watching the second line come up, then I'd jump up and down like I've just found out for the first time. The excitement is unreal. I'm happy for you internet stranger 🤗

P.S. sometimes there's bleeding in the early weeks. I had bleeding and cramps at 6-7 weeks (implantation bleeding). Just something I wish someone had told me, because I cried like crazy and skipped work ❤

I took one of these but it's saying not pregnant, don't know what to think now - are those lil cheapy ones reliable or these more x
Digital pregnancy tests usually require more of the pregnancy hormone hCG so if you’re still early it may not pick up anything yet. I would really recommend a FRER (First Response Early Result) which have always given me a result at least 4 days early as they are much more sensitive to hCG.

All these pregnancies are making me really miss it!

Even though we planned both of ours and I was so happy to he pregnant, I cried after each test through fear, guilt and relief. Its totally normal. I asked my midwife on my booking in for my second whether it was normal for me to feel like i was neglecting my eldest by giving them a sibling, as i would have to split my time. She gave me loads of reassurance and was great, she Will probably never know how much she helped me in that moment.

Congratulations x

Hope no one minds me joining in. I am 7 weeks today (first pregnancy) and I have an early scan Friday to check heartbeat etc and I told a couple of close friends when I found out and I got a negative response with “oooh you shouldn’t have told people!”, why not? Women should be able to celebrate pregnancy from as soon as they find out, and if the worst happens it should also be encouraged to talk about. It’s nothing to be ashamed off and there’s still a massive stigma about not telling people and that annoys me. Why suffer in silence? It should be talked about openly and support groups encouraged.

@SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur I hope you are okay, let us all know xxx
I tell the people who I would want to know if the worst happens. So family, close friends. It’s not like by keeping it a secret you in anyway affect the outcome, and having support during early pregnancy can be so important, even if the pregnancy continues.

I hope you are keeping well x

How far along are you?
5 weeks I think, me and skinnyTurkeydinosaur had our positive tests in the same week. Which is why I’m so upset for her. In fact, I can’t stop thinking about her. It’s my first pregnancy but I’m very much in the mindset now of take each day as it comes and nothing is guaranteed.

still bleeding and still in a lot of pain feel so dizzy just walking round the house. It's rubbish like but I'll be okay thank you, and everyone else on here you all have been so lovely x
I agree with the others that if you are in a lot of pain (more than bad period cramps) and are dizzy you need to get checked out ASAP lovely. Not just to check on the viability of your pregnancy, but to check that you are ok as well. X

Early pregnancy tiredness was like jet lag to me. Like another level, hit by a train, exhaustion. It soon passed mind you. There are so many symptoms you never hear of. Cramps, nose bleeds, headaches, sore gums, needing a wee all the time even before you get a bump, itchy hair... The smell of my own hair made me vom no matter how many different shampoos I tried 😂 it’s a crazy journey - so many things disappear as easy as they came though. There’s always reassurance on google, forums and pregnancy apps, FB groups etc. Congratulations to you xx

I'm so so sorry @SkinnyTurkeyDinosaur I hope that you are feeling looked after now. How awful that you were left on your own so upset and cold. Surely the security guard could have done more to help you, even arranged you a taxi or something. It doesn't sit right with me to leave you so cold and upset all by yourself.

Take it easy and rest up, there is no rule book on how to deal with this situation. Take care hun and we are all here x
Yeah I know it wasn't even busy i just wanted to sit inside so it wasnt freezing, more comfortable and could charge my phone. My friend was like you should've just called me to come and get you but she was working late last night and I didn't want to wake her up but yeah maybe I should've just phoned her oh well least I got through it and thank you so much xx

Thank you so much everyone on here for being so lovely and I don't think I would've even went hospital if it wasn't for people on here being like you should go. I got to the hospital at 10.30 last night and didn't get out until 5am, after a lot of tests, had a drip, they checked me down there. The doctor said it is a early miscarriage and I just need to go home and rest, take tablets for the pain and it shouldnt be as bad in a few days and the stress not eating and everything will be affecting me a lot as well. So I then had to go speak to a psychologist cos they were worried about me because I was just so stressed, tired, confused, crying I kept having to ask them to repeat everything they just said. Then he said I could leave and it was 5am I had no one with me and no way of getting home cos I didn't want to phone and ask anyone because I'd wake them up, first bus wasn't until 7 and I explained to the security guy can I just sit inside here I've been seen but it's so cold and I'm in so much pain because the seats outside is so uncomfortable and I need to charge my phone and he was like no we can't have you inside here if youve been seen because of coronavirus so I was just standing outside for two hours crying in pain then got the bus at seven, got home at eight and went to sleep for a bit so just thought I'd let you all know that I'm okay at least I went to the hospital so I know now although it was really hard and I still feel so awful and in pain the now but I will be fine soon hopefully Xx
I'm so sorry to hear this. You must feel devastated right now but I really hope that you find the strength to deal with your loss. This year has added emotional strain to life in general so I hope that you have people you can reach out to about this, to help you process it as it must feel extremely overwhelming for you. Sending you so much love.
