I have had 2 miscarriages and the first one at 6 weeks took 3 weeks to turn negative. It didn't even get fainter.
And then the second at 10 weeks took around 4 weeks.
So it can really depend.
Just taking a test isn't accurate though
I’m sorry to hear that, I don’t think miscarriage is talked about enough, seeing what skinnyTurkeydinosaur is going through is making me be very realistic about my pregnancy, I’m trying not to get attached. But alot of people seem to talk like once you are pregnant that it’s a given it will be ok. It’s really opened my eyes to be honest. I’m heartbroken for our friend here and I’m just taking things step at a time. I do think it’s should be talked about more.
Sending everyone love who’s had a mc, and who knows it may happen to me. We never know what’s intended do we? Much love and hugs xx

Awh hehe bless you, yeah I got one and two clearer lines. It won't let me upload a picture on here now it's saying due to low memory? Is it something up with tattle anyone know or is it just my phone? Awh I feel so sick ( I don't know if it's too early for that and it's just stress) but still have cramp pains too and so tired it's like half 7 and I want to go bed lol xx

Ok so this happened to me.

we were trying to get pregnant, I knew when my period was due, it was late so I took a test. It was positive. I did a clear blue digital - it was also positive showing 1-2 weeks which put me at around 4-5 weeks pregnant going by my last period. All fine. 4 days later I started bleeding - light at first then it turned heavier like a normal period. I took another 3 pregnancy tests over the coming days and all still said pregnant, I was still bleeding. I phoned the midwife (who I hadn’t even seen yet for the inital booking in appointment) and she said that it was likely to be a chemical pregnancy and that the only thing to do was wait and see if the bleeding stopped and then check another pregnancy test after a few days. She said that the hospital wouldn’t offer a scan or anything at that early stage because it’s extremely common and unlikely to be anything seriously wrong - lots of women experience chemical pregnancies and never even know, they just assume it’s a period. A few days later the bleeding had started to tail off, I did another test and it was negative. 3 months later I fell pregnant again and that pregnancy resulted in our eldest son 🥰

All you can do is give your body time and then do another test in a few days/a week. Take it from there.

all the best xx

I also agree how realistic it is! I was pregnant in april (my first pregnancy) and I was so excited I told literally everyone as I took for granted that oh i would never miscarry that only happens to people who struggle to get pregnant but at 7 weeks i started to bleed very lightly at first and by 7 weeks 5 days I was getting considerably more heavier so I booked myself in to a private scan at exactly 8 weeks. I went in for my scan and I was told everything is ok its probably implantation bleeding don't worry. The very next day i was in the shop and i felt wet and i looked down and i was obviously miscarrying. I rang my midwife who told me to go to the hospital which I did and they couldnt do anything for me told me to go home and let nature take its course i might be lucky and the pregnancy doesnt get expelled. that was on a thursday and on saturday i took a turn and was admitted to hospital with sepsis from the miscarraige. always trust your gut when you feel something isint right.

@Upintheair83 it’s good to be realistic about what can happen, but don’t let it totally ruin your experience right now. Enjoy each day that you are pregnant. I lost my very first pregnancy, and it’s awful, and you worry every pregnancy afterwards, but I also try and just take each day as it comes and be thankful that, as far as I know, today I have a baby in my tummy growing strongly. X

Unfortunately right now it is too early for you to really be sure either way. I've had 5 pregnancies, 3 ended in miscarriage, 1 resulted in a healthy, lively now-2-year-old and I am currently 4 weeks from giving birth with number 5. I bled in all 5 pregnancies, all of them in the early stages, and all were similar levels. With my 2 full term pregnancies it was implantation bleeding, with the other three (all before 12 weeks) unfortunately it was a miscarriage. The main difference between the two (and this may be tmi) was the presence of clots for the miscarriages, but not all women have this.

It is the hardest thing in the world to do right now, but, unless you get significantly heavier and need to head to the hospital, about all you can do is sit and wait. Rest is absolutely the best thing. Don't take more tests - the pregnancy hormones in your system will still be there for a few days even after a miscarriage.

If it is the worse case scenario, then just remember that there was absolutely nothing you could have done to avoid it, you could not have prevented it, and some pregnancies are sadly just not viable. You will be able to try again soon if you want though. Speak to friends and family, and there are other support groups out there if you need. Miscarriage is still such a (wrongly) taboo subject for some reason, but the majority of women I know who have been through pregnancies and have had a healthy birth have sadly experienced it. I'll be thinking of you. x

Isn't it terrible you can't allow yourself to get excited. It's my 2nd pregnancy (first was ectopic) I'm 10.5wks and scared every day. Ive had 3 scans so far and cried before each one afraid I'll get bad news.
My only advice would be stay away from the Instagram explore page it's all pregnancy related with good and bad stories and if you read all the bad ones you'll convince yourself you're next. Ive overeducated my brain with bad stories, ignorance is bliss. My next scan isn't for 2 wks and it can't come quickly enough.

Thank you I was really blaming myself for drinking a lot a couple weeks ago but I didn't even know I was pregnant then and getting myself so stressed about things but I know there's nothing can do now so no point doing that xx
Please be assured this isn’t down to your drinking or any of your doing.
You’d unlikely have shared a blood supply yet even so it wouldn’t have possibly reached them. Not to mention, Alcoholics and drug addicts give birth to babies every day. So many people drink before they know they are pregnant; there are even reports of girls drinking and smoking purposely because they think ‘low birth weight’ means an easier labour. I understand this can make it feel even more unfair but I want you to know this isn’t your fault.

I’m so sorry you are going through this, and the other ladies experiencing a loss too, I’m so, so sad for you. Sending you lots of love xx

My little boy is almost two now lol, but did anyone else do loads and loads of tests? Even when the results were beyond positive😆
I just kept buying more and more to double check and then analyse the lines and torture myself!
