That post in general has really rubbed me up the wrong way, but also her bullshit about not being able to manage staff and scale up etc - she had staff (Amelia and Jess, maybe some packers at some point) in her house way before moving to the studio. She is such a liar and she's insulting everybody else with ADHD who also may struggle with life but are decent people. I also find it ironic that she's been having therapy for over a year but her therapist has presumably not thought she has ADHD? It's something she's decided to pursue herself, go private and get a diagnosis in a matter of weeks. It's actually shameful how much she's broadcasting it all.

Whilst I agree with a lot of the points in the above posts, I also don’t think we should be trying to persuade each other to ‘move forward’ or ‘it is what it is’ simply because.
We live in a world full of injustice and when you can hold someone accountable, you should. Polly has rejoined the online world on a wobbly foot at first then slammed her way through the door with ‘business as usual’ posting (yoga, breakfast, passive aggressive cat food delivery) and as much as I would like to believe she’s a changed person with a new perspective, I can’t see it.
It is uncomfortable to hold people accountable, definitely and whilst I do not agree her friends or work opportunities should cease to exist, I do believe that she has not felt the full consequences of her actions. Taking a year off and going into hiding does not show the world that you are a different person, it shows us you are a coward and not willing to listen to your community.
Her parents would’ve wrapped her up in Tory-style bubble wrap and coddled her. Her mother said during the time that Polly was a victim of online harassment/bullying and I think that is how she would’ve been treated during her time away.
I hope I’m wrong and she has changed simply for the fact her tweets were so vile. Someone above said that it wasn’t out of the ordinary to say such horrid things during that time period, I’m in my late 20s and as far as I know, it’s never been okay as a white person to say the N word.
Anyway, I would love to see a change and I’m prepared to give her a second chance, as we all deserve one, but so far, not so good.

I do think it's a shame she never acknowledged it better, however I have thought about it alot over the last year when things like deleted TV episodes and banned series have cropped up etc such as come fly with me, or certain American dad/ family guy/ little Britain sketches/ always sunny. Plus many other comedians and sketches where similar around that era, I quite often find myself watching old series and thinking of out of pocket some things are, and how they absolutely wouldn't be acceptable now, and these would have been from around the time of her tweets. I think attitudes changed drastically in the late 2010s and realistically some things were normalised among teenagers which whilst absolutely not okay, looking at the media from the time etc, i can see why she as a child may have thought those views were accepted as racism and homophobia was very subtly normalised in TV etc.
She definitely should have acknowledged the problem much better and not have disappeared, however I don't think she is necessarily a bad person, she just grew up around a different mindset.

Obvs last year I thought totally different but I can say my mindset on it has changed a little after making these observations about past TV and UK culture over the last year

Yeah the thing is I’d love if she came back and it felt really genuine but the fact that her accounts are private just means I can’t form my own opinion on that since everything I see will be secondhand posted here.

ALSO I think I’d respect it more if she made a new personal account and posted on her current one acknowledging that she shouldn’t just be allowed to pick up her old audience and benefit from it. She shouldn’t just get immediate access to this large platform. That was kind of the big reasons people didn’t think it was right for her to just continue on in the first place.

I find it very bizarre how her ADHD is all of a sudden holding her back in every aspect of her life. She’s kidding herself if she thinks we are all buying it. I have so many things to say, firstly the 5% charity donation if we continue to buy her stuff? What happened to the personal donation she claimed she would make (someone who spends £300 on bedding can certainly afford to make a donation from their own pocket). Also, comments off - no accountability!!! The immense privilege of being able to essentially take a YEAR off work, and then not allow people to express their opinions on it. Ok so I’m weighing back in here because I have a pottery business and I do make mostly mugs.
I’ve been making pottery for nearly 10 years and have built up a good customer base and my own style of work. My mugs range from £25-35 depending on how long the designs take. And they do take a very long time. I don’t make much profit at all on these prices and I do sell quite a lot. It is extremely expensive to produce pottery and I understand a lot of people scoff at the prices, which is fine if you’re not into it. To charge £45 for a mug with so little experience and just ripping off other peoples designs (all of hers I’ve seen are rip offs of other peoples work, some even look like mine!) is not cool. But I’ve also seen other people do the same, anyone with a large following can do it and she will sell them easily I’m sure. Makes me sick
