Obviously, those tweets were horrific and she deserved to take the hit, personally and professionally.
But I'm genuinely wondering what the 'correct' response would be if. People want to see that she's changed - specifically how can someone do that? Does she need to donate more to charity? Like, what specifically would a 'good' response be to something like this because I'm genuinely not sure and yes I've googled but honestly opinions vary.
Because honestly it feels a bit like:
Donates money to charity privately: she hasn't done anything
Donates x%: she's not donating enough (so what is enough)
Publicly shares she donates: attention seeking, inappropriate etc
Tries to hire more POC at her business: tokenism, trying to cover up her crimes
Shares books she's reading/courses she's been on: Grovelling to make £££, trying to make it sound like it's all fixed
Goes offline for a year: Hiding
DOESNT go offline: Shameful
Shares none of her life: Hiding
Shares her life: Ugh, how dare she
Shares stuff related to the tweets&fallout all the time: trying to gain favour, profiting off sharing other people's work as she gets the insta views
Shares stuff related to the tweets some of the time: so she's forgotten about it this week has she??
Shares stuff related to the tweets none of the time: how dare she try and pretend it never happened
Shares stuff about her business: how dare she
Like, what's the right thing to do - what should we be wanting to see? Yes, she used her personal brand to grow her business, I get that but at the end of the day her being a designer is unrelated so would we expect her to change industries entirely even though the industry is unrelated?
This is NOT me defending her actions, its just more of a genuine 'what is the correct thing to do' question.
