I thought the same. I’m in a similar boat, my mum died in her 40s when I was 20 of cancer and I thought it would be too much. It isn’t! I found it quite helpful actually (I haven’t listened to many episodes, sometimes it’s a big consuming and I don’t want to binge listen to 5 episodes at a time about death). I’ve avoided the episodes with a grandparent death, I know this sounds bad and it’s not a grief competition but personally I can’t relate emotionally to those.

I really like Alan Carr’s Life’s A Beach. Recently though they have been shorter and not so entertaining. I think he started them I at the! end of lockdown when he had no work I guess, but now he is busy, they have got shorter. PalOma Faith’s was very candid.
Louis Theroux’s were very good.
Off Menu - Acaster and that other guy. The Rylan, Bob Mortimer and Miriam Margolyes in particular!
Rob Brydon’s one is great.
I have not listened to radio for the last couple of years, I much prefer podcasts.I like the choice - there’s something for everyone.
(Actually me not listening to radio is a lie - I listen to Graham Norton and Rylan in the car at weekends if I am out and about, but my home listening is non existent.)

Off Menu is great, some of the episodes are brilliant.
I’m liking Kathy Burke’s podcast Where there’s a Will, there’s a Wake.
Alan Carr Life’s a Beach, some of the earlier ones are great.

Ah I’m wanting to give this a go too but worried it might be too depressing/emotional. My mum died when I was 19 and she was only in her 50’s. I heard her on parenting hell and totally agree when people’s parents die 80 odd or something and say they know how it feels. No you don’t!

I've just finished Gangster, a BBC sounds one. First series about Paul Massey and second about Curtis Warren. Was really good.

A true crime podcast about the discovery of the remains of a man and woman in the woods, 40 years after their murder. When the man's family is contacted to let them know about the discovery they want to know where is he daughter, who would now be 42 years old if still alive. Really enjoying it so far.

I'm relatively new to the world of podcasts, maybe the last year or so but my favourites are:
Help! I Sexted My Boss - Jordan North (I'm a celeb & Radio 1) and William Hanson (etiquette expert) - very funny. I'm no prude but even I blush at some of the emails they get. New episodes Tues & Fri
Rob Beckett & Josh Widdicombe's Parenting Hell - Rob Beckett & Josh Widdicombe (both comedians) - even as a non-parent I really enjoy this. New episodes Tues & Fri
The Therapy Crouch - Peter Crouch (footballer) and Abbey Clancy (model & SCD) - this is a fairly new podcast with only 5 episodes. Very funny, very chilled, so far they have been discussing how they met and their relationship etc. New episodes Tues
Going to give Wolf & Owl a go after seeing a few people in this thread recommend it.
If there are any others similar please recommend them - apart from SMA. I listened to a good few episodes but got a bit fed up which is a shame as a I really like Chris as a stand-up

ive just binged on all of the Danny Robins paranormal podcasts (battersea poltergeist/uncanny/witch farm), so so interesting! They’re all paranormal stories with multiple eye witness accounts from people who say they don’t believe in ghosts but can’t explain what they saw, very very unsettling stories! He also has sceptic on there who often has very interesting explanations for the phenomena people experience.
has anyone got any other recommendations for paranormal podcasts? I’m obsessed!

I know this is a bit of a dormant thread but I’ve just discovered the “Celebrity Memoir Book Club“ podcast. It is very funny and a bit bitchy - so far I’ve listened to the episodes about Lena Dunham, Leandra Medine, some playboy bunny who lived in the mansion, Travis Barker and Janice Dickinson. The hosts are two american 30-something female comedians. It’s good - I listen while cooking dinner.

Black box down - each episode goes through an air disaster/plane crash and how and why it happened, and more reassuringly what the industry has done to make sure they don't happen again.
