I just have ear piercings but I’d love to get a tattoo, my problem is I’m quite fickle and can’t decide on what I’d want and where. I’m also not really allowed tattoos showing because of my job so I’m thinking either back or the neck/upper back, or upper thigh possibly. I’ve had a few different ideas over the years but never felt like it was the “perfect” one. I suppose whatever I get it would just become part of me and I’d like it anyway!

One of the other piercings outside of the ear I'm thinking of getting is a navel piercing, I had a cartilage piercing done about 3 weeks ago - is there a suggested wait time (obviously after periods)? I'm feeling a bit YOLO but I want to be demure when it comes to piercings

What was the most painful place for tattoo / piercing? None of mine were too bad, it was the length of time one of them took that aggrivated me moreso than the pain
My foot was the worst.. or, the armpit, behind the knee — for tattoos.

I haven’t had my ribs done. And I don’t really find piercings too painful, although I get SO nervous having a piercing 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I’m old, so all I have are earlobe piercings. I do like the piercings people seem to have these days in all parts of their ears though. I really came on here to ask what the fascination is with tattoos on females? Not judging in the slightest, I’m just trying to understand what makes you want to keep having them. I want to be more understanding and accepting when my daughter keeps having them and I thought it might help to get some younger people’s views and opinions.
I'm almost 26 with 8 piercings including stretched ears but no tattoos 🤷🏼‍♀️ I find, most likely due to TikTok, that young people are having a 'just go with it' attitude when it comes to tattoos and piercings hence why 90% of people have either one or both nowadays in comparison to even 20 years ago. The other side to it as well there's a lot of peer pressure because of it too, but it's not severe... I felt like I saw it everywhere when I was in art college though and I've had people look at me weirdly when I said I didn't have any 😭

Jordan Theresa did a pretty good recently about where the tattoo industry currently stands and her two cents as someone in her late 20s and her relationship with tattoos

Just toying with the idea atm but I have a tattoo behind my ear and recently I’ve been thinking it’s not right for me to have, it’s something that Im worried could be seen as culturally insensitive, but if I had it covered it would look even darker. Has anyone had laser tattoo removal and could share their experiences? Does it hurt a lot? Is it safe?

I have a piercing bump now 😭 not sure if it's a moisture one as my last piercer told me just to spray and not dry whereas previously I got told to dry so was doing that. A few days after not drying it's come up but it could also be from sleeping on it although I did that for 3 weeks and nothing came up

I have the usual ear piercings, a tragus, nose and belly button.
I had a clitoris piercing ( removed it )
A nipple piercing ( rejected)
A forward helix ( rejected)
Nipple piercing was by far the most painful for healing . .

Had tattoos on my boobs, lasered off now, again, extremely painful, worse than having them done.

I’m in the process of getting one of mine removed. It’s a gorgeous design but it’s quite big and on my arm. I just woke up one day and thought “ffs it’s huge and I hate it” out of nowhere and couldn’t come back from it. r/tattooremoval on Reddit has been invaluable to me and I got answers to all of my questions from other people’s posts.

Gutted that it’s 2025 and they still haven’t come up with a faster way of removal though. I can deal with the pain and cost but I have zero patience. I’ve found an amazing removal tech with the best laser and he still estimates it’ll take the best part of two years. 😞 The lighter shading goes immediately though so it is nice to see that difference as soon as you walk out from your appointment.

I might be able to help if you have questions and don’t want to go on Reddit?
Thank you I’ll check the subreddit! Will you be covering it up or aiming to totally remove it? I had a tattoo for a couple of years on my ribs and then I had the idea to add to the tattoo. Biggest mistake, because I haven’t liked my tattoo since the day I got the add on. I only have lines and no shading. If I go for removal I want it totally gone. I’m just scared that I’ll be wasting my money and it not being totally gone and hating it more than the tattoo I have now.

I had my tattoos lasered off . .
It wasn't pain free but definitely not excruciatingly painful.
Id describe it like a flicking elastic band against your skin.
Your tatt probably isnt huge behind your ear?
If you were wanting it faded to have a cover up you'd probably only need a couple of sessions . .

You do have to be careful with exposure to the sun as theoretically its new skin, so do bear that in mind.
Thanks for that, that’s answered my questions! I’m thinking either cover up OR lasering, if it was layered off I’d never get anything else over the top 😄 and this might be a stupid question, I don’t have to take time off work after having lasering do I? Like I can just carry on with my day afterwards? And how would I look after it once it’s done? Do you need special cream?

One shoulder tattoo, two ear lobe piercings and a nose ring, I used to have my belly button and the top of my ear done as well, but that never really settled because I had it done with a gun in Claire’s.

I have 8 piercings in total and only 2 tattoos (so far). For the piercings, I have both earlobes which are stretched to 10 mm currently (struggling to size up to 12!) Both nostrils, my septum, a lip piercing on the left side, a dermal anchor under my left eye and my belly button. I would love to get another dermal anchor under my right eye to even things up, and I'd love to be covered in tattoos but money stops me 😂

I just got my two piercings and asked her about it it it she said they just swap the bar to a smaller length but keep the fancy end part.
I ended up getting an anti tragus and a contra conch and upgraded the jewellery which I have never done. Usually apart from my lobes I get them pierced and never change them 😆
Ah okay, good to know... nice combo, I'm thinking of getting an anti-tragus at the end of the year

I’ve got 4 ear piercings, 2 nose, eyebrow and belly button.

I’ve also got 3 tattoos … a small grey rabbit, a ginger cat and a tiny grey owl. All my tattoos have meanings to me as I couldn’t just stuck random stuff on my body as I’m far too particular 😆

Yeah full removal - I’ve got 5 other tattoos I’m keeping but I don’t think I’ll ever trust myself to get another again in case I go off those too!

Black and grey can 99% of the time be fully removed on white skin. The main cause of you getting left with bits is if you didn’t follow the aftercare properly, like if you expose yourself to the sun too quickly afterwards or pick blisters etc. Best to get a consultation but I’d imagine you could aim for full removal! It will take a while if it’s line work but it’s such a nice feeling when you start removal and know you’re on the way. 🙂 If you’re anywhere near/can travel to Bristol then I’d recommend Wayne at the Reset Room. He used to be based in London and won best removal tech in London - so absolutely worth the travel!
Do you regret your other 5 or still love them? I have only one other one, but I still love that one and think I will love that one forever. I also don’t think I’ll be getting any more tattoos. I do like the look of some, but also scared that I will not like it on myself.

I am very white so that’s good to know. Sadly I don’t live in the UK. I’ll have to measure my tattoo and see how expensive it roughly will be per session and plan a consultation to see how many sessions I’ll need.

Thank you for your advice!

Three holes in one ear, two on the other. Belly button and nose pierced, but both in my teens and now healed up.

One tattoo, got it when I was 18 and don't regret it but wouldn't have another.

I’ve got three piercings in each ear. I was booked to get a tattoo last April, but then COVID happened  still really want to get it done. As soon as we’re allowed to I’ll be booking myself in again.

I have my daith pierced and I just have to flip the ring out to get earbuds in and they do sometimes pop out.

I will admit I find over ear headphones much more comfortable.
Maybe I won't get that then 🤔 I don't wear them often just sometimes if I'm away I wear them to sleep in so I can listen to white noise. I'd probably wear a bar I think I prefer the look of bars in general to hoops
