My friends husband is in ‘the industry’ and she told me that it wasn’t a secret that PS was gay. I think his wife must’ve known, and they probably had some sort of arrangement. I think perhaps, his daughters may not have known. Hense all the ‘My family’ schpiel on TM.
So awkward with Ruth and Eamon, they clearly don’t like him.

That Matthew was allegedly fifteen when him and Philip first met will not look too good for PS. The alleged flat in Southwark either means deceiving his wife or his wife knew and was therefore complicit. Yes, I believe that. At the moment, you see Bradley Walsh trying his best to get his son established in showbusiness with that programme they have touring the US. He started a couple of years ago bringing his son along to tv awards ceremonies. Lorraine Kelly tried shoving her daughter in front of the camera. What is particularly annoying is that there is a very limited tv industry in this country and these people dominate that market - nobody else can get on the ladder let alone climb it.

its a sad state of affairs honestly. its all about 'who you know' and not 'what you know'. The children of these 'celebs' are literally clones of the parents.. no diversity with who we see on our screens at all! beyond frustrating! Im just grateful I found another passion and made a career out of it!
One of the saddest stories I heard was of a girl on my course who got her job as a BBC editor because she was sleeping with the bosses son.. and later the boss himself!

I've watched the clip where Scofield cuts Ruth off and I honestly don't see it as that rude or meant with malice. He has an earpiece on him and is being shouted at to speed things up and are on strict timelines/guidelines and Ruth was rabbiting on. I have to agree with you. He has had the producer in his ear telling him to wrap it up. Out of the 2 I actually think Ruth was the most rude.

It's a tough one. I don't doubt that your opinion is right in some cases, and that a life together is based on genuine love. But none of us can guess what his wife is truly feeling, and if it was me personally, I would be feeling robbed.

There is MASSIVE deception around that kid anyway , but Phillips body language is all wrong . His voice sounds weird like he's trying to control himself and he blatantly isn't interested in whether this kid is being exploited and has become ultra narcissistic because of it .

As I think this could be referring to an earlier post of mine, to clarify I absolutely believe there is still homophobia today, but it’s not RIFE. That’s the word I objected to. And I absolutely believe it would’ve affected his career back then, as his core fan base and appeal wasn’t to gay men but housewives and young girls. Which is why the bearding makes it feel manipulative for his success.

I wasn’t referring to anyone in particular. More to the general population.
And I do believe in certain parts of the uk it is unfortunately still rife. Metropolitan cities fine. Smaller counties and countries not so much. I know people who have had to leave their small towns as they weren’t accepted at all.
Its not everyone’s experience but it is for some. I think Phil would have had a better experience being a rich,white, london, male in the media. But someone in a religious community in the highlands might not be. In some parts of the uk being a single mother is still shameful.

Anyway that’s a chat for a different thing.
