Ok. So this is from 2014 when I was a nurse in ITU and was looking after a patient who couldn’t maintain his blood pressure. He was being treated for Cancer. Long story short, due to chemo and sepsis he ended up on ITU for 24 hours. He was chatting to me during my shift as he was a level 2 not 3 patient. So not vented etc etc. He told me that he had been a patient with Peter Kay and he had Leukaemia.
I feel like Peter Kay having leukaemia has reached urban myth levels now. And like all urban myths there’s always someone’s friend of a friend/second cousin/great uncle who saw said thing happen with their own eyes so it can’t possibly be made up.
Who knows what the truth is? Peter has never said a word and the media have kept it hush-hush. I think the extreme secrecy makes it less likely to be cancer tbh. I can’t imagine why someone would be so concerned with keeping things hidden when they’re in the throes of cancer treatment and have bigger things to worry about. Plenty of celebs have gone through treatment and not been hounded by the press, so I can’t imagine PK being treated any differently.

I used to work for a national charity that Peter Kay had supported in the past. Everyone working there hated him, he'd been a right pain to work with, never confirming the terms on which he'd donate any ticket proceeds which made it a right headache when promoting the partnership as you can't tell the public that a donation is going to charity without being really clear how much (and it's the charity on the hook). Would never sign an agreement to confirm the arrangement (again, an obligation on a charity working in this way). So when his agent approached us again and we went through this whole rigmarole again and were told to lump it as 'Peter doesn't sign anything' everyone was so pissed off as it was way more hassle than it was worth. Compared to celebs like Ed Sheeran and Greg James who were absolutely lovely to work with. So yeah, he's a douche.
I could believe that it's health reasons, and the press couldn't reveal that due to health info being so strictly protected under GDPR. But it could be the health of a family member, not necessarily him.

I disagree. Ticket sales go on sale Saturday at 10 am. By the afternoon all the original dates will be sold out and additional dates already added. I know he's been gone a while but if you can do what he did selling out a tour staying in one city making people travel to you, this one where he actually travels around the country will be an easy sell out.

That was a good series, although as much to do with the rest of the cast and the writing, as Peter Kay. I much prefer him as a character on television.
I’ve seen him do stand up live, wasn’t impressed tbh, and in real life he doesn’t sound like a nice person at all.
Think I posted on this thread years ago about his weird vibes during interviews. Characters, a stand up routine hilarious. Not so much when it's not scripted. There is something off and that pains me because he's funny. I actually fancied Kay because he was so funny but I digress I think he's probably a wanker. Look at what the people who've worked with him say.
Being a Northerner, I have laughed my socks off at some of Peter Kay's routines, as well as Car Share and some of the other shows he has done. It's been when he's on chat shows and the like when I've found him annoying. It's like he has to hog the attention and doesn't seem to let anyone else shine. He interrupts when others are being interviewed and has to make it about him. Fine, if he's the one man show but not when you're sharing a platform with others (even if those 'others' are egotistical themselves). It's plain rude. I'm not going to be in the queue to see him live but I will be looking out for what he does next, if I'm honest.
I don't think he does well in interviews! He used to be a warm up guy so he's probably more used to making the audience laugh than to be serious and answer questions. He always mucks about!
I do think it's good he has kept his ticket prices low though.

I'm telling you all, I remember an interview were he was really obnoxious, parkie maybe? I remember feeling duped by him. He didn't come across well at all. And it wasn't an interview were he was climbing about the set, there was a nastiness guys.

A lot of the things he jokes about are things I recognise from my own upbringing and daily life. That’s what makes him so funny IMO.
