I saw some pictures on IG and people were saying that he looks unwell but in truth he looks great- he just used to be very overweight. I saw the warm up show a few weeks back in Salford and he looks really well - trimmed down but still with a bit of a tummy . Its a great show and I'm so pleased i saw with only 150 other people 😊

Did anyone watch the Friday Night Dinner reunion, which was filmed when Paul Ritter was very poorly with his brain tumour. He looked completely unrecognisable, very bloated. I can only assume as result of his treatment.

I’m a huge Peter Kay fan, his comedy has brought me comfort, many laughs and a connection to my roots.
I do think something major has gone on for him, to have gone off into obscurity as suddenly as he did.
Hardly anything I watch on TV shocks/upsets me, but seeing Paul Ritter just about reduced me to tears 😟. He looked so very poorly 😞. Loved him, great actor 🤘🏻

I’ve been out with him, when we have just been chatting, having a drunk, going for a walk - and you wouldn’t believe how rude people are, demanding photos etc. He’s not a fan of selfies, and certainly won’t pose for pictures when he’s with his kids … and people get really nasty when he says no. He’ll happily sign autographs, but you try keeping a smile on your face when people are trying to “secretly” film you.

He is very very different when he’s “off screen / stage” - typical comic. I don’t understand why people expect him to be jolly all the time - it’s odd to say the least.
I can believe it. If you’ve ever worked with the public you’ll know what absolute c*nts they can be. If you’re telling the truth, then I’m SO glad he’s well and coming back with a tour ❤

anyway, I managed to get tickets for Sheffield next September! Just 4 for us, my sister and partner. Could have got more, but I took what I needed because I'm not an arse.

can’t believe how lucky I was, but I had loads of windows open ready and primed and one window found seats. I’m so happy, that’s really cheered me up after a few shitty months. 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

I expect watching his loved one go through treatment is taking a toll on him. He looks fine to me. There have been loads of twitter rumours about him having cancer as he’s been seen at Christie’s cancer hospital in Manchester but presumably that is where his loved one is having treatment?

His original statement implied it was a family member not himself and he stated then he protects his families privacy, so I expect that’s why it’s not reported on.
I've just looked for the pictures and I second this. Yes the hair is thinner but he hasn't been in the public eye for 10 years or so. Hair thins as you age, and stress will also cause it.

I applaud him for being so private.

The fact it's known as "Peter kays" pheonix nights must sting too for Dave and Neil
Both of them have had lots of other successes, I'm sure they're not short of a few bob. It was good to see Dave in Alma'a Not Normal last year. I've got loads of time for him, used to watch his stand up around Manchester when I was a student and he was absolutely brilliant.

PK on the other hand, is one of those people who is clearly all loveable public image, and after he's gone we'll hear lots about what a knobhead he was in private.

I went to see him last night at the o2- was a bit wary as saw all the comments about the show but I laughed until I cried. Really enjoyed it. Yeah there was some old stuff but I like the old stuff…

Someone in the Secret Celeb Gossip thread (I think), said that he gets BJs from fans when he goes on tour.
Him and Sheridan Smith were filming a one off itv Christmas programme called Panto set in my local town and a friend who was working at the hotel they were stopping in whilst filming said she saw them on several occasions kissing and all over each other...

I've noticed so many people questioning what is wrong with him but I thought it was more than obvious in his statement at the time that someone in his family was seriously ill and so he cancelled the tour to be with them. It can't be easy trying to be funny every night if someone you love is going through a serious illness. I have heard a few rumours that it's his wife who has cancer and that she had previously had it before so not sure if she is terminal which would be very sad.

Thing is are people really going to go out buy a dvd player and his dvd so they can watch or are they going to just find something else they can stream instead feel sorry for Neil and Dave they don't seem to have much of a say 😐

Was a fan years ago, not now.
Comedy has moved on and I can’t see how he will fit back in. Don’t doubt he will sell out the tour, some people haven’t moved on either.
Also he’s not a nice person, a close friend is friends with his tour manager and has told us some stories. He’s not as nice as he professes to be. Certainly not a man of the people.
It was him that was ill, he had leukaemia and was quite poorly.

It must kill PK that most of the memorable stuff from Phoenix Nights wasn't his character - the thing that sticks in people's minds are things like Dave singing 'Black Bin Bags' in Asda.

We had tickets too but we said we wouldn’t rebook if he ever said he was going to redo it. I know that probably sounds petty and I’m sure he had good reason for it but he always comes across as someone that doesn’t care about his fans. They like his tv shows etc but he just stops them.
Yeah, that’s definitely petty of you

Hes always done charity shows though hasn't he personally I wouldn't read to much in to it, I saw a clip of the show this morning and he looks the same really no dramatic weight loss hair loss as others have said. Who knows we wont ever find out. Wonder if he will make a tv comeback. I honestly think he will have to update his material though dont think it will go down well today.
He hasn't updated his material in twenty years 😂

I'm really hoping that everyone in Scotland reads this thread, decided Peter Kay is a t**t, and therefore doesn't want tickets to his show, so that I can get good seats 😃😃😃

He probably is a bit of a git. But I still think he's funny. Wish me lucky getting tickets🙏🙏🙏

We still have dvds and my son still buys them too. We don't have a huge amount but they're there for times like when the internet goes down (we don't have sky etc and the TV isn't plugged into an ariel so rely on the internet for TV and streaming services). About a year ago, BT were doing some work near us and cut the wrong cable resulting in internet being down for a few days so they got us through!

Peter Kay sounds like he's on deaths door now. Probably shouldn't have been fat Peter, you hypocrtial unfunny cunt.
he survived leukemia, I don't like the fella but being chubby didn't cause his health issues and he doesn't deserve to be unwell

I have a family member with a close friend who was a part of Phoenix Nights, the leukemia rumour is unfortunately true :(
