I've noticed what others have said about him appearing more arrogant.

I always thought he was quite misunderstood and was a sensitive, kind person under all of the bravado but the way he's come across on the podcast lately makes him come across as quite rude and unpleasant.

Has anyone listened to today's podcast? Pete and Sam received a message from two single girls keen to go on a double date. Same rang one of them on air and he and Pete chatted with her about going on the date and getting a date in the diary. She was really surprised and excited and then when the call ended Pete immediately said he wasn't going to go. Even though it was Sam that called, Pete definitely encouraged her on the call and him then saying he wasn't going to go came across quite badly imo.

I think Pete has quite serious issues around relationships. Wouldn’t surprise me if it stems from issues around his dad leaving them.

I think he’s said as much in the interviews he’s done since his book release (Paul Brunson I’m sure was the main one I’ve heard). He leaves people before they get a chance to leave him.

I personally think they're just mates. Pete seems to have a fair few close female friendships and I suspect he is genuinely a very kind and caring person behind the scenes. It must be very frustrating to have people speculate that every female friendship is more than that and perpetuates the annoying line of thinking that men and women can't be friends.

Pete’s at Stringfellows most nights. Has lots of female friends there too. Pete only has “friends”. He has said time and time again that he can’t commit.

I started listening to his book this morning. The first chapter is about his Nan and as someone whose Nan was also my best friend (and it’s just been the anniversary of her death) I’m starting the day as a blubbering mess

Don’t get me wrong I like Pete and having spent a fair bit of time in his company he’s a really decent bloke who’s been trashed beyond belief by the British media. Yes he’s been through a fair amount of women but so have a lot of the guys around here and as they’re not in the spotlight they get away with nothing being said. I don’t think Pete’s the type to fuck up his Strictly experience by messing with Jowita he’s too professional for that so if anything is to happen between them it will be after he leaves. I do think they’ll stay friends though. As for Maura if there’s anything going on it will be a friends with benefits type thing but I think they’re just mates who play on the rumours every now and then

I love Pete, he’s a very cool guy. My friend met him on a night out and said he was really down to earth. I trust her judgement.

regarding love he just comes across so guarded and sceptical it will be hard for someone to truly get his wall down. He has absolutely no issues finding women or getting their attention, he could click his fingers and have a girlfriend tomorrow I’m sure, it’s more in his own head.

I’m well and truly hoping him and jowita fall madly and love and ride into the sunset together .. but somehow it doesn’t look likely

I wonder if it’ll lose him and jowita votes, people love the Romance and seem to be shipping them. If the connection isn’t genuine then that’s kind of their appeal isn’t it? Because he’s certainly not the best dancer. Maura seems to of popped up more very recently when things seemed to be hotting up and now jowita is saying they’re friends after 6 weeks of almost pushing the potential romance rumours. As I said before I did notice Pete seemed to of cooled with jowita very recently also. There was a point nearer the beginning where he literally looked smitten and was very touchy feely/eye contact/body language with her. Also posting way way more. It’s cooled for sure.

I agree. She was single, just split up from Pete and had to sit a table away from him after he cheated! Danny was supposed to be her friend and he kissed her(despite being married), then let her to take the majority of the fallout! Who needs enemies with friends like him!

I think something definitely happened because since she said the cheating comment, they don’t like any of each others posts anymore (and they were heavy on the liking when they were “dating”)

Although I’m not a Maura fan I do feel a bit sorry for her because she did seem to be falling for Pete and talked about him quite a bit when she was in the jungle. Maybe it just got a bit too much for him which seems to be a recurring pattern. Unless they set all of that up to get the press to get off their back to allow privacy…I doubt it though.

I always think Pete would be better matched with a lady out of the limelight. Just a “normal” girl who’s never been on telly

Agreed. This is a grown up side which I think will be good for this own development. Sam is hyper and this will be good for the more serious Pete which we know exists

I think it’s good for him to separate his brand from Sam a bit

Just listened to the Sunday Roast Podcast. Apparently Pete had a fall over Christmas, drunk he tripped over Eric, hit his head on a coffee table and knocked himself out. He had a candle burning on the table and woke up with wax over his face !!! Ouch

I listened on my lunch today and honestly what a sad depressing Christmas he had.He said he never got any gifts,got blind drunk and had yet another fall and knocked himself unconscious.His dog was licking his face as he came to.A candle had fell on him and his eye was burnt.What the fuck,if I was him mum or family I’d be seriously worried.

When it was speculated about Huw there was a ban in this country from the press revealing who it was but it didn’t stop people abroad confirming it. Possible it is the same in this case if indeed it is true

Oh absolutely. I’m just not going to assume it’s true because of one anonymous comment from a brand new Reddit account on a thread where a lot of ‘tea’ has turned out to be false.

If it ends up splashed across the Sunday papers because it’s true, he will deserve everything that comes his way. But at the moment, it’s one anonymous comment which we can’t prove is reliable.

I’ve enjoyed the Blackpool and Christmas videos that they put on YouTube, mainly for Josh’s comedic timing, but the videos feel a little like they were made by a student, especially with the fizzled endings, it’s not quite fleshed out well enough from start to finish.

Agree that the amount of interjection from others on the podcast, especially Pippa, is starting to get annoying.

Pippa irritates me the most. It’s such a shame as it was one of my favourite podcasts. I do think winning the jungle went to Sam’s head abit but Pete keeps him grounded.
