Is a very dry mouth a symptom suffered by anyone else? In the summer heat, I could understand needing more water and a dry mouth but it's ongoing, especially at night. I drink approximately 6-8 large hi ball style glasses of water a day, around 2 1/2ltrs so, I'm sure I'm not dehydrated.
Are you breathing through your mouth?

You could try Biotene mouthwash, it’s a saliva replacement and helps overnight, to see if it relieves things.

My current wtf symptom is that my face gets very sore and irritated in my luteal phase. My rosacea flares really badly, especially now a few days before my period.

For this and other reasons I know I’m going to have to get on progesterone soon but I don’t really want to.

I couldn't say, as I'm asleep, well in-between waking up thirsty and needing a wee, I am :ROFLMAO: When I'm awake, I do both.

We have some ordinary mouthwash, I might try that tonight and look at getting some biotene, thanks.

I was also waking with dry mouth and I knew it was because I was mouth breathing. Sleep patches to keep my mouth closed have been a game changer as it forces me to breathe through my nose. I've literally halved the amount of times I wake up now 😴

I get a dry mouth because I mouth breath . O read somewhere that swishing water around your mouth makes it more moist than just having a drink. My mouth also gets really dry if I'm coming down with a virus .

I bought some ashwaganda gummies and then read that some people use them to sleep because they feel relaxed and some for energy. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I haven’t tried them yet because I didn’t want to test the reaction on an office day! I’m going to try them tomorrow and see what happens. I was hoping it would help with the anxiety.

I’ve been having this on and off for a few years now and had no idea it was connected
I thought it was something else (possibly anxiety meds)

I’ve not noticed a connection to my cycle but tbh I haven’t tracked it but mine is triggered by heat, cold even just showering and even a sip of alcohol sets it off my face gets so red and looks sun burned 🥵

definitely hormonal for me. The main reason I know is that I had to take a menopause inducing drug a few years ago and it totally went away. I had beautiful clear skin with no estrogen in my system.

It's exactly this. It starts late evening but it's mainly I'm waking up in the night with a very dry mouth. But, then drinking water makes me wake more as I need another wee! I'd just got my sleep back on track but now I'm waking up in the night more again. I don't have night sweats and I'm not even hot in bed so, I can't even say it's that.

It's like I've been on a night out but without having had alcohol and I don't have kebab on my face :ROFLMAO:
That’s exactly it! Like a hangover!

Sorry to all who work over Christmas and new year but thank Christ I’ve finished work until January.
sleep has been elusive and I’m just dead on my feet. One night woke at 2.30 and couldn’t get back to sleep, next night I was awake until gone 3. I just can’t cope anymore and really I should have rang in sick, one day I was on a call and felt physically sick with tiredness. Didn’t feel this bad with a newborn.
What doesn’t help is that I feel too tired to make good food so don’t bother eating so there is then even less energy in the tank. Obviously have a supportive husband who says things like I woke at 5:30 so I’m tired too, I’ll just have cheese and crackers for dinner to save you cooking

Three social events this week and I only made one. Ladies, I used to go to every event going 😭 I'm just annoyed/irritated by everyone and just so tired. I'll suck it up for Xmas day but the lack of interest is crazy. I'm not even sure I hate it though as I love alone time too 😱😀🙈

Aww you poor thing! I’m in the same boat and I also have a “supportive” hubby who’s tired too despite having infinitely more sleep than me 🙄 you’re lucky he’ll have cheese & crackers as mine still wants a cooked meal and loudly says I’m on strike if I decide I don’t feel like cooking tonight, ducking men! (He’s a good guy all round & I love him dearly, but he does turn into a misogynistic pig when it comes to dinner time 😤) I find a difference with taking magnesium and ashwagandha just before bed, I’ve been taking it for a month now and I have slept a lot better, I take it around 9pm and I start feeling very sleepy, I still wake once or twice in the night for a wee, but I’m able to drop back off much easier and then I usually wake just before 5, but I’ve been feeling more rested when I wake instead of feeling hungover or sick with tiredness.

I’m with you there! I used to be a social butterfly and now I’m a complete bore 😒 I’m irritated by everyone too & I’m getting to the point I just want peace & home comforts. Hubby and I both come from small families so our Christmas traditions have been going to a show Xmas Eve, a Christmas Day swim & carol singing on the beach before home for dinner & another full day out for Boxing Day. Plus I work all over Christmas so I’m absolutely cream crackered & dreading the thought of it all! We have teenage/young adult children who love these traditions with us so there is no let up. Perimenopause is kicking my a to make me uninterested in all this 😫

I always used to want to get involved and out as much as possible, but I'm not really feeling festive this Year either. We had to abandon plans for a concert on Friday night and a carol service today as Mr L has a nasty chest infection and cough. Historically, I would've been grumpy and disappointed, I was just relieved this year. I'm looking forward to drinks with the neighbours on Monday afternoon, lovely group of ladies, all above 80 but great fun.
It's just me, Mr L and my parents Christmas Day, off to football with friends Boxing Day and that's it.
And, nothing NYE as my friend is working.

My mother was probably starting peri when I was hitting puberty. We had some awful fights. I used to resent her cause I thought she treated my dad badly, but I'm wondering was it because of menopause.

A quick calculation, and this would've been the same for me. And, being 40 odd years ago, our Mother's would've had far less information and support.
Some of the things we've experienced we know is menopause because we're sharing here, we're getting supplements from Amazon or hrt etc. Imagine suffering all we do, with no help and having a stroppy pubescent teenager to deal with

God you’re so right! My mum was 35 having me so yeah it explains why she was insufferable on times! I was 29 having my daughter and I’m 44 now, I’m hanging on by a thread not to behave like my mother did but now I’m thinking I should cut her some slack 😅🫣 she passed away 5yrs ago and although she was a nightmare on times I miss every hair on her head

I haven't actually asked mine how old she was, we don't really have those sorts of conversations and as she's 89 now, she may not even remember exactly. But, I would've been 9 when she was 45 and 14 when she was 50, so all in the right sort of area. I didn't have any symptoms until 51 so, she might have been later, too and was about 13 when my periods started.
It's a lot of hormonal changes in one household. It's no wonder my dad had 2 allotments :ROFLMAO:
