For 2 years now my hair has become greasy less than 24 hours of washing it. I started HRT a year ago and it hasn't made no difference to my hair. I hate it as my hair is lank and fine as it is and its thinning. I've tried Elvive hydra pure without success. I've looked around and shampoos advised are expensive. I can't afford them as I do not work. Is there anyone who can recommend anything that doesn't cost the earth? I hate hormones as they really mess up us women. My mum sailed through her menopause and I was hoping the same but no such luck.
Mine went through this horrible stage a few years ago. Within a few hours of a morning shower it would feel disgusting and my scalp would be itching and tingling. I avoided any conditioning and alternated between Simple and a clarifying shampoo, this seemed to help

I've always had oily roots, so peri hasn't really changed that for me. But don't put conditioner on - use a spray leave in conditioner - I find that's much better and I can get longer between washes. I've also tried all sorts of dry shampoos to get longer between washes and there's one I got on TikTok - Rehab, a little bit of that on my roots seems to help. I can get between 2-3 days before I need to wash it and that's amazing for me.

Im on the same too. They are brilliant! Not nighttime sweat, and im able to have consistent sleep.
The only thing I find is im having a break-out of spots on my chin. I also have the most vivid dreams.
Ohhhh, I’ll watch for that! 🙏🏼

Try Dove Men Care shampoo with Charcoal & Clay. I used to buy the Elvive one with clay and it was amazing then they discontinued it 😣 The dove men’s is closest I have found xx
Thank you I will give this a try

I looked at rehab but it's out of my price range. Its the company Stacy Solomon is involved with.

If you have light coloured hair try talcum powder instead of dry shampoo. Its alot cheaper but ensure you don't have any residue showing

I have been so tired today, took myself off to bed at lunch time! Now I’m grumpy because I’ve wasted a day off 😤 sick of being so tired! I sleep at night well so why??? 🤦‍♀️

Same. I then have to deal with the guilt of feeling like I’m neglecting my 6 year old as I regularly need nana naps.

I had an eye opening chat with a neighbour yesterday, she's 43 and has recently gone on HRT. She'd never considered peri but her debilitating anxiety and poor sleep was crushing her. Got her bloods tested, and yes, it was peri. I'm 44 and have struggled with anxiety for a few years now - chalked it up to some significant life stressors - but my periods have gone whakadoodle this year especially, my sleep is not what it once was, and well, anxiety can creep up on you, can't it? I started on beta blockers, and moved to mirtazapine, lowest dose. I am working on weaning myself off those now, and scared the crippling sleep sucking anxiety will come roaring back. But maybe it's something to do with peri all along, and fixed with HRT.

Anyone had anxiety as their main peri symptom?

Yes, I've had a lot of anxiety recently. It's not anxiety in my mind , it's my body do anxiety responses so it's not sleeping, heart pounding and belly churning, thatsort of thing. Any mind anxiety I can relate to an actual thing that's going on but my body goes into anxiety overdrive.

Thanks. Sounds familiar. Fingers crossed I can get in to see the same GP my neighbour did, we're at the same surgery!

Has anyone else developed “ burning mouth syndrome”?
I’ve had spells of this before when I was tapering off a mental health med, but it’s been gone for over a year, and all of a sudden this week it came back and now instead of just my tongue burning, it’s my lips and throat.
I can’t get any relief really, already taking a toll

Thank you for this - I was so annoyed when they discontinued the Elvive one.
