My build has always been rather lanky. I'm a long leggy peggy (not shapely legs, though, more like two pieces of string with knots tied in the middle) and I'm still very slender, but I've definitely always had a rounded middle (or little pot belly) even back in my teens/20's. It's totally normal, isn't it? I could never have endured the agonises of trying to get a washboard stomach.

I've always looked like a potato on toothpicks, no matter how much I weighed. Even when my stomach issues got really bad and I dropped to 118 pounds, I still had a pot belly. Even when I was in my early 20s and went to the gym and swam every day, I STILL had a pot belly.

Learned later that PCOS can cause this. 😕

I have a new found acceptance and gentleness of my lower belly which has always been more Rubenesque whether I’m a 10, 12 or 14. Now knowing I have adenomyosis, understanding the actual body parts that make the shape and knowing I need to treat them with kindness has made me feel really forgiving of myself for my natural (not going to the gym but regularly swimming) shape.

No period now for nearly three months. Feels like it’s going to come every day. Life on the edge eh🤣 Sending good vibes to everyone suffering in the heat 🥵

Oh tit yes, I know the feeling. My period lasted 39 days with big clots and flooding then nothing for 66 days then it came again. I’d rather just be punched in the head a couple of times rather than worrying every time I leave the house. Meh.

I’m just coming on for a moan (again). I follow a really annoying runner who today is smashing a middle distance tri out of the park. I’m on day 22 and feel like I’ve been resurrected. I’ve just done a try on and all of my jeans look tit. I’ve been doing weights and walking loads and I can see the impact elsewhere but my middle looks like it hasn’t even gone near a dumbbell.

I miss the person who could work out all day, run marathons and ultras and still go to work. Who wasn’t anxious about driving or even taking the dog for a walk. This runner (and I know Instagram is a facade) just highlights that my body is no longer what it was, it won’t do what I want it to. I see runners my age smash events and look amazing. Why do I have to wear wide waistband tit just so I don’t feel constricted?

Moan over. At least we knew the 90s because we were there ❤ .

I’ve been reading just how hard it is to tackle this meno belly business. I hill walk every day. Nothing doing- no change whatsoever to this in-built buoyancy aid o’ mine.

Waist bands may become dead to me. Dungarees for the win.

Why does Davina look so good, it’s just beyond my understanding.

I’ve just cried at my wife. She has her own peri struggles and although yesterday we raged all day at each other, having a hug and a cry with someone who gets helped.

Onwards and upwards. Jeans are now in the vinted pile.

I think she must be at it almost all day everyday.

I am starting to do a bit of soft coaching on myself about being a 47 year old woman, and maybe it’s ok to look it.

I’m a week off from being post menopausal but for the last weeks I have had awful bloating.

I know it can be caused by drops in estrogen (I’m not on HRT) and I’ve had a lot of bloating in peri but never for this length of time.

Has anyone else had this?

If we all had Davina money we could probably sail through peri/menopause and look good as well

I think this when I’m buying more supplements and buying dumbbells etc - it does make it easier if you can afford extra help through it

Controversial probably but I don’t think Davina looks great. I think she looks thin and drawn. Like as if shes undereating and over exercising . I’m embracing the belly. I exercise for sure but too thin can make us look unhealthy as well. Be kind to yourselves too ladies it’s all such a lot.

I dont think she looks that great either, but she works hard at her fitness , and she seems happy with it . But women who her less toned and carry more weight aren't worth any less.

I have had terrible bloating. Boots IBS Wind and Bloating Relief capsules have really helped even though I didn't think it was trapped wind/air at all.

I’m sorry if my comments came across like that. I really didn’t mean them too. I’m really struggling with my body image atm and to see some women do the things that I used to be able to do with ease is affecting me hugely.

I've been on Wegovy for a few months and my night sweats have nearly totally gone. Only had about 3. Amazing to go from waking nightly with a drenched pair of underpants and feeling like I'd wet myself, to being back to normal.
Anyone else take Wegovy and noticed this?
