Thank you! Adding it to the regime.
Not ridiculous at all - I think even a very scant period counts as a period. Your body is still going through the motions trying to produce one.May I ask what is classed as a period in regards to perimenopause and menopause.... I know that sounds ridiculous, however I have soon many symptoms of peri, but also when I get asked about periods I only bleed for 1 day. And spot for a max of 2. No hormonal contraception
Thank you, it's difficult to know what's what when you're in the middle of it all. Does anyone have any advice on how to get taken seriously about your peri symptoms and pretty much lack of period bar one day when you're only 34? I'll be 35 in May.Not ridiculous at all - I think even a very scant period counts as a period. Your body is still going through the motions trying to produce one.
I remember also a wierd phase where I had all the symptoms - PMT, cramps etc but no bleeding. Very strange.
When I was your age my period only lasted 2-3 days at most. I also was not regular and had big gaps between periods. If this is your normal period then I wouldn’t have thought you were in peri. What other symptoms do you have?Thank you, it's difficult to know what's what when you're in the middle of it all. Me! Gained about 8kg in 10 months on HRT- it is one of the listed common side effects. Eventually I quit the HRT cold turkey due to other side effects and gradually lost all the weight.Anybody gained weight - not from peri itself (I think I was already in it for a while) but from HRT? I've been on HRT two months and in the last few weeks my weight has just started piling on, despite my diet not changing at all. Literally gained around a stone.
In my case my thyroid being “normal” is no use, it has to be “optimal”. How was your vitamin d?I've recently had a selection of blood tests done, general ones not peri specific, but they've all come back normal/ satisfactory. I was hoping there would be a reason why I'm so bloody knackered all the time .
I’ve been a big advocate of HRT but recently my symptoms have returned. I mentioned it to the dr and to the nurse who did my review. They said nothing!! Had a full blood panel done as I was feeling knackered all the time, more than knackered actually exhausted. Even my daughter said what is wrong with your eyes.I’ve stopped my hrt this month. No hot flushes, no night sweats. I’m wondering if I went through some weird imbalance and didn’t really need it for so long? I’m losing weight now as well. Anyone else just quit it?
Mine have all come back normal, including my FSH. Though I haven't had my follow up appointment with my GP yet, just reading the results on the NHS App. Will ask her about this when I see her.In my case my thyroid being “normal” is no use, it has to be “optimal”. How was your vitamin d?
Not sure vit d was one of the tests. In my case my thyroid being “normal” is no use, it has to be “optimal”. How was your vitamin d?
Ah in that case and you don’t take it, try a week taking some strong ones and see if you feel different. When mine drops that makes a huge difference really fastNot sure vit d was one of the tests.
I was taking vit b complex then I read to take it later in the day instead of mornings but I usually forget.Ah in that case and you don’t take it, try a week taking some strong ones and see if you feel different. When mine drops that makes a huge difference really fast
I did have bad anxiety as part of peri symptoms, once I started HRT, my anxiety dialled right down.Does anyone suffer with increased anxiety? I’m only 11 days into taking my hrt but my anxiety is so bad. I’ve always suffered with anxiety (since I was 10) but I literally feel like I can’t leave the house. I’m due back at work tomorrow as I’m 4 weeks post surgery but I’ve rang them to say that even tho physically post surgery wise I’m almost recovered, mentally I’m not ok.
This gives me some hope. I’ve managed my anxiety previously mostly without the need for medication. But it’s something I’ve always suffered with but not on the scale it feels atm.I did have bad anxiety as part of peri symptoms, once I started HRT, my anxiety dialled right down.
It took about 3 weeks on HRT, for me to feel like the anxiety had subsided a lot.
My anxiety still flares up now but for a couple of hours, not for days in a row, like before HRT.
I hope you begin to feel better soon
