Itchy skin is a thing right? But what about itchy scalps specifically? Normally I can go 2-3 days without a wash (I have fine hair, so I don't like to wash it every day) and it's not at all greasy, but it's SO fucking itchy. The first day is usually fine and by the start of the second it's just itchy all over.
Yes! I want to literally scrub my skin and all over with a scouring pad it's that horrendous. Have you tried alternating shampoos aswell? Cool air from a hairdryer sometimes works to help alleviate it, otherwise it's antihistamines constantly to try and help

My GP cautioned me against this. The progesterone is there to keep the womb lining thin and if you take it daily and not have a period it can cause problems. She said the guidance of taking it everyday is for people who don't have a womb anymore, so if you are in perimonopause it's not advised. But obvs do your own research!
Thank you. My sister is in the same position as me. We’ve both had our ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as a precaution. But she takes it every day. Her surgery was a few years before mine tho.

We live in different areas of the country so maybe following different guidelines.

Hah, you must know me :ROFLMAO:

I decided back last year with high blood pressure that I had to prioritise myself, as I can't care for others if I don't take of ,myself, and also I need to be here to do that.

I love Christmas but detest all the hype and expectations this could be a good outer for that!
My blood pressure also rose with the onset of perimenopause, I didn't realise it at the time. I've manged to come off medication for it, now that I'm on HRT.

It's crazy the effect peri has on the body

I have my prescription for hrt now but I’m so confused by it all. Could do with speaking to my gp again as they told me to take the progesterone for 2 weeks on and then 2 weeks off so I’ll still have a period every month. But from reading online you can take it daily and not have any bleeding.

It’s all so new to me and I don’t think I’m actually having any menopause symptoms yet.
You can have sequential or continual HRT.

I'm on continual, so I use an Estrogen patch 2 x weekly. I'm also on a progesterone contraceptive pill but also take progesterone tablets nightly.

I've gone for this option as I had very heavy periods and wanted to get rid of that hassle, so the contious progesterone stops them.

If you have a look at some of the menopause websites, like menopause matters, they should have some helpful information.

I hope you manage to get the help you need.

It's exactly this. It starts late evening but it's mainly I'm waking up in the night with a very dry mouth. But, then drinking water makes me wake more as I need another wee! I'd just got my sleep back on track but now I'm waking up in the night more again. I don't have night sweats and I'm not even hot in bed so, I can't even say it's that.

It's like I've been on a night out but without having had alcohol and I don't have kebab on my face :ROFLMAO:
That’s exactly it! Like a hangover!

My mil is insisting I start to take 1000 strength evening primrose immediately since iv mentioned im in early menopause.

iv not done much research yet into what supplements are good for symptoms or how they interact with meds/hrt So don’t yet have any opinions properly yet and while I’m open minded on the subject my feeling is that most supplements could maybe be helpful but none will be a miracle cure.
but she has mentioned it about 10 times in the last few interactions with me or my partner etc and is acting like it will instantly cure me of everything iv ever had and will prevent all future ailments 😂 she’s being VERY pushy about it!

she’s very sweet though and it all comes from love, I am quite lucky I know that I have (a sometimes mildly annoying) mil who is nice and I get on with. I love her to bits to be honest.
I had painful breasts in peri so I took evening primrose oil. I also heard it was good for night sweats and I took it for that too but can’t say I noticed much of a difference.

I know people on here have recommended Magnesium but I’ve forgotten (🤣). I think we need Magnesium Glycinate for sleep/anxiety don’t we? The OH reckons Nutrition Geeks is the best, I’ve seen Wild has good reviews on independent websites. Wild is a bit 🥴 for me because of their constant Instagram advertising.

Anyone tried/ got any recommendations?

May I ask what is classed as a period in regards to perimenopause and menopause.... I know that sounds ridiculous, however I have soon many symptoms of peri, but also when I get asked about periods I only bleed for 1 day. And spot for a max of 2. No hormonal contraception

I've been on the estrogen gel for 2 weeks and so far no major issues, I started taking the progesterone tablets last night and I've been feeling crampy since, is that normal?

yep I think so!

I have gone from ok skin then diagnosed with early menopause and bang to chronic nothing works to fix it skin issues 😩

itchy flaky dry irritated and reddening on

scalp face inside ears

worse though is the skin issues on my vulva which even has the genital dermatologist stumped and iv had to get a skin biopsy done. Stitches out tomorrow woohoo! It’s making me miserable

plus in the last 6 months a rapi spreading red itchy patch under and between my boobs where the bra sits that is driving me nuts

tried a myriad of meds and creams and washes and emollients and nothing has worked even a little.
That sounds like it could be yeast related on the boob area, scalp and ears. Wash all your clothes and bedding hot and use vinegar in the softener section and try anti fungal cream somewhere as a test and see if it helps maybe unless you already did. I feel for you, skin stuff is hard to get help with

Does anyone use Ancient & Brave Collagen? I ordered their True Collagen a little over a week ago and their Nightcap. Not sure if it's in my head but I'm finding I'm not quite as shattered in the mornings as I have been and I'm getting back to sleep quicker from my 3am random wake-ups.

I know some people have tried teas in the past (I know I looked at some that were £50+ a month), but I've found this tea, it's loose leaf, I don't drink it too late in the day and it's been really good. I definitely have noticed a difference in my brain fog when I don't have it first thing

Thanks for this I’m going to give it a try

So my earlier post said about me upping it. I havent yet as am only in about 6 weeks i think without looking.

But I do keep bleeding off and on and its really annoying. I start my 2nd lot of pegesterone tonite, but I also missed a pump the other day, unsure whether that has done it.

But b4 hrt i was almost regular like clockwork once a month, but I am all over the place. Is this normal at this stage? How long should I put up with it as its playing havoc with my so called sex life hahah
