Parenting Hell Podcast #5

I like wolf and owl but couldn’t cope with the cringe deep advice/chat thing that Tom does/did it the end. Rom is so much cleverer than Tom that it sometimes had a Lily Allen - Miquita vibe to me although haven’t listened for ages so might be different now.

Yeah I skip the last bit it’s not any different now … in some ways as Parenting Hell, bits of similar wrestling to talk, mostly it’s fine, some episodes it’s a bit more frustrating but it’s bearable for me as I find them both very funny, and have seen them both live at their separate stand ups.

They were both very quiet today when Amol Rajan was talking about the benefits to kids growing up in London…

Not sure if there’s any fellow Wolf & Owl listeners here…but Romesh shared his views on getting asked for pictures/spoken to on the end of the most recent episode and he’s really quite spot on I think. And arguably he’s better known than Rob!

I love Wolf and Owl. Romesh is such a decent human being. Tom's a bit of a wick, but he's a loveable one

I got the distinct impression that Rob and Amol weren't exactly besties. They weren't hostile as such but there did seem a bit of an edge. That could be because Amol is quite arrogant (in my opinion) and therefore the back and forth didn't always flow easily.

I love Romesh but wish he wasn’t so self deprecating (is that the right word?). He seems like a lovely husband and father, and a decent bloke.

I’ve got such a crush on Romesh.
I find him absolutely hilarious, and like you say, just a really lovely guy.
Saying that though, I also have a crush on Tom. He’s very much the kind of guy build wise I always thought I’d end up with.
I think funny just works for me tbh

Breaking my tattle virginity to say I do not want a bloody Disney special. Especially not from those two, who have an unlimited budget to spend, and so what if your kids were bored at the temples not everything has to be about what the kids want to do. I don’t know how Josh sits there listening to it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - if Rob didn't make Josh's interruptions a thing then they could just be edited out. But if he goes on about it for ages then editing it out would make the episode shorter.

I don't have kids but I would've been interested to know how it is to travel to somewhere like Japan with kids. For example, we know his kids are very fussy eaters, so how did they navigate that?

I have a feeling they basically just went to Japan to go to Disney.

Saw Lou’s story yesterday that they arrived home jet lagged so kids woke up at 3:30 and they still sent them to school that’s something chavvy Sue Radford does. Poor teachers (even private school ones) aren’t paid enough to deal with that.
