In regards to where Rob lives, it seems like they just come into London all the time anyway? And I’d imagine his girls will be in and out of London all the time as teens? Hardly like he jacked it all in for a life off grid in the middle of nowhere.

Actually, now you've mentioned it - you guys are right, defo had an undertone. I was probably caught off guard cos he wasn't ripping the piss out of Josh for a change 😂

Its not like hes moving to the middle of nowhere like you lot are making out 😂 plenty of people ie the majority of the country manage to bring up their kids out side of London, don’t take it so personally 🫣😉

I love how some think that anywhere outside London is ‘the countryside’ 🤣.

I understood it as it was always the end game, but then the right house came up and actually it was better now rather than when the kids are older and in secondary school etc. Which I agree with. The boy is just starting school, rather than starting a new school and did their girl is at a good school age to make the move too.

I don’t think anyone is saying that? Just that they are both so scathing about people bringing up kids in London - they basically imply London is unsuitable for bringing up children, and it’s quite hard not to take it to heart when you’ve decided to bring your own children up in London (which I’m guessing you aren’t).

No I’m not so listening as a neutral it didn’t sound like that to me, they even mention how they don’t want their friends to think that. Like already mentioned Josh grew up in Devon so sounds more like he likes the idea of having similar for their kids, rather than hating on London. You yourself said he will just be driving around Exeter, as if in other towns there aren’t plenty of things to do with kids walking distance especially as he is moving around the corner from the school. And someone else said all you do in the countryside is play board games & walk 😂 I’m not having a go but these ideas that people who live in London have about the rest of the country are laughable

I said that about the walking and board games - you’re right and it was a bit stupid, sorry! Also worth noting when I’m in the countryside I’m on holiday so I’ve got no business talking about what people who live there are necessarily doing day to day. Also, where J is moving to is almost central Exeter and is surrounded by countryside but isn’t in rolling fields itself, so I was assuming again. Moral of the story, don’t assume (me), but also that everywhere has its ups and downs I think people (also me) take issue with the immediate kind of ‘uggghh we had to get out of that hellhole’ attitude people take on when they do the whole moving out thing. As I said in a post further back, Josh and Rose seem to find every minor thing so stressful and such a palaver, I will wonder how that will translate to having less activity options and less support and transport options but could be assuming on that front, too!

Anyone gone to see Rob/Josh (or both) on tour? Would love to hear some reviews, how were they?

Due to see Josh next year! Will always try to see his shows, he’s one of my faves. I’ve seen Rob before and he’s one of those where I’ve seen him off stage too much, and it doesn’t work for me with him being a stand up. He was funny, but he’s got a way about him where it seems like he’s trying too hard and I’m tense waiting for a joke to fall flat 🫣

I’m seeing Josh next month.
I saw Rob at the beginning of the year, he was good but I think I prefer his conversational comedy, if that makes sense?

I’m also seeing Josh next month but wasn’t tempted by Rob’s show. I love him with Josh and also as a duo with Romesh, but I’m not into his solo stand up that I’ve seen.

I live near to where Josh lived. To us cockneys that area’s always been 'South Hackney' but when the middle classes started moving in it was renamed Victoria Park Village. It's an affluent area now full of media types and I think I’m one of the few remaining residents that still sounds like Phil Mitchell and eats pie n mash!

As for why they probably moved, their place would easily have been worth over £2m and I’m not exaggerating. Those Victorian townhouses go for an absolute fortune and I can only imagine what you could buy elsewhere with that money. (Most of those houses have been converted into multi-occupancy flats)

On top of that Hackney Council is an absolute nightmare. They’ve shut off half the roads with low traffic neighbourhoods which just funnels all the traffic onto a few main roads actually making the pollution/traffic worse. What used to be a 20 minute journey now takes an hour and a half. Car ownership is penalised to death, residents are constantly fined and parking charges/permits are extortionate. I know for a fact Josh’s old house didn't have a designated parking space so I doubt he could’ve even parked on his own street. I can see why moving would be better for your sanity!

Saw Josh in a warm up show for this tour and he was great . Husband and I sat front row and he picked on us a bit - was funny !!

Couldn’t make seeing Rob work unfortunately , was on holiday when he was doing shows in our town !
