A house is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Yeah, I undertand that. I'm sure we've all watched Location, Location, Location and I actually worked in the mortgage industry for 24 years.
But still, these people were relocating from the USA to the UK and got a bit stitched up by the sounds of it. Yes, they were very stupid to pay over the odds - maybe they didn't do much research, maybe they just really fell in the love with the house, who knows? - but the whole tone of that blog post feels like a massive "we got one over on the buyers and all our neighbours"
and that over the top sale price will now completely skew the selling prices in the area and, in particular, that road thus further adding fuel to an already ridiculous house price situation in this country.
