This might not be a popular opinion but I would never ever make my child aware of what’s going on in Palestine and he’s the same age as Orlaith’s little boy. I don’t even put on the news while he’s still awake anymore. To be totally blunt there’s nothing we can do about it, let alone our small innocent children. There’s plenty of time when they’re older to learn about what went on. They don’t need to be at marches and protests and they certainly don’t need to be aware of the horrors.

My kids didn’t even know Covid was happening really
I don’t show them the news or talk about war with them
We have 1 tv in our house and it’s mostly on Alvin and the chipmunks or the loud house
They are under 9 years old and I want them to be happy and carefree for as long as possible

Exact same in our house. They will learn and understand when they are older, with a better understanding and ability to process such horrific happenings.

Totally agree with all of this. My daughter in particular is a sensitive soul, and she would be up fretting if she was aware of the horror that's happening over there. What good would that do? She is so young and innocent for now, and I won't shatter that for anything, including likes and kudos from strangers on the internet.

Agree with you 💯 my lg girl came from school day after the stabbing and riots in dublin and was able to tell me in great detail about it all as some child in
her class told her they are 7 kids don't need to these things 😢😢

Completely agree 👍 my 7 year old has seen pictures if the news was on and I’ve told her there is a war and she’s had a few questions about that but I don’t tell her anything unless she asks me something about it and then I try to keep it age appropriate. I’d imagine her kids are full of anxiety, I remember she said before their older boy was vegetarian and he was only about 4/5 at the time!

I agree with this completely. I saw a video doing the rounds of what I thought were 3 kids sleeping and I realised very quickly that they were not sleeping it really horrified me and I found it hard to stop thinking of it I do not want that burden on my 4 and 2 year old their innocence will not be compromised by a war that has nothing to do with them. We have signed the endless petitions, donated to the appeals and that’s as much as I’m willing to do at the moment. Israel doesn’t give one rit what she or any of us think sadly.
