Good for her. She's barely out of her teens and already secured her financial future for life. She's got her head screwed on to invest her money in to property as well. If you've got it why not make the most of it. I think a lot who hate women going on Only Fans are just jealous they don't have the looks to make that cash themselves.

I don’t believe for one second that the majority of these people are making as much as they claim. It’s all PR to send people to their pages. I really enjoyed (?) the Olivia Attwood documentary and she was brilliant, but definitely didn’t believe that some of these OF performers were earning 1000s per week.

As ever it's the top few percent that are making a 99% of the money.

People with a decent following on social media can make a fortune as they only need to get 1-2000 to start paying. But unless you're social media famous people would be better off trying to get rich from buying a lottery ticket.

Yep.

And it's the escalation of what you have to do which is dangerous. So you start just sending nudes, then your subscribers tail off (how many times do they want to see your tits before it becomes boring?), so then you start offering lives, where you do sexy stuff. Then you start selling your underwear. Then you start making bespoke content, which escalates because there is always more money to be made with more extreme stuff. Then you film you with your boyfriend, then that progresses to full blown port...then your subscribers get bored of that, and you're getting a bit old hat, and you've already done porn so would it be so bad to move into escorting and sex work with your most dedicated subscribers...etc. By the end of it, you're more and more desperate and working as a prostitute.

And most people don't make that much money, that's why the business model for the platform owners is so clever.

I went to school with¹ a girl who has an OnlyFans. No idea how much money she makes, but probably a half decent amount, because she's blonde, tall and has decent sized boobs. I also know a couple of other people who don't advertise having one, but I have suspicions that they have private accounts. No way of proving that though.

They started it by dressing it up as 'serious interviews' with people like Mia Khalifa on Hard Talk, then had BB and Lily Phillips on Victoria Derbyshire/Newsnight but platforming them does more harm than good. Especially when the flippant 'I make twice the average annual salary or more in a month' claims start flying.

The government trying to bring in age verification tech to prevent access to porn tube websites is bolting the stable door after the horse has bolted, and will make no difference when VPNs are simple to use and the media bombards us with stories that were once relegated to the Daily Sport.

Exactly, with vpns and the fact that twitter now seems to be full of porn anyway this seems pointless. I don't get why things like this are allowed when we hVe a watershed om tv for swearing etc

I'm a broken record on this I know but taking that Hannah's example above, I put her name into google with no 'xxx' or 'porn' or anything else and the second result is a link to her pornhub page where it appears you can see everything she has to offer for free. So how is the money made, why are people paying additional cash to her on OF or other platforms when she has her own free profile of her videos on a massive porn site?

Someone has said it’s a joke that they’re targeting gaming creators because those people rose their platform up or something. How sad is it that a content genre is associated with sex work, especially as the majority of the audience is probably rather young

You have to have a credit card to get anywhere on Onlyfans, which automatically means users are reasonably validated as over 18. Performers get people to message them via Onlyfans or a similarly named site (also ends in fans but I won't name it) as reasonable proof that they are over 18, these two sites are held up as examples of pretty responsible sites overall.

Yes of course some kids will manage to put their parents' card details in but if the parents don't then go nuts when charges start appearing on their statement each month or the charges each time messages are sent via these sites, then to be honest all hope is lost anyway.

There is far far worse content openly accessible on ALL everyday sites including Twitter, Tiktok, Youtube, Snapchat and even Instagram if you start searching certain hashtags or find one adult account and then start looking up that account's followers etc, and none of that requires a credit card or any adult verification (Youtube requires to be logged in for certain videos but that's not difficult to achieve). Especially twitter, it's an utter cesspit. And that's before going anywhere near Pornhub or similar which are also openly viewable without any kind of account.

Anybody getting upset about Onlyfans is *incredibly* naiive about what's easily found on other sites.

Twitter is really, really bad for this.

Poster earlier said about verifying that claims were inflated so I tried to find out rules on income for tax and vat

It says if you are in the UK you have to register for Vat if earnings are over 85k so in theory the large UK creators should have VAT numbers as sole traders

Forgive my ignorance here, I’m not claiming to know anything about OFs, but I read that the problem they have is that whilst they have millions of paying fans, they don’t have investors willing to accept explicit adult content. Why then don’t some of these biggest earners become investors too, or better still invest in a new platform that allows them to post whatever they want. Say I made a million from it like Megan Barton Hansen supposedly did in a few months, wouldn’t you want to reinvest in your future with some of that money?

I think people use it instead of free porn as they get hooked into a thirst trap of someone from social media, they want to see that person not random porn and want to actually interact with them.

Unlike porn I can see it can be very lucrative for a regular income (I guess the person takes home around 60% of the fees?). Not something I'd want to be a part of from either side though! Once it's out there, it's out there.

With regards to the content being reposted elsewhere it comes under revenge porn and obviously card details and identification are stored when someone purchases. The risk is there of course but I read there’s been a few cases of people being sued.

It’s came with the fame the glamour and the prestige and the best bit about it. You got paid by the day. You didn’t have to build anything all and what you got is what you got. You didn’t have to worry about your money going down
I don’t understand why people like Katie Price has only fans if you look on Google you can see all of her catalogue all of a Glamour modelling days. The Playboy shoots loaded FHM you name it and that was at her prime I don’t know why people would really pay to see anything now.

Olivia Attwood interviewed KK a few weeks ago and she said she was still making mega money from OF's. She also did an interview with another mag where she said she will still be doing it when she is a pensioner as it makes her so much cash. Don't think she would brag about if she wasn't as she has to pay tax on it.
