We don't know when they bought the rights to the name to be fair. They might not have owned it at the start.

Interesting that if one of them doesn't want to tour then it could block the rest of them from doing a reunion tour with the 1d name. I bet that causes some fights behind the scenes since Louis and Liam clearly want a reunion to happen.

I genuinely think he underestimated how successful they’d be and just let them have it. Let’s face it, they were shite on x-factor so I can understand not putting up a fight to it. But he can absolutely choke he has made SO much money from them already.

it’ll be interesting if they ever do reform for some concerts. If they all have to agree then I can’t see it happening because it seems like only Louis and Liam would actually do it and even Louis I’m not sure about.

Am I the only one who finds it strange when people assume the boys sexuality? I don’t care if any of the boys are gay or bi I just find it strange how people assume Louis is gay and Harry is gay and now people think Liam is gay.

Theres still loopholes around it. Eg using a different variation of the band name

At the beginning of the hiatus, Louis initially did seem to be gunning for a One Direction reunion to happen. I think that as he developed and found his own footing, his opinion of that changed. I get the vibe that while he wouldn’t decline a One Direction reunion if it came knocking on his door, he isn’t itching for one.

Niall has always been open about the possibility of a One Direction reunion, but he also isn’t itching for one. Harry has said that he’ll never rule out a reunion, but I don’t see him doing one until he’s at a pause in his current career trajectory.

That leaves Liam, who doesn’t currently have a solo career to speak of. Out of the four of them (I’m fairly sure Zayn wouldn’t touch anything One Direction again), he’d benefit the most from a One Direction reunion. At least with a reunion, he’d have a focus, something he severely lacks in his solo career.

I don’t see a reunion happening anytime soon, to be honest.

I don't think harry wants a reunion. And he doesn't want the backlash that comes with admitting that publicly

And Zayn conveniently remembers the band fondly whenever he's got something to promote haha

As for Liam, maybe it's time for a career change

There's definitely no reunion tour on the line. Maybe if one of them dies, ala Girls Aloud, but otherwise they're depending on Harry getting bored and feeling generous.

Their songs aren't memorable enough for a reunion. Their personalities and looks are what made them popular. Looking back their songs weren't anything special

No disrespect but a reunion wouldn’t work anymore, because of Liam. No one would want to associate with him anymore after the book.

I think that if any of the boys now do anything with Liam, it will reflect negatively on them.

I know many people shit on Louis on here, but he actually has a solid solo career going on on and is doing just fine. He’s just finished a tour, will be playing in festivals next, and has been hosting his own music festival for the past few years. He’s also got two albums out, and while they aren’t commercial top charters, they are reflective of who he is as an artist, and the kind of music he wants to make. He’s successful in his own way.

Which is a lot more than what Liam has done for his career.

Yeah I think Louis is comfortable enough with the level of fame/success he has as a solo artist, whereas Liam feels he's owed more. Liam won't be happy until he has 1d level of success again or is at least better than Solo Harry.

The book revealing he is bitter about Harry's solo success says it all. Liam expected his career to be on that level

That’s really interesting - I wonder what prompted it? I thought they seemed to genuinely have an understanding when Louis was a judge on the X Factor. I saw Simon today on the diary of a CEO and thought he came across pretty well. Would love another of the boys to go on it, Steven is a great interviewer.
