I reckon heaps of people ignore their gut and go through with a wedding based on a (naive) hope things will get better. I don’t think it’s as simple as just cutting him off I think she probably really loved him and most of her wanted the happy marriage so she was massively kidding herself.
The sponsorships and stuff, well I don’t disagree that that complicates it but the brands got their money’s worth from the wedding itself, that was their return on investment and they got their exposure. What happens after that is of no consequence to them and I bet they’d do it again any day of the week even knowing the outcome.
