I used to spend hours on Neopets and Habbo Hotel!

There was also a website called Funny Junk that had funny/weird pictures and videos. That’s where I first watched the video of the car driving along where the scary face pops up with all my friends at a sleepover 😂

When I was a teenager there was a website called gurl.com that I used to spend ages on too.

Does anyone else remember those sites for the Nokia phones where you could send a logo for you screen. Or the sites where you would spend ages typing in a sequence for a ring tone 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣
I had the Harry Potter theme tune as my ringtone and it went off in school and I got my phone confiscated haha

So many already mentioned like Neopets, any of the doll websites, Eastenders dress up etc 😂

Did anyone also go on iSketch? It was like online pictionary
Yes! I did go on iSketch!

Does anyone remember the Million Dollar Homepage? This college student set it up to help pay for his college fees, and it was just a single page with thousands of click through adverts, that he sold space for - genius idea when you think about it! (For its time anyway!)

Along with the usuals that have been mentioned like habbo hotel, bebo & eastenders game etc a group of me and my girlfriends would go on HotOrNot 🤣 I had a profile and thinking back now far too many seedy men messaging my school age self 🤢

I would also go on a site where you play games against a few others in a room like scrabble or boggle etc and you could all chat, there were juts chat rooms too where I would get a new boyfriend every week 🤪

‘Hi ASL?’ 😉

Habbo. I was always the broke one with no furniture or good clothes. 😭
Piczo.
Those flash game websites that were blocked at school but they'd create new sites constantly so there was always at least 1 that wasn't blocked. RIP flash.
Those doll dress-up games.
Runescape.
eBaum's world.
Those dodgy UK chatrooms omg. The amount of gross old men we talked to on there makes me feel ill.
Ask Jeeves
Bebo

Ohhhh god I had forgotten about lemon party 😬
I don't know this one and I'm too scared to google it. I'm not that naive anymore thankfully. 😅

Does anyone remember the forum attached to ASOS? There was another forum, fuk.co.uk (fashion uk) and there was a rivalry between them.

Did anyone go on rate my teacher 🤣

Also how funny was it on piczo when people would do 'head 2 head' and post a pic of 2 girls and a comment box where people decide who the better looking one was 😭😂

There was this website I used to go on about 15 years ago, which uploaded cartoon videos and parodies of songs.

There was one with an old granny singing "Do your boobs hang low, do they wobble to and fro, can you tie them in a knot, can you tie them in a bow?"

There was another one of a toddler singing about using her mum's makeup to the tune of "It Wasn't Me" by Shaggy

Anyone else remember it?
Omg I remember the do your boobs hang low thing. I can’t picture it but can remember the song:ROFLMAO:

If that is the one I think you mean, that was a weird place on the internet. I'd go on when my friends were round and we would post our MSN usernames and get added by dozens of men, mostly from Turkey (??) many who would proceed to masturbate on webcam to a group of 14 year old girls. Haven't thought about that site for years but I don't like the feeling I get when I do. Definitely a lot of p*dophile activity.

Sorry to bring a depressing air to the thread!
They were always from Turkey 😫 creeps me out thinking about it. I used a music platform called bearshare when I was 14 and random people could message you. They were ALWAYS older Turkish men

There were two websites way, way back in the late 1990s/early 2000s that I absolutely loved called Yesterdayland and x-entertainment. They were the ultimate nostalgia junkie paradise. They were US based so not a lot for anyone who wanted UK stuff but still so fascinating. I would spend hours on them.

I really miss the way Youtube used to be before Influencers were a thing. It was so much more varied but now everyone just copies each other and I'm so bored of that.

Forums in general being more of a thing before the rise of Facebook/Twitter/Insta are another loss I mourn and before that mailing lists. I used to interact with people so much more and while there was still a load of wanky nonsense out there I so miss in depth, long threaded conversations.

I've been online since about 2000 and it has changed so much, and I have to admit I don't really like it anymore and just use it out of habit.
