Bins were emptied on Monday. I’ve just been out to put my first bag in … and it’s full! Some cheeky fucker has put all their rubbish in my bin!

I am so angry.

I’ve been getting some work done on my garden. I have a long drive so all of the material has gone on there and rubbish removed every single day.

Found out at 5pm yesterday that the wagon with stone couldn’t get on the drive as it’s paved. So they had to place it at the entrance and move it by hand.

It didn’t impact my neighbour at all but we tried to knock on to let her know but she didn’t answer the door. I went round this morning to explain and had a note in my hand incase she wasn’t up and to advise if there was any inconvenience to let me know and I’d sort it. Despite it not affecting her she has proceeded to scream at me and demand to know what I’m doing to my own property.

I got into my car and cried. Told my partner and he came home from work to see what was going on, she was nice as pie to him!

Cunt of a woman.

People that want to talk to you one minute and ignore you the next! I cannot tolerate that, either you speak to me or you don’t. I take parcels in for everyone and they speak to me when they collect the parcel and ignore me the next day - weirdos!! I avoid everyone it’s easier

NDN dog has been alone now for THIRTY NINE fucking hours. It’s barely taken a breath to stop barking, and the back door is open so you can’t even sit in the garden without him jumping and howling at the fence. I can’t take any more!

I live in the top flat of a 4 flat converted house. When me and my boyfriend moved in he accidentally put some mixed recycling in the cardboard bin, our neighbours in the bottom flat rang our buzzer, we went down and they explained the issue and I was really apologetic as they’d scooped it all out and re-sorted it for us.

The problem is since then; whenever we take down rubbish they check it? as in opening our black sacks and checking the actual waste we’re throwing away? It makes me feel uneasy… 😅 I’m gonna have to throw some red paint on some of his old clothes and bin them so they think I’ve done him in or something 🤣

my horrible neighbour has put her house up for sale!!! 🥳
I feel like partying but it’s on at such a ridiculous price that she might still be here in 3 years time! 😆

My neighbours behaviour esculated wildly this week. She's been driving really dangerously fast past me walking my dog on our private shared lane/drive for a few weeks, and for my own safety on this day I recorded it. She's slammed on her brakes, skidded to a stop, jumped out her car (impressive for an over 80 yo) and started yelling abuse at me!!! Wild false and utterly horrid accusations and insults about my appearance. Thankfully all on camera but it has really shocked myself and my loved ones. Husband bought me a bodycam!!!! I guess in a way I can prove to people her behaviour towards me is what i've been saying but equally very concerned about the esculation. Maybe she's poorly and losing it? :(

Neighbour noise can get so stuck in your head and become unbearable. We used to live opposite a house with about 5 children of various ages who seemed to just scream in the garden. There was a ten year old boy played in the road and kicked a football against their garden wall all day every day. And I mean 8am til about at least 9pm. For some reason he didn't seem to go to school.
My OH couldn't see why it was driving me mad - 'it's nice to see kids playing outside'. But I worked from home and grew to dread to constant 'ge - dunk' every few seconds. I couldn't have the front windows open in summer as it drove me so mad. I took to wearing earplugs all the time as it was just drilling into my brain. It's so wierd how things can build up to become a problem.
Can definitely feel for you with this. We had 3 years of the football on one house. Moved because of it and then ended up with another 9 years where we are now. Leather football against a wall, over and over. We could hear it in our house absolutely everywhere, bought sound systems for the TV could still hear it. Had to wear headphones all day working from home. We are detached and it even rattles our house. I have therapy for a stress disorder caused from of it. It’s a form of noise torture. The sound goes right through me. A lot of people don’t get it but certain, constant repetitive noises and frequencies can really mess you up. Moreover the little shits smash the ball into peoples cars too but no one seems to bat an eyelid about that either. The only rest bite is rainy days. I dream about living miles from anyone where you can actually sit in the garden and read

Hi everyone I was on this thread about 2 years ago because my neighbour was making my life hell. We moved house thankfully and I love my new house. But once again we live next door to complete kn*bheads. We tried making an effort and being friendly but then we noticed they were thumping on our shared wall, slamming doors and stomping up their bare wood stairs constantly and hoovering it aggressively so the attachment bangs against the treads and echos. We spoke to them about it to try and nip it in the bud like I wish I had at the old house, they were apologetic and it stopped for a week. Now they do it on purpose and it’s stressing me out to the point where I had to increase my anti depressants dosage. They don’t even acknowledge us anymore if we bump into each other. I don’t know what we’ve done to annoy them, maybe they didn’t like us saying anything but I feel like I must be the problem for it to happen in yet another house. We’re not a noisy family, we’re out the house all day with work and school, it just sucks feeling like wherever we live no one has respect for others when it comes to their noise and lifestyle. We noticed the lady was pregnant so we began being more aware of our own noise as I know when you’re pregnant and have a newborn you just want peace, it made no difference. We even ‘tested’ them by making the same noises back and they were furious. Obviously I don’t expect silence and my noise sensitivity is my issue, but who needs to slam doors or bang on walls!? Sorry for the rant, it’s supposed to be our forever home but it’s making me feel fed up now.
It’s really hard not to take it personally when it happens with different neighbours. As I said above we moved from a semi to a detatched thinking it’d solve all our noise issues. And it did for about 3 months before people there turned into noisy assholes too. It just about broke me as I couldnt believe it was happening again. We’d spent so much getting a bigger detatched house and really pushed ourselves for what. I thought well it must be us or we are cursed. But I just genuinely think more and more people are totally ignorant to anyone around them, they’re everywhere. Other people don’t even exist and everyone feels like they can do what they want with no consequences. Which is true most of the time as the council/police do nothing to help anyone who is a victim of their neighbours. Just try and think of the bigger picture, you’re a better person with a lovely family and they obviously just have issues. There’s lots of us on here in similar neighbourhoods situations and that always helps me but also makes me feel so sad for us at the same time

Hi everyone how are your awful neighbours treating you lately?
Mine have decided it’s acceptable to slam doors all night and that we have to put up and shut up. The noise is constant and the minute they hear so much as a footstep from us they’re banging on the wall. I’m beyond stressed now because this was supposed to be our forever home, I’ve spent a fortune, now I just want to leave. Why are some people so nasty!?

Our neighbours have been bitching all week about the grit box

Monitoring people who took "2 buckets" from the grit box

Complaining it's not being used "correctly" (as in shovel, then grit)

Complaining that it hadn't been refilled (literally day 2 of snow)

One neighbour wears a hivis police jacket (not sure if his actual profession, but never takes it off and wants everyone to know) and suggested he told one guy he could be 'prosecuted' for using grit on his drive

Chaos!

Long time lurker on the turned , but I think this is the first time I’ve posted.

We’ve just moved to a new house, and although it’s detached, as it’s on a corner it’s not too far from neighbours and their bedroom looks into our garden.

a few weeks after we moved in I was having a cigarette in the back garden and had left the light on, forgotten and come back in. About 20 mins later the neighbour knocked and asked me to turn it off as it shines into her bedroom window because of the angle. Of course I did and apologised loads. It was about 9:30

since then, every time I’ve had a cigarette I’ve used my torch on my phone for a bit of light or gone out the front because I don’t want to annoy her.

if we are in the garden in the evening, haven’t been later than 10 she shuts all her doors and windows. I am worried that she’s pissed off at us talking and so haven’t sat outside more than 20 mins

It’s my husbands bday next week and we’ve arranged a bbq / housewarming and we’ve got family visiting (they live overseas) but I’m so anxious that she’s going to be annoyed that I can’t relax and want to cancel.

We’ve been here just over a month and obviously it’s not that warm yet so I’m unsure if people have parties or not here. I’m not planning to be blaring music or anything but we will be drinking etc. and planning to host in the garden.

spoke to a friend about it and she said I need to be able to enjoy my garden and need to stop worrying as long as I’m not breaking any noise laws but I am still panicking.

what do you all think? I can’t stop stressing 😭😂 don’t want to be the neighbour that ends up being written about on a nightmare neighbour thread.
Why doesn’t she shut her curtains/blinds if your garden light is bothering her at night?

I can understand your anxiety because you don’t want to get off on the wrong foot. If I were you, a few days before the party I’d knock on the doors of any neighbours whose gardens are nearest to you and introduce yourself and then explain that you are having a small family get together for your husband’s birthday (don’t say housewarming or they might expect an invite!) and it shouldn’t be loud but out of courtesy you are letting them know because there’ll be more vehicles parked on the road, etc. They’d also then know that it’s not going to be party central every weekend!

Also, the fact that you are worrying means you are very unlikely to be written about on a nightmare neighbour thread. Nightmare neighbours don’t give a shit about what the rest of the street think of them and do as they please. You come across as a considerate neighbour.

I’ve got a friend who is constantly talking about how bad her neighbours are … except they’re not!

When they moved in, she wrote them at letter saying they weren’t to touch her fence or paint it. I mean, to some extent, fair enough, but a bit random.

She films them when they’re in the garden then sends the film to everyone saying how they’re doing it on purpose to upset her. They’re just gardening or having a chat.

She won’t park in her drive, taking up premium street space. She then takes photos and has a go at anyone who parks even vaguely near her drive, which is always empty.

Everything is recorded then sent to everyone with comments of how they are ruining her life and it’s impossible to rationalise with her. If they have workmen in (nothing major ever), if they drill for five minutes, if they mow the lawn, if they have guests once in a blue moon … everything, all normal life, recorded 🤷🏼‍♀️

I just want to sit in my garden on a nice sunny day. Next door have been in the hot tub for eight hours, squealing hysterically for most of it, shouting at the top of their voices. And now my garden is full of thick smoke from the barbecue that they currently have right against my fence. Fucks sake.

For the past year I’ve had a suspicion that my neighbour has been using her Ring doorbell to spy on us.
Tonight I finally have concrete proof.
This evening I was talking to family in the front garden and I saw her at the window.
I could see her in her front window with her phone, then the light came on her Ring doorbell and didn’t go off again until we’d gone inside. I must’ve been stood in the right place to be able to see the light on the Ring. She might not know there’s a light on it that can’t be turned off.
Nothing happened to trigger the motion sensor. I’m totally convinced now that she’s recording via the Live View
I’m so annoyed and upset.

I don’t do anything to warrant this. I’m so quiet and keep to myself mostly.
I’ve had eight years of her standing watching me so many times when I come and go from the house, when I’m doing DIY, when I’m gardening, when I have workmen here or family. I already knew I was constantly being watched, so I had started varying what I do.
If I come home with shopping I go in the house first and unload it ten mins later when she’s gone from the window, or I sit in the car until she moves away.
I have tried staring back.
I don’t think I could wave as it’s gone on so long and we don’t speak.

I hate confrontation but I don’t want this.

We are really spoilt. On one side we have a guy who is always drilling, sawing, tapping and banging, all hours. The other side we have a bloke who stands staring at us over our 6ft fence when we have a bbq, nosy fucker! Last summer I shouted - excuse me would you like to come and join us, in a very loud voice. He ducked his head!

I dread the summer. All we want is privacy. We have planted some large plants which are growing well, so we might get privacy soon fingers crossed. I keep saying we are surrounded by weirdos!

I swear to god, my 'how dare your cat enter my garden' neighbour has decided to start drilling or using an electric saw in her garden 5 minutes after I've arrived home for the day. I don't think it's coincidence. She's retired and had all day to do it.

I'm actively (and ok, maybe a bit pettily) avoiding my kitchen - she can see me in my kitchen window and wants the attention more than anything. She also has the horrible habit of shouting from her garden into my kitchen window if she sees me, to have a conversation that almost always turns into a complaint about something.

I can hear her out there screaming to her husband, huffing and puffing and making a real drama. I know things could be much worse, but I just want to relax after a day of work!!!
Maybe you could get some of that reflective film on your kitchen window. It should effect the light coming in but will stop Nosey from clocking you making your tea!

Witnessed a drug deal at 8am this morning, heard chatting outside my front door so had a snoop on the ring doorbell and guy walking toward my neighbour, who i have suspected of drug dealing for a while, with cash in his hand. neighbour obviously knowing i have the Ring ushers the guy away. less than a minute later neighbour walks back annoyingly over my front garden. It just makes me feel uneasy especially living alone to potentially have people lingering around outside. had a weird feeling the other night to check the ring, i dont normally look back at it as can make me feel a bit paranoid sometimes and ignorance is bliss, to see a guy try the handle of my car, the click the camera put his hood up and shoot off.

We suspect our neighbour has been encouraging our cat into her house and feeding her. She’s a small boned cat and has put on a bit too much weight even though we are watching her diet and treats.
Anyway, last week cat wad scratching and we realised that we forgot her monthly flea treatment so treated her . Not too much of a problem as she has been sleeping outside at night because of the warm weather so the only room we needed to treat was the conservatory. And neither of us have been bitten.
Saw neighbour yesterday and she was complaining about little bites on her feet and ankles, wondered if it was little insects on her lawn.
I said nothing.
