The VIP comments are brutal and now Kelly is having a little cry / meltdown on Facebook.
Read the room Kelly, the glory days are over, your cheap crappy polyester cloths that look good on 1% of the population is your problem. Number one rule of business - stay in your lane. Not her though - homewares, tee shirts, luggage, activewear etc..,,Kelly it’s your fault, not the VIPs who have bought way too much of your tit for years .
Also please stop with the ‘Ive just been trying to dress the nation’ bull. You’ve been trying to make money - plain and simple.
I SPRINTED right here the moment her post of drivel came up on my newsfeed 😆

It does sound like a tough predicament but her post just completely rubs me up the wrong way. Such a victim complex!? Like she didn’t go into business of her own volition - like from the moment she emerged from the womb she was bestowed the burden of one day becoming Queen of Neon Polyester, forced to single-handedly clothe the nation. Like she’s just been so integral to NZ society that us plebs couldn’t possibly understand. Meanwhile in the comments people are acting like the post is the Bravest Statement Anyone Has Ever Made.

And no, it’s not something that she should get personally attacked for, but is that really what’s happening? I haven’t seen the VIP group comments but I doubt anyone’s sending death threats or calling her the devil incarnate. If I had to guess I’d say, the super-loyal customer base that she wanted to cultivate in the first place, are critiquing a business decision that personally affects them - as they’re entitled to do.

What a time to be alive!

100% agree, the VIsp section is fairly brutal but very little personal attacks on Kelly herself more just on the brand going downhill for years. Kelly should take this as market information gold and try to adapt or die!

Kelly's giant post over - explaining it all is exhausting to read; positions her as the victim (of what? I saw what was on the VIP page and didn't see any personal attacks - disappointment yes, but that's reasonable) and no accountability for making this fairly significant business decision 👏 without 👏 informing 👏 her 👏 loyal 👏 customers.

Watch her staff and longtime loyal (non plus size) stans run to console her in 3...2...1...

I wonder if Jess (old stellar royal designer) saw the writing on the wall when she left last year.
Her restraint of trade was quite long aye?

Red flag #102 Augustine have dropped their plus size brand Stella Royal.
She’s got the holiday home on the market but I saw something the other day that said she was selling her Auckland house too. I can’t for the life of me find the picture again but it was a two story with verandas. Did anyone else see it or am I going mad????

devils advocate …. She’s telling the customers now, not just quietly dropping the sizes and keeping them as “out of stock”, and she doesn’t “owe” anyone plus sizes if she’s decided to pivot cos it’s not profitable. Would be dumb business to keep on keeping on if it’s not turning profit. Next to go will be the basics and amaya. I’d say she’s seen the writing On the wall and is executing a big turn around to try and save things, which to be fair, most business owners would do.
But yeah the woah is me over explaining post was a bit much… she knew it wouldn’t be well received and she probably should have just keep off the socials for a bit.
plenty of others do plus size polyester now and at a cheaper gaudier price point - Sarah lily.

Yep, the shoes will go too

Why is Elle Hershelf so obsessed with insane drinks and 'large burning', honey bee there is no large left on you to *burn*. Anyone else kinda concerned there is genuine disordered eating at play here.. she looked healthier when she was your New Zealand average size whatever she was 🥺

Elleherselfdongwellchrisp is a walking advertisement for an ED.

She made a big thing of being fitted with the CGM, got so much flack from genuine diabetics who couldn't afford it, and she was using it to augment weight loss, along with the injection .

She lost 10kg last year. But she also lost one of her friends, big falling out, to whom she attributes losing the weight. What do we believe.

Scary how this will affect her children . Children don't want lettuce "chips"

And now she's promoting her electrolytes which also doubles as a "large burner".

So what about all her "post partum" weightloss, which I presume happened before the friendship break up?

The Augustine plus size saga continues in the Herald and RNZ Facebook posts. If I'm not wrong, one of the comments is from Nat O'Saurus - who set up one of the original Augustine buy/sell groups when the brand was in it's heyday. I agree with her message 100%...this would have been much better managed if Kelly had just been upfront about the changes.
I see they're still moving the Auckland store down the street to tired old Nuffield St...I really think this is the wind down of the brand.
